Stopped into this iconic bar/restaurant and glad I did. First off...the building is old and has a ton of character/history. Second, the people are cool. Variety of all types of people from bikers to tech nerds to golfers to blue collar workers. Third, the service was friendly and fast. Fourth, the food was yummy and scrumptious. I got a bacon cheeseburger burger and a IPA and consumed both like an industrial vacuum into my belly. Next time I am in the area, I will stop by and recommend this place to others. read more

We had a really disappointing experience at Pour House Pete's. Our group was asked to leave because one person had a vertical ID, even though it was a valid, government-issued ID. If that's the establishment's policy, that's one thing--but the way it was handled was completely unnecessary. The blonde waitress was extremely rude and passive-aggressive from the start. Instead of politely explaining the policy, she spoke to us with an attitude that made us feel unwelcome and embarrassed. Good customer service goes a long way, even when enforcing rules, and unfortunately that was completely lacking here. We understand that bars have to follow policies and make decisions about IDs, but there's no excuse for treating paying customers disrespectfully. We won't be returning, and based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend this place to others. read more

Went today for the first time since new owners. Unfortunately they had a 60th birthday party coming in an hour and a half later, but didn't tell us. We waited for we'll over an hour for our food. The food was decent. We shared the burger dip which was good, and the taqueria which were really good. The fries however were cold. Ambiance was decent. On our way home from the Carnation Farmers Market hungry and stopped in. I have to compliment Sabina. First for coming in on her day off and second for being nice to our dog. Food was good ole bar food. Tasty and considering it's 95 today I'd like to compliment kitchen staff for suffering through it and kicking us out a nice meal. The whole place is just good ole biker bar. The combination of classic 70s rock for customers like us and mariachi music from the kit only adds to its charm. 100% would recommend and will return. I love this place! This is my hometown bar. All of my friends come here to hang out when we're in town. They have gluten free options such as hamburger buns and chips with salsa. They also make great drinks! I love karaoke nights as well. The staff is wonderful and work hard to give you a great experience. 10/10 would recommend. read more

My friend suggested meeting here for lunch, and it was really good comfort food with wonderful service. She told me it's a biker bar, could I handle it? ;) Pete's is bigger than it appears from the street, and they have seating outside as well that is covered. When I walked in, the bartender greeted me and asked what I was having to drink. She offered to bring it out to me as I was meeting my friend outside. My friend ordered their taco salad which was huge! She said it was going to be her lunch and dinner. The thing was wider than her outstretched hand. She said it tasted really good. It looked good, too. I ordered the captain's plate, which had a piece of garlic toast, fries, coleslaw, shrimp and fish. I couldn't eat it all, such a generous portion. The fish and shrimp was spot on perfection for fish 'n chips, great fries, and the tartar sauce was great. We were served by the bartender and then also a waitress towards the end as we were talking for a long time. They kept our drinks coming, checked on us often and were really sweet. We could hear the jukebox being played even though we were outside which was great. The bar is dark, and you have to walk through it to get outside if that's where you want to sit. Possibly the worst food/service I've ever gone out and paid for. We are local. We've have had Great here, we've had mediocre. This was beyond Horrible! We were stopped when we walked in, told "this is for bar service only, what would you like to drink?" Uhhhh, we just walked in. Don't know yet. "Inside or outside dining?" Outside - we were given a number, quickly decided on a beer and went outside. After about 15 minutes, my husband finally went in to place our food order. I got the Camita sandwich (pulled pork and BBQ) and salad, my husband got the, always good, fish and chips. The cook brought out our order, no salad, that's ok, he went back to get it. No condiments, napkins, utensils.... My husband went back to get dressing for the salad. They gave him 1 dressing and 1 sour cream. The Camita looked like a McDonalds hamburger that might have been run over by a car. Does that sandwich look like anything you would be excited to eat? There was 2 tablespoons of meat. The flavor was good, but tasted old with soggy cilantro... We LOVE Pete's beer battered fries, they are wonderful and a special treat...WTH??? Where are the awesome beer battered fries????? These were nothing more than out of a cash N carry bag. The fish was not the same standard that we have had in the past, large filets, beautifully battered, cooked to perfection. They were little chunks just shy of not being fully cooked. We had to find the vinegar, and we never did see any tarter. Who wants fish without tarter? The beers were good. Never did see a waitress after we were stopped at the front door and accosted for our drink order. Guess we will be hitting Carnation Cafe or Blue Heron for friday night drinks and close to home dinner out. We always look forward to our Friday nights. Carnation's "Pour House" - Disappointed in our visit this last week. Had such high hopes after the conversations about how it was going to be cleaned up when it was sold and closed about a year ago. The menu is designed to take advantage of the 'mathematically challenged'. a. The "lunch special" features the 'pour house burger' (without fries) for $12.99, and then add fries for an additional "2.59". A total of $15.58 for burger with fries. But ... if you order the regular 'pour house burger', which comes with fries, you pay the regular menu price of $14.99. The 'lunch special' means you received the 'special' treatment of paying more for being a sucker. b. The 1/2 order of nachos during 'happy hour' costs $9.99. But a full order of nachos costs $14.99. I guess the 'happy 'hour' is for the owner, who gets to charge a premium to mathematically challenged customers during happy hour. My final comment ... while the pricing seems a bit odd, the worst part of the experience was that the food was unremarkable and the service can best be described as underwhelming with a topping of indifference. Went here with my 94 year old father. We came on opening night and had a great time. Didn't order food. Seen some bad reviews but decided to give them a chance for dinner tonight. Came in, ordered pints all around. Drinks came and then ten minutes later the waitress shows up to tell us ordering food (in a empty house; granted there were folks outside) will be an hour to an hour and a half due to staffing issues? My wife and I have wanted to try Pete's since they changed owners (and names). Today after a bit of Kayaking locally, we stopped in for lunch and ate on the patio. The staff was pleasant and attentive. The menu was interesting with tavern favorites and a few twists. Since I'm doing the Keto thing I opted for the cobb salad. Grilled chicken, Hard boiled egg, bleu cheese crumples, bacon, tomatoes, and greens. My wife ordered the chef salad. The non-green portions of both salads was quite generous. Best onion rings I've ever had! Mac and cheese bites are amazing. Every time I go I'm sure to run into a friend, if not the staff.

The wifey and I stopped in here before a music festival that was happening over the weekend, and I must say it's much bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. Once inside, there's a lot of people-watching to be had since the clientele includes regulars, motorcycle riders (I'm talking about the guys who wear the same leather jackets and park in a line out front, which you secretly want to kick and watch them all fall like domino's like in the movies) to newbies like us. The health department gives this place an "Excellent" rating, which is encouraging, but realize that this rating is graded on a curve within an area so it cannot be compared to ratings outside of Carnation. But nonetheless it reinforced our decision to eat there. We ordered a taco salad which was really good and cooked fresh - even the outer taco shell. I also got a burger that initially arrived with a burnt bun, which the bartender immediately and happily replaced with a more lightly toasted bun. They also didn't charge us for soda water, which is a plus in my book and shows they don't nickel-and-dime their customers like some other fancier bars and restaurants do. Speaking of service, we interacted with at least three different staff members who were all polite and attentive on the Saturday afternoon we visited. We did not take part in some of the activities they offer such as a pool table or a few older video games, nor did we site on the patio - although it's nice that these are options. The only downside is that they serve their beer in plastic cups. The water and everything else was served in glass, but not the beer. I personally prefer drinking my beer from a proper mug, but given all the other great things about this bar it's definitely not enough to knock down a full star. read more

We used to love this place years ago when it was just Pete's. Then things started to go down hill with food and service, so we stopped going for two years. When it reopened under new ownership, we decided to try it out. Love the old bar, interior decor and outside beer garden (with frequent live music). However, the food was just so so. This is a "folksy" bar & grill, that attracts a lot of bikers. On some nights, there are rows of motorcycles parked out front. They have a small outside beer garden with tables too and feature live musical acts on some nights. The food was OK, but the place was oddly dead in the late afternoon. I have driven by this bar & grill for over 20+ years, so I brought my wife and son to try it out. Typical yuppie family orders burgers and gets pretty good food It was a bit too quiet for my liking despite having a music venue in the back. I felt like the few people/staff there were studying our every move like a science project as we ate our burgers and were listening in our comments. The acoustics of the place apparently make that easy. You could call this "attentive service", but I found it more than slightly creepy. Apparently, they don't get a lot of normal family types in there since they seem primarily like drinking venue. While the food was good, I didn't like the ambiance or the feel of the place. I knocked a star off for that. It reminded me of a movie scene, where you walked into the wrong bar. There are far better options for lunch and dinner nearby in town. (Ixtapa, Carnation Cafe, Sam's Noodle Town). If you wanna drink some beer, and goto the only bar in town, go for it. read more

We had a great dinner here BC (Before Covid). Good comfort food. On a side note, I just wanted to say how much we appreciated Becky. It was our first time, and we are always very particular with where we eat out due to the fact that our son has Autism. Becky from the get go was VERY nice to him and seemed to have a natural sense of how to communicate best with him. It made the entire dining experience special. I know it seems like a little thing, but there needs to be more good people like Becky in this world. We will definitely be going again, hopefully soon! read more
