Pooh and I came here after a dentist appointment I had on Monkland. We both stuck with poutine. Pooh topped his off with sauteed onions and hamburger while I added jalapeno peppers. The fries were crisp, the sauce was great - not too salty - and just the right amount of cheese curd and extra toppings. The restaurant was very casual with lots of space and a well stocked bar. The bathroom was clean and spacious. We will definitely go back there and try out other options on the menu.

Large poutineville (15$). Very shareable!

I came with a friend on a Monday afternoon around 5 pm. Here are some pros and cons. Pros: - Extremely friendly service! The person who I assume is the manager came to greet us. He was very nice, explained the menu to us and told us that we could try a sample of anything we were unsure of. - Food: Incredible! The large poutine was more than enough for me and my friend to share. Neither one of us was super hungry, but it was still very big. The crushed potatoes are to die for! I've never had anything like that before and I am quite a fan. I was really able to taste a wine flavour in the sauce and the sauce-cheese-potato ratio was perfect! My friend believes that there was a bit too much sauce, but agree to disagree. - Very decent food: price ratio. We split the bill, so it was quite affordable for such a big meal. Cons: - The poutine was on the saltier side. It wasn't so salty that I had to constantly drink water, but salty enough that once I finished eating, I chugged the whole glass without even trying. Very minor issue though. Going into it, I knew that poutines are usually salty! Final thoughts: AMAZING! Can't wait to go back!

Coming from New York, I was thinking poutines must be really good. Sadly, I was disappointed. The food was overly salty cover in heavy sauce on top of the fries with cheese but the flavor, nonetheless, was pretty good. We got the poutineville and hangover in regular size. They are both good. Poutineville was cover in red wine sauce which wasn't my favorite sauce but it did come with lots of meat. I would never recommend anyone to get the large portion since a regular portion can feed up to two people if they are not that hungry. Even if you starving, regular size is good enough unless two of you are starving. This is a type of fast food but in a sit down restaurant.

China poutine

*Disclosure: I came here on their opening day which they offered a poutine for $1 with a purchase of a drink ($4.50). As such, I will not comment on the price-value, apart from saying that $15 was advertised on their poutine menu (hopefully it comes with something, or else, not really worth it).* Although they have unique poutine options, it is nothing special. They offer a selection of around 8 poutines which represent a specific country's cuisine. I got the china poutine which featured general Tao chicken with a general Tao sauce. The poutine was not what I was expecting. It still had the classic gravy, while only the chicken was seasoned with the general Tao sauce (which is actually what I preferred). The chicken was also lacking in size. There were only about 2 strips placed on top of the poutine with a couple pieces of breading throughout. The chicken, however, was tasty and after taking a couple bites of it, it left you wanting more. As for the actual poutine, I was underwhelmed. A little over half the plate was covered in gravy, keeping the fries and cheese curds on the other side less warm. The cheese curds were also cold, and it would've been nice if they were separated into smaller pieces rather than cold chunks. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant as there are so many more options at equal or lesser value (I believe these poutines are regular $15 each). However, I would suggest giving it a try as they do have some unique poutine options.

Just went for lunch with son - the place is lovely, it's in a great neighbourhood. Service was terrific, the Greek poutine had amazing feta and traditional curds, fun ambience. On the upper level is a bar which looks like it would be great for a casual date night.

I am always disappointed whenever a restaurant is so hyped up by public. Poutineville is one of them. New branch opened up on Queen Mary. It is a large restaurant. The welcoming service were not that friendly... you get there, they seemed satisfied to receive customer, business first then I guess customer satisfaction. I decided to build my own poutine with crushed potatoes, cheese curds sautéed onions and mushrooms, guacamole and pepper sauce. My sister got Zeus poutine made with Gyro, feta cheese, tomato sauce and red wine sauce. I also asked for the coke. Our waitress almost forgot my drink till I had to signal her. Finally, the poutines arrived. It feels, they took frozen food and thawed and cooked. My potatoes weren't even crushed. Even though my dish was nice and warm, but the taste was not genuinely fresh. Plus, we paid 40$ for the unsatisfactory meal. It was really steep; I can get better poutine for half of its of price.

Tomato Meat sauce, crushed potatoes, sausage, cheese curds and mozzarella cheese!!

There was a small 20 minute wait to get in, and they had 2 lines, one for take out and one for dine in. We had. Nice employee come by and check on us to make sure we were in the right line, so really good service right from the start! Once we got in, we ordered the large La Shoot Out (9/10 rating). This thing was loaded and it was all so good. It came with smoked meat, bacon, spicy sausage and pepperoni on top of the traditional cheese curds and gravy. Totally worth jt for $28.60 CAD. Their Blanche beer (8/10) was light and refreshing and balanced out the savory poutine. The ambiance in the restaurant was loud and busy. The tables were a tight fit and every table and seat were filled. There was some decor and throughout the restaurant. Overall, great experience to try authentic Canadian Poutine! Highly recommend!

The line wasn't too busy when we went, we waited about 20 minutes to be seated, which wasn't bad at all. But, we were told it can get long. The restaurant itself is super busy and tables are pretty close to each other. It has a cool and modern vibe to it. There is also outdoor seating. Their menu has over 20 different types of poutine. We decided to get the La shoot-out - this has smoked meat, bacon, spicy sausage, and pepperoni. We shared the large portion and it was massive. I give it a 9/10 - it was delicious! They loaded it with a lot of meat, the fries were soft with some crispiness, the gravy was soooo good, and the cheese curds were yummy. This whole concoction was great! To drink we ordered one of their beers - La Banquise Blanche - nice beer! Service was good, our waitress was nice and helpful. Overall, this a must if you are in Montreal. You can't miss eating poutine.

From the unique table designs to the imagery on the walls, reminded me of Friendly's back home. I ordered a french onion soup which was probably not the best move as we were trying to have a quick lunch, oops. I shared it and we used the excess broth for dunking our sandwich's in. Very tasty soup. Came out hot but cooled quick. Club sandwich was enjoyable. Would have been better probably on the bagel as the sandwich bread didn't quite hold well together with all the fixings in it. Overall a place I would recommend. We ordered and got our food quickly. We ordered a French onion soup, poutine and a montreal smoked meat club. The soup was pretty good, had a nice cheese top. The poutine was a nice portion to share. And the club had a good amount of meat in it. Apparently they say they're known for their cheesecake, we tried a slice. The cheesecake was rich and decadent and it was topped with the a strawberry sauce. This cheesecake didn't have a crust. Definitely good to share. Price point is good for this establishment. Seems like a family friendly sports bar.

I don't know why I was expecting a small portion of salad, but it was actually a lot, way more than I could finish. There was also a generous amount of fries, and I loved how soft the burger was. The meat was tender, the bacon was soft, and there was a good amount of veggies and a decent amount of sauce. Everything paired really well together. I find it's a great value for a trio, it keeps you full for several hours. I also got the apple caramel cheesecake. It's not a huge portion, but then again, it's cheesecake, so it's naturally rich. That said, this one felt a bit lighter than usual, so you don't get that overly heavy feeling after a slice. I do wish the crust had been a bit firmer, as it was very soft. Overall, I was quite satisfied with my meal and would definitely order it again in the future.
