We were in the area and I'd wanted to check this place out for some time. It's nice when a thrift store has a good charity associated with it. When we first walked in, we saw some colorful designer jackets that were quite nice -- and only $9. They had a sale going on -- all the red and yellow tickets were half priced. They also had some other items like picture frames marked down -- so look for the various signs. On top of the clothes racks there are shelves with various items -- bric a brac, metal ware, baskets... you name it. So even if you're not into used clothes, you may want to walk up and down the aisles to see what is there. On one side of the store are shelves of electronics, more China, housewares, paintings and the like. And by the checkout desk there was a table marked 99 cents with a mish mash of things on sale. On the checkout counter, there were several baskets of costume jewelry and small bags with miscellaneous parts to make jewelry or other crafts. They accept credit cards, but there is a minimum spend of $10. Otherwise, just bring cash. Prices can be a bit high regularly, but if you find something on sale or on a sale table, you could luck out. read more

Always interested in exploring thrift shops and their hidden treasures, we found this place just down the street from our great lunch stop. Lots of interesting home goods, clothes, electronics, furniture and art pieces. Pricing is a tad higher, but there are bargains to be found. Several areas had fifty per cent off signs to take advantage of here. They started to get very busy as we were standing in line to pay for some jewelry and a nice (in original sealed packing) picture frame and as we were exiting the store. I assume based on it's name that the proceeds of this store go to autism research which is great because some of my favorite people (students) are on the spectrum. This store sells furniture, household goods, seasonal decorations, clothes, shoes, handbags, and toys. The store is nicely organized and items were in gently used condition. I ended up purchasing an Andrea by Sadek green and gold pineapple decorative bowl, a Carole Little Home Collection vintage cake plate, and a vintage Formalities by Baum Bros strawberry chintz print water pitcher. All my items together came to less than $20. I already looked them up on the internet and they are going for more than I paid on Ebay and other sites. When I paid the lady who rang me up carefully wrapped everything safely and securely and put it in a box for the ride home. Based on the mixed reviews of this store I wasn't sure what to expect. I ended up being pleasantly surprised. Everything I purchased was in perfect condition and I really love everything I bought. I will definitely be peeking in here again when I am in the area. read more

I like this place. I can always find something inexpensive, interesting and unexpected... something you didn't know it exists but once you see it calls your name. They are now requiring a $10 minimum on credit card purchases. Mastercard, et al appears to have updated their rules, allowing merchants to set a minimum to not exceed $10. However, the minimum rule does not apply to Debit Card purchases. They are in fact violating Merchant rules as they have a sign near the cashier stating: "$10 minimum on all credit card & debit card purchases." If they refuse your Debit Card for any amount, you can contact Mastercard and file a complaint. Having no cash, I was forced to leave my merchandise behind because I forgot about this exception. Have frequented this place for 10 years now, and this is the first time that they are requiring a minimum. BTW, one of the new female cashiers has a nasty Generation Z tude. read more

We visited the area this past Saturday and did a quick search of Thrift stores, Autism Thrift popped up and we headed over with my parents. I don't know why my searches had never shown this particular store, I am not sure if they are new in this area. Upon arriving, I was pleasantly surprised with how big their space is, and how nicely the layout of the merchandise was. We browsed every single area of the store as we usually do. I have been thrifting for many many years, and the most exciting thing about visiting a thrift store is the anticipation of what treasure you will find that day. I have found so many treasures while thrifting, items that I could never buy in a regular store. I can honestly say that most of my priced hand-blown glass pieces have come from second hand stores, I also have vintage purses and clothing that complete my wardrobe that I would never find anywhere else. I am always curious to see what someone lovingly donated to the particular cause that the thrift store represents, in the case, the cause is Autism. The purpose of a thrift shop typically is to raise money for charities via the not-for-profit group. This makes my shopping at a thrift store even more exciting. I find a treasure, I help the not-for-profit group, it is a win-win! read more

Really Slow when you have to pay the manager does not help to move the line along. Also if you are looking fir a job I do not recommend to work there. The staff since you be really underpaid and so stressed. The guy in the back helping with furniture us very nice and kind but I do not for how long he will work there. Would give zero stars if I could. Everything is overpriced and the employees are extremely nasty and rude. Had one employee nastily scold us for having our kids look at the toys they sold there. Literally that was all they did. Won't be coming back. For a place that has a name like Autism thrift, you'd think they'd have some sort of standard for how employees should act. read more

This place is very small but once in awhile you can find some good deals, especially on their 1/2 price sales. Their clothes, especially dresses, are priced too high so I only buy if they are 1/2 price. I found used dresses for $20.00 and up. I can buy new for almost that! I did find a great picture with gold frame of Venice, Italy for $35.00 which when I looked it up, it was worth about $300 retail. If you are looking for something specific this might not be the place. Very small. Not much furniture but plenty of trinkets and small items. It is always busy so I guess they have a lot to offer some people. I prefer Goodwill for the variety and the prices. read more

Friendly and nice with a side of goofiness is the way I'd describe the staff here. Prices are extremely reasonable and money spent goes to a good cause. They practice social distancing and wear appropriate protection. My only complaint with today's visit was the lady that bathed in perfume. Customer service in this thrift store Boca location is negative & needs to be addressed. Rudeness is what's experience when visiting, especially one lady that's always at register. To add insult to injury, The prices are ridiculously expensive, even more so than buying brand new at a store. I don't understand why, since all this stuff was given free to them, I've donated tons of stuff myself. Wondering how the funds are allocated?? To top it off I was interested in buying a large ticket item over $300, I asked how do I know it works, the lady basically said we can't help you with that. What?!?! Are you serious? And I can't even return item if it doesn't work! At least at other thrift stores they help you, you can verify if item works & allow credit. Senior leadership or corporate needs to look into this Boca location! Okay, after reading the comment below likening this place to the attic of a condemned house after ten years, I had some real high hopes - I pretty much based my entire trip to Florida on YOUR review. But talk about an oversell! At best this place ranks somewhere between your typical Salvation Army and one of the less impressive episodes of Hoarders. When you first walk in there is definitely a lot of random stuff stacked haphazardly, and this seems promising - yeah there was a cool old Scrabble game that was missing lots of letters (which on hindsight I probably should've snatched up) but other than that it was a lot of generic, clean, fully functional items. Ho hum. Clothing left a lot to be desired. The men's section was pretty much all fairly clean and new stuff. Ughh... But I felt like I needed to buy SOMETHING so I purchased a pair of black jeans that do not fit and that I will not wear. I will say that this place is better than your average Goodwill. And there was another 'Community Family' thrift store that I really did want to check out, but it was about an hour away and my girlfriend wouldn't take me. Also, it's not actually called 'Community Family Thrift Store'. It say's 'Autism Thrift Store' on the building, FWIW. read more

When I want to give away items I no longer need, I drop them at Autism Thrift because I am very supportive of the work they do to help people. Recently, I had a large desk to give away. I called Autism Thrift and the delivery service was at my house a few days later. This was such a big help. I hope it sold soon at store. read more

I'm totally a thrifter so I have been in all kinds of stores. This one has got to be the skeeviest. It is literally like rummaging in someone's attic 10 years after the house was condemned. I could feel the souls of every original owner of every item crowding the huge open space. The managers are not discerning, they will put absolutely anything out to sell. I was not interested in spending my afternoon in this junkyard basically searching for a windshield wiper. The appliances still have food crusted all over them and the crumbs of a thousand breakfasts clinging to the trays. The clothes are NOT for trendy thrifters looking for quirky additions to their wardrobe. No, this is the place for the victims of house fires who simply need cloth to cover their naked bodies. The clothes have holes, stains, food crusted on them, and smell like middle school locker rooms. Besides all of that, the people who work there are very unfriendly. No one wanted to help me or my teenage daughter, who was less put off by this dumpster dive. I will never, ever, ever come back here. read more

as an avid thrifter, this has got to be my #1 go to thrift store in Boca.. they have color coded sales. whatever color is up that day is 50% off, then they have additional sales running as well. reasonable prices and big selection on furniture, books, clothing/accessories. i always leave with a bag of items! read more

This thrift store is a horrible place. A couple years back I came down to visit my dad. We took the bikes out one day to ride around Boca and left our bikes in our SUV for the night. The next day we found out one of our bikes were gone, thinking it was stolen. Luckily I went to this thrift store ( autism thrift store) and their was my nephews bike. I knew it was his bike because the sticker he put on the front. This thrift has people stealing items from people's yards , cars and possibly houses to put items up for sale in their store. I told the manager I wanted cameras to see who brought this bike in. She wouldn't let me view em. The manager couldn't even speak English and she was acting so sketchy when I asked for camera tape. We ended up calling the police and got the bike back by showing the police of a picture we had of the bike. This place is horrible. Not sure if they still do this kind of shit but this place needs to go out of business. read more

I am a regular customer at the store. I was very surprised when I was given a price by an employee for 2 paintings and went to pay and the woman at the register tripled the price. This is not the proper way to do business. When you are given a price for any item they should honor that price. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! my friend purchased furniture there, several items. she is in the middle of moving, waiting on the condo board. this was explained when she purchased the items, and it was agreed that the store would hold the things for a time. after just a couple days, the owner called and began charging "storage". a few more days later, one of her items was resold, and she was given a different piece with no refund-partial or otherwise-offered. she then paid for delivery to her current place and set up a time of 4ppm. my friend just received a call that the delivery had to be RIGHT NOW (12.30), or the entire deal was off. very very frustrating and probably illegal to resell a purchased item. all was paid in full, even delivery, and the owner changed the agreement at every turn. read more
