Neighborhood thrift store where we are happy to make donations as we downsize. We have also found some really good bargains and interesting stuff. read more

This thrift shop is a good place for everything you need , we really recommend getting there and find some great stuff.

I had an incredibly rude encounter with one of the volunteers or staff at the store. She was an older white woman with black and gray hair. This woman allowed a customer to cut in front of me, but also made a terribly rude comment to me regarding an accident in the store. I'm never experience blatant rudeness from a senior associate and unfortunately, this will be my last time shopping here. The clothes are just OK and the area is very dusty, very narrow and not shoppable with children. The value for the items in the store are OK with the cheapest items really being overused goods. I used to enjoy coming here in the past because the store is easy to get through (as in, see if any item is for you quickly) and the mission is positive but I will no longer go out my way to visit this location or any Poverello. Thank you! read more

A nice leisurely stroll off of the drive. A lot of various home goods, electronics, books, music and clothes. Very reasonable prices and a great selection. The staff is very friendly. Proceeds support the local community. read more

Would leave 0 stars if I could. Came in today to grab a sweater before I had to head to work. I found one I liked within 3 mins of being in the store. When I got to the register, it took the cashier over 20 minutes to check me out I am not exaggerating. There were only 2 people in front of me as well absolute insanity. He decided to engage in a 15 minute long conversation with the first customer like nobody else was behind him. I now am late to work and extremely frustrated. I really hope that employment here can be revised because besides the incompetent long haired blonde man working at the register, the clothes were quite nice read more

Where can you go and get clothes for a dollar with a good selection and sizes. They have clothes, jewelry, shoes, kitchenware, pictures, furniture, lots of books, records and cd's. Bedding. A great variety of things from a-z. Good prices, well organized. A Great organization that you are helping all at one place. Patrick the manager is very helpful and goes over beyond to help you out with what you might be looking for and prices. I was looking for wines openers, foil cutters and fondue sticks. He bundle it and gave me one flat price for everything. He even told the ladies at the cashier so I would have to explain myself. Love it. When you go to visit tell Patrick Felicia said hi. Oh! The music they play in there is great too. Singing and digging for treasures and finding some. Fun times. read more

Poverello Thrift Store - The front of the thrift store - Thrift Stores Near Me - Pompano Beach, Florida

Always a pleasure visiting this store. Very friendly staff. It's a very clean and well organized store. Great job

I'd been to their store in Wilton Manors and was surprised when they opened a branch in Pompano. I've driven by often and finally decided to go check it out. This thrift store is extremely clean and well organized. You can tell that some very talented people are in charge as it's artfully designed. There are areas of furniture placed on Persian rugs with a few key pieces of bric a brac nearby as if each little section has been staged by a decorator. It's easy to picture what the items would look like in your home -- and I'm sure that helps sales. In addition to used furniture, they have china, glassware, cookware, housewares, books, clothes, accessories, and even jewelry. Think a more upscale and spacious -- and neater -- version of Goodwill -- but in this case the monies collected stay in our community and a much much higher percentage actually goes to help provide food and other essential services to those with chronic illnesses and medical needs. If you love looking through thrift stores and seeking bargains, add this one to your list to visit regularly. You will be sure to find something to take home. In addition, you will be donating to a very good cause. read more

The Poverello Center was founded in 1987 by Father Bill Collins with the purpose of feeding and taking care of AIDS patients who were dying alone. Today the Poverello Center operates a combination food bank and thrift store. They continue to provide food and medicine to people suffering from HIV/AIDS as well kidney disorders, diabetes, cancer, and other chronic conditions. Every year the Poverello Center services 3,000 people with foods appropriate for their condition. In addition to meeting their nutrition needs anyone enrolled in their Eat Well Center or Be Well Program also has access to a gym, chiropractor, acupuncture, and massage services. People in the program are also able to receive items from the thrift store free of charge. People who qualify can receive support and health services all in the same place. Poverello's first thrift store location in Wilton Manors opened in 2011. This location in Pompano Beach opened in January of 2019. I actually thought this location was a little nicer than the Wilton Manors one. Over 7,000 sq feet of space you can find furniture, clothing, accessories, household items, art, china, jewelry, and more. They had several lovely sets of china that I admired. Higher end items are sold through their Ebay store. Everyone greeted me warmly and I had an enjoyable time treasure hunting through their inventory. Besides selling items you can also donate here so keep them in mind the next time you are cleaning out the house. You can rest assured that your donation are giving back to the community. read more

After learning about Poverello and the good things the store makes possible, I decided to do some spring cleaning. The folks there were so nice and really keep the store organized with great displays. I was able to leisurely look around after my boxes of donations were accepted in the rear of the store. Lots of clean small appliances, TVs, furniture, framed art, clothing and jewelry. Things sell fast so go take a look! read more

very clean and friendly. Money goes directly to their food bank to help the less fortunate

Excellent thrift store. Super clean store friendly staff. New merchandise daily. Great sales! Highly recommend read more

It's not my favorite place to thrift. lots of furniture and the lighting is really dark. the clothes are out dated. my favorite part was the display bowl of condoms right at the front desk. gave us a good laugh at this otherwise sad store. read more

Big store but the prices are absolutely ridiculous even for Fort Lauderdale standards. The operators of the store seem to be out of touch with what the resale value of some of their items are. Outdated textbooks, scratched up furniture and lots and lots of miss matched glassware and furnishings just don't cut it especially at the prices they're asking. You might find a great deal or a gym but I would check out some other places first. read more

I was hesitant to go after reading the previous reviews, however, I had a great experience! The staff were super nice & helpful. This store takes clothing & furniture donations that help provide health & nutritional services for people in need. I bought a couple cashmere sweaters in great condition, for less than $5! Love the concept of this store & that they help others, so I'll definitely come back to drop off more clothes & find great deals! read more

Wow, I love this store and such nice people!! Worth visiting, great bargains. They have furniture, clothing and more. Very clean.

Really nice people working here. Super clean. Very organized. I didn't have any luck with my size, but I'll be back.

As we perform our annual giving , we found this place in the Pelican Newspaper. The place was neat, the staff was very helpful and they gave us a discount since the purchases were going for charity. Well payed out, great selection in both locations . (they put great deals in the Pelican paper) read more

I want David Wedel the assistant manager back at the Pompano Beach, store. David is very personable with the customers and he always had the store looking clean, organized and well laid out with his artistic ability and talent compared to now when I walk in! When I walk into the store now I do not feel that there are warm vibrations and a very cold atmosphere plus the store isn't laid out nicely compared to when David was there as assistant manager. David made all his customers feel very welcome and extremely helpful. He has exceeded well and above his duties as assistant manager. WE WANT DAVID WEDEL BACK!!! DAVID IS THE BEST!! read more

Had an excellent experience shopping at the Pompano location. Large selection of furniture at extremely attractive prices. Staff was friendly and helpful. I bought a sofa, dining table and chairs and another wood piece. They delivered all of it to me in Boca for only $40! Great prices on lots of other small items attractively displayed. Delivery people were efficient and did a great job. I will definitely be returning. read more

If i could I'll give this store no stars if you want to feel uncomfortable or unwelcome come to this store they'll make sure of that they don't ask you if you need help or if you're looking for something particular only the young lady in the front speaks the rest of the staff is on their cell phones or just walking around literally with their hands in their pocket will not recommend coming to the location will not donate I'll take my donations and money elsewhere! read more

looking forward to watching this store grow. i love the other store and hopefully it will ve run just like mario runs the other !

I've always gone to Poverello's as this was my main thrift store of all, but, they changed it to the point that it looks awful and I will never go in there again. I don't know why it was changed, the store looks empty, just horrible. It was great the way they had it and it's just a nightmare to know it's not the same. I would have given this store a five star rating but not any more. I'm done with this place as it's ruined now. Sometimes you just need to leave things alone. read more

This thrift store is great! I loved when I walked in there were tons of things that filled my eyes! The prices are good, the brands retail prices are expensive, so the price Poverello lists the furniture for is great. The manager, I believe his name is Luis, is super warm and welcoming. He approached me asking if I needed any help and helped me find what I was looking for and more. Definitely go here if you're looking for a great bargain and great store! read more

It's a great place and organized. Most of the employees are wonderful but Patricia is so disrespectful and disgusting. How she treat them and call them out there names, it was so embarrassing me and my husband left without buying anything because of how rude she was, we will not be coming back there as long as she is there and told my family the same thing. I would rate Z and Cat a 10 if I could they are very respectful, made sure we was helped and answered all the questions we had. We know because we come every week. Thank you for being y'all joyful self. read more

Awesome thrift store and the staff is great! I went to the Pompano Beach location for the first time last night and met David, David and Gina. They were all super helpful and so nice. The store has furniture, clothing, home accessories, books, and lots of other "stuff" which is in great condition and at bargain prices! The store is clean, smells nice (not the usual "thrift store smell" which take you a while to get used to), items are nicely displayed, and there is employee pride. I had so much fun I came back today and did some additional shopping. I met Roy, the store manager, who was also super nice and helpful. Definitely a new favorite on my list and one I will frequent often. Give Poverello Thrift Store in Pompano Beach on Powerline Rd. a visit, you will not be disappointed! read more
