Robin Retail Park is a nice complex, it has improved a lot since my last visit and now features…read moremany more stores. Brands located here include JD Sports, Sports Direct, Marks and Spencer Simply Food, Boots, Argos, EE and Next. The location is easily accessed, with a large car park, with buses serving the area nearby. It is also a stone's throw away from the DW Stadium, home to Wigan Athletic FC and Wigan Warriors. A large ASDA supermarket is also nearby. The retail park doesn't have much of an online presence, I couldn't find a list of stores and restaurants located here anywhere, which was pretty frustrating. In terms of eating and drinking, the selection is good for fast food with Subway, Greggs, KFC and Burger King have outlets here, the latter two being drive-thrus. The only coffee shop would be Costa (inside Next), in terms of more of a restaurant, there is a Nando's in the process of being constructed (September 2021), but it isn't much else. 3* - A-OK, there is a good selection of stores here.

I find this absolutely ridiculous as there is just not enough time to use the shops in a relaxed way. I intend to boycott the retail park and protest. I am most unhappy about this situation. Thank you. Kind regards Gary K Tame

The store itself is quite large with mostly wide aisles that are easy to get about, although sometimes wire baskets of goods can be in the middle of the aisle blocking the way through a little. The stock is cheap and cheerful but often you can get a bargain of a big brand end of line item or a useful gadget and for only £1 you will probably find something useful. Stationery items are usually a good buy particularly at back to school times when you can get the kids kitted out for very little. Only two tills on the checkouts so often a bit of a queue to pay but the staff are quite quick to get through the queues.

Makro is a wholesale store similar to Costco. It sells a wide range of goods all under one roof…read morewhether it is food, electrical appliances or video games. The store mainly attracts those who own businesses as items are usually sold in bulks, hence you have to become a member which requires certain eligibility. Prices do not include VAT until you reach the checkout so this is something to be wary of. However, it is a great store that you could probably spend a good few hours browsing. Prices in general are affordable and not overly expensive. The location in Liverpool is rather in an isolated position with it being in an industrial estate and away from the main road. Most people have to have a car to use this store which makes sense when you're buying products in bulk form!

The facilities inside the store are good, and it even features a Pharmacy, Cafe as well as products or concessions from multiple brands including Accessorize, Decathlon, Timpson, Greggs and even a Post Office! The selection in terms of groceries was also pretty good, I did find the store a little hard to follow, struggling to find certain products at first. They seemed to stock most of the items you'd expect to find in an ASDA, I still prefer the product ranges available at Tesco and Sainsbury's, who I feel have a better selection of brands, but this store was pretty good for an ASDA. There is a large car park, however, do be careful if approaching as a pedestrian, one of the main crossings is on a sharp corner, which is poorly lit, meaning it is difficult to see if any cars are coming, as it is a blind spot, this would be dangerous in the middle of the day, which almost caused me to get run over, let alone in the dark nights - with winter coming, they need to sort it out as it's a safety hazard. 4*

If parking doesn't matter to you, it's easily accessible on foot, and bus services run through it via several bus stops, and the stop at Horwich Parkway Rail Station. It can get congested around match days and the such, as there's only really two ways in and out, and both clog up quite quickly. If you need a laundry basket, a plastic storage box, a bin, tupperware boxes or any sort of moulded plastic item, then you can probably find it outside this shop. Inside they sell tools, kitchen ware and electrical goods as well as the odd children's colouring book, sets of gel pens etc. I once went in and was browsing around when a mad drunk woman entered the shop and started abusing the man behind the counter. He dealt with her really well, even if it did involve getting the police to come over. The staff are generally friendly, and you can bargain with them if you're looking for an even bigger discount.
