We had about 135 guests, and everyone was raving about how good everything tasted. Working with Marcus was super easy from the start. He made the entire process smooth and stress-free, and he was always accommodating whenever we needed to make changes to the quotes or menu. He was friendly, professional, and genuinely great to work with. He provided the charcuterie boards for our cocktail hour, which were a huge hit, and then served BBQ for dinner. The buffet-style setup worked perfectly, and the line moved quickly. We never ran out of food, and guests kept coming up to us throughout the night to tell us how amazing everything was. They handled all the setup and even brought their trailer on-site, smoking and cooking right there at the venue which was so cool to see and added to the whole experience. On top of all that, Marcus is super affordable, especially considering that the quality of the food is truly exceptional. You get incredible value for what you pay. Both my cousin and I thought the coleslaw was an odd flavor like there was either red apple or radish in there, but we couldn't quite figure it out. A skip for me if I visit this truck again. As for the potato salad, it was fairly decent though it had large pieces of potato skins which I personally do not care for in my potato salad. Since we didn't get any actual food as I stick to a vegetarian diet mostly, I'll give it a 4 star for the sides. Overall, the service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere is what you make of where a food truck is parked. The condiment/utensils available on the ledge do make it easier for grab-and-go.

Post-pandemic, I'm loving seeing the re-emergence of food trucks throughout the Valley as well as special food truck festivals. For brick-and-mortar restaurants that also have a food truck, it is a convenient way to try new places without traveling. As Forrest Gump said, "My mom always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." The same goes for food trucks, really. When I heard that Mr. Munchies was going to be around, I checked around to see what was going to be on offer. Their Instagram had some snaps of mini-donuts and corndogs. Ooh-kay...It turns out that the menu IS corndogs and mini-donuts. Hence, there is truth in advertising the name Mr. Munchies. This food truck is not offering meals per se as much as they are snacks. I ordered the Heavyweight corndog. It was more than a typical corndog as 1/4 pound all-beef frank hand-dipped in cornbread batter and served golden brown. Add some Jalapeno cheddar and you have quite a large corndog. I have never been a corndog person but this was good. It was fried perfectly and crunchy without being dry. Perhaps my only complaint was that at $10 it seemed pricey but food prices are going up. Now, for the donuts. These are also served directly from the fryer. Mr. Munchies has several toppings and flavors available. When I asked if I could mix and match (even six and six) they said no. This totally makes sense from an operational perspective but is also a daunting choice when you are ordering a dozen of something you have never had before. I went with the Reese's Peanut Butter version since it's a flavor I know and like. They claim the mini-donuts are drizzled with Ghiradelli chocolate and Reese's. What I ended up with was a small box of flavorless dough. They weren't sweet and they really didn't have any flavor other than grease. I ate one and stopped there. It is possible that I perhaps chose the wrong flavor. They had several others including a cinnamon sugar one that would perhaps taste better. But the Reese's was an expensive flop at $8. Would I eat at Mr. Munchies again? Probably not. But it is self-described "carnival food" and when you need a quick fix, their corndogs may be the answer.

We had a smaller wedding consisting of 24 people. After the ceremony, we all went back to our venue where we had appetizers ranging from ceviche, a salsa/guacamole bar, street corn and birria chimis (my personal favorite). Sarah and Servando did an absolutely beautiful job preparing and setting up the food for our arrival. The display was beautiful; not only with the food preparation but the overall set up as well. Our guests made it back a little before us and Sarah had the foresight so save us fresh guacamole which was so incredibly thoughtful. After we had our appetizers, we sat down and enjoyed our taco bar. We had carne asada, chicken tinga and a vegan taco filling. Sarah and Servando plated the tacos we each ordered. They had multiple salsas, corn and flour tortillas, and made all of our rice and beans vegetarian upon request. The serving station moved swiftly and efficiently and everything remained warm; even to the last guest. We ended our night with warm churros. Through out our whole night, Servando and Sarah did a wonderful job clearing our dishes, rotating out fresh food and consolidating leftovers. They were both so kind, attentive and warm. I was thankful to have both of them involved in our day. The customer service alone is enough for you to want Pelon's Food Truck involved in your special day, whatever the occasion, but their prices were unbeatable as well. We were on a specific budget, so we did our homework. We shopped around and made the calls and were absolutely shocked when Sarah went through the price packages. We thought the level of service and quality of food would have been out of our budget, but were so thankful that Pelon's Food Truck was able to give us our dream wedding dinner.
