This place is the real deal! I was looking for a physical therapy business that took Medicare and I was fortunate to find POW physical therapy. From the minute you walk in the door you feel welcomed. Veronica is at the front desk and she is very professional but also warm and friendly. One of the things I was seeing them about was some vertigo ( dizziness) I was experiencing upon lying down or sitting up. I was surprised when my primary doctor said physical therapy was in order to help with this. Who knew? I kid you not, one appointment was all it took to completely eradicate the problem! Poof, gone! Now they are helping me with a stiff painful neck with reduced range of motion. I'm sure they're gonna be able to give me some relief soon. I've seen Christian and Michelle so far and they were both great. Nice people who listen to the patient ( me!) and were gentle and caring. The business offers a full range of services available to address whatever ails you. I started seeing her right when I found out I was pregnant, and she really helped my body through pregnancy. Now she helps me during postpartum. I initially chose POW because they were on a list of pelvic floor therapists recommended by my OBGYN after having a c-section and because they took my insurance. But after seeing that they also used Pilates as part of their treatment plans, I was sold. I had never done Pilates before but had always wanted to try it! Dr. Jen was great at listening to my concerns and creating a plan tailored to my particular needs. She also helped with the new mom aches and pains in my upper back and shoulders from all the hunching and carrying baby. I will definitely be back again if/when I have more kids! read more

I went to POW physical therapy after TKR. I had difficulty getting in, taking about 3 weeks to get in following completion of my home physical therapy. I at least knew what to do in the interim. Not only did I have trouble getting in initially, but also never had more than 1 appointment a week, even though my MD had ordered it for 2-3 times a week. I was never challenged during the therapy, and when I was assigned a therapist other than the evaluating therapist, I felt the visit was wasted because the issues I complained of were never addressed. I also had difficulty when my primary therapist decided to leave the facility, and I was assigned another therapist. I confirmed the new visit twice, rearranged my entire schedule to accommodate the new visit, but somehow it never got on the master schedule. The office staff laid the blame on me even though it wasn't my fault, as it had been confirmed with the previous therapist. Because of the lack of follow through, I would not recommend this facility for post operative orthopedics. read more

POW Physical is The Best of The Best! Prior to POW Physical Therapy, I have been to three different therapy offices for the same issue. I suffer from neck issues and it would take its toll in my sleep and continued to limit my daily activities. To say the least I was completely miserable in dealing with chronic pain and thought that this is just how life is and I would always be in pain. I was at another physical therapists office in town for two years and I could not heal what was going on with my body. My mother-in-law gave rave reviews about POW, so I decided to try them out. They are AMAZING! First of all, I was super impressed that each physical therapist stays with each client for the entire hour of treatment. This was not the case with the other places, where I would only spend a half an hour with the therapist and then I would work with someone else. The level of detailed service is incredible! Plus they gave me different exercises to take home that were far more effective than the ones I had previously been given. But, here is the real kicker that proves they are far above and beyond any other organization, they determined it was never really my neck; it was my jaw that was causing all the headaches, pain and lack of sleep. Having been to three different places before and not one coming to that conclusion, really tells you that they really are the best of the best. They really focus on the whole body and not just where you are experiencing localized pain. Mind blown. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Smart, empathetic, professional, caring, problem-solvers...... As a senior who grew up in competitive sports, physical therapy has been a part of my regular routine for most of my life. Recently, years of undiagnosed pelvic pain brought me to POW and Dr. Jen. Her immediate understanding, optimism and support brought me to tears. Just her "acknowledgement" of what I was dealing with made an immediate difference emotionally. Dr. Jen and I worked together for most of a year as I progressed through treatment and various doctors. She never gave up and easily worked with other professionals as we sorted out the "mess" of pain I was dealing with. Presently, we have broken down my pain into separate issues. I am able to have an active life as I work through the remaining issues. I can move again without fear and have a more normal life!! Dr. Jen's knowledge of female issues is superior! She makes what could be an awkward topic so EASY and comfortable! PT Angel!! Every woman and man !!! needs to know that there is a person like Dr. Jen with the specialized knowledge and training to help. Most doctors are not informed about options like her. During my work with Dr. Jen, I pulled a calf muscle playing sports. I had the fortune of also working with Lauren, in their office, for over a month. She is sharp, witty and also a joy to work with. I was so sad to be sidelined from my sport so she created simulated games for us to do as part of therapy that we both totally looked forward to. Today I am confidently playing again... as long as I remember to do her warmup and cool-down exercises. PT is always going to be a part of my life. I'm very Fortunate to have found POW Physical Therapy in 2016. I've had two back surgeries 20 years prior and was in incredible pain, even after six lumbar injections. I started seeing Matt and began to strengthen and heal my back. At the same time my neck or cervical spine was beginning to cause pain and stiffness which Matt was able to segue into once my back was stable. A few months after I was finally stable and mostly pain free I tore my rotator cuff. Instead of going to my general practitioner I went right to Matt. He got me on the road to improvement. I began attending Jen's prenatal pilates classes and LOVE them! I feel really energized afterward and it's clear that she really knows what she is doing. My doctor recommended her class because I'm expecting twins and she said these classes would help prevent back pain. The class is a combination of stretching, light weights, core work and exercises to strengthen and tone shoulders, back, legs, abs. Jen encourages you to stop if anything is uncomfortable and is quick to suggest modifications if needed. I have only been going for a couple of weeks, and I feel myself not only maintaining my fitness level but getting a little stronger. I highly recommend this class. Best physical therapy place for patients with severe back problems, the therapist is amazing she knew were and how to massage my back , I could tell it worked because the next day the pain wasn't as bad. For me thats a miracle, I have a herniated disc in my L4 and L5 and Ive been to at least a dozen physical therapist that never seem to treat my back as good as this place, I finally found a keeper, definitely worth trying for those people people that can never find a therapist that helps, this one is the one! read more

I've had to have a lot of physical therapy for different issues over the last 3 years. I changed insurance and I couldn't use my old therapist who was excellent. This place is AWESOME!!! Gabby the receptionist is so kind and helpful with appointments and insurance. My therapist Darren is very knowledgeable and kind, he spends the whole 45 min appointment working with me. First off, I have never written a review. I've been a member of Yelp for a while now, and have never written a review . . . until now. I think the fact that I'm writing one now is a testament to POW. And since POW is still in its fledgling stages, I thought I'd start things off with a stellar review. I am 29 years old and have had a bulging disc in my back for the past seven (!) years. Yeah, don't ask me how that happened. But seven years ago, I had a cortisone epidural which magically decreased my pain and sciatica. Up until now, I haven't had any complaints. But about two months ago, the pain started coming back very slowly and has progressed to the point that I can't get through my work because my days are severely interupted by back spasms. Frankly, I can't afford to miss work. Not for all the doctors' appointments and x-rays and MRIs it will take to get an actual diagnosis from a doctor (which, in all actually, will tell me exactly what I already know - I have a bulging disc), so I sprang out of pocket for an appointment with Dr. Jen from POW. I had my first (and at the time of this review, only) physical therapy appointment with Dr. Jen last night, and today I'm back at my desk with . . . almost no pain! Seriously, I'm a phsyical therapy veteran and I have never had results like this from one (ONE!) treatment. I'm not going to lie, I was in serious pain while Dr. Jen was massaging out my back and hips, but that is all part of the process. She took care to stop the massage and do some back exercises to see the progression of the pain, and then got right back to massaging. After the massage, she followed up with some exercises to ensure I maintain strength and flexibility. Really, you can't ask for more from a therapist! I'm so used to someone throwing me on a heating pad then icing me down and charging my insurance. What an amazing difference! Dr. Jen told me she is certified in women's health. With the state of my back, I have a feeling we're going to be best friends if/when I get pregnant. POW definitely has a customer for life in me! read more

I just wanted to say how wonderful my experience was with Jen and everyone at POW Physical Therapy. After the birth of my first child I experienced some pelvic floor and core issues. I wanted to get back to working out again but needed help with assessing the degree of my injuries. I started seeing Jen three months postpartum and my only regret is that I didn't see her sooner. Jen was great to work with and taught me proper form and breathing to address my injuries and get me back on track. Being that Jen is a mom as well, I felt very comfortable with her on a subject that isn't discussed as much as it should be. They were able to address my needs and create a care plan to get me back on track after having a baby and being diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. Ok, this review is looong overdue. I've seen Matt for about 4 years now, and my physical condition has improved dramatically since. He helped me to accurately diagnose and get rid of an intolerable pain on my lower back, waist and SI joint. I have a strong scoliosis, with some issues on the SI joint, and surfing doesn't go well with that. Before seeing Matt I was being treated at the UCLA Spine Center, considered one of the best centers in the country for spine treatment; doctors there mistakenly concluded that my pain was coming from a protrusion on L5, and recommended cortisone shots and 'maybe surgery'. I decided to try PT with Matt, and after a few months he was able to diagnose the problem on my SI (associated with the scoliosis) and recommend the necessary PT exercises for strengthening and stretching. He is an excellent professional, and besides being very knowledgeable, he's always in a good mood. The pain which was keeping me from doing what I love (surfing), is 100% gone now, and I can't thank Matt enough for that. read more

First I'd like to point out that the owners of POW Physical Therapy, Jen and Matt Evans are both Doctors of Physical Therapy; not all physical therapists have their DPT degree, and I feel this extra training makes all the difference. About a year ago my husband had some arm pain and numbness which just wouldn't go away on it's own. He first tried another physical therapy establishment and got no relief at all. He was beginning to think he would have to live with the pain forever. After just one treatment from Dr. Matt Evans, he had almost immediate relief. In just a few treatments, the problem was completely solved and hasn't returned to this day. Just recently my husband began having an issue with his neck, so without hesitation, he returned to POW again. I think I need to go, too, for a neck issue I'd kinda given up on.
