CostCo is a large retail store selling items mostly in bulk from toothpaste, drinks, crisp, cereal to singular items such as perfumes/colognes, clothes, TV, jewellery etc. If you want to waste money, go to CostCo! I went to the one in Derby and although it had many items and it was a reasonably humongous store, it's nothing compared to the USA especially the free samples! There is also a Pizza Parlour where one can have freshly made pizza made by CostCo staff. I've heard they're good but never tried any so when you do , let me know! There are too many good things to say about CostCo but that'll fill a few pages. However, the negative is that it's members only and one has to be one of the following as far as I can remember : Occupation: Bank/Finance Education Local government / police force / fire and rescue service Civil service / armed forces Post office Medical health service such as the NHS Airline Insurance Qualified as : Certified or chartered Accountant Doctors / opticians / dentist / pharmacist Chartered architect Chartered engineer / civil etc Chartered surveyor Individual membership costs around £30 including VAT whilst Trade costs £24 a year. The CostCo Gold card would be double the prices at a slight discount. Note: * Be wary of the VAT as it's not included in the prices however, the total sum is always summarised near the product. * The owner and primary user of the membership card can take two people in with them when shopping at a time. If it's children, they have to be under 16 and can go in as two pairs.

Usually, food is sold in bulk as it is a wholesaler so it is ideal for business buyers. You have to be a member of a business to benefit from Costco's affordable prices but don't forget to add on the VAT which they don't include until the end when you reach checkout. All in all, it is a unique store that you won't find in many places. A lot of consumers rely on Costco and it deserves full credit for its quality products. After a tired shop, you can enjoy a hot meal of hot dogs or pizzas at their little self-service restaurant which serves a variety of hot and soft drinks too. By the way, cold drinks can be topped up free of charge which is cool!

To my surprise, I was impressed to see how much this fabrics, hobby and home store had to offer. Inside is literally packed full of material in piles that look like an organised random mess! Most of the items they sell will attract the hobbyist such as arts and crafts material, stationery and needlework. They also have a variety of hobby books, cheap fashion jewellery and accessories. There is nothing really more you could ask for and for the prices they sell at, it works out a bargain apart from the more high-end material like animal fur. Common items, for example wool and cotton are inexpensive. If you are into any of the above criteria, I would highly recommend a visit to Abakhan's as the shop is jam packed with bits and pieces.

Over two floors, Abakhan's provides reams and reams of all kinds of cloths, fabrics and textiles at very cheap wholesale prices. If you're the type who is in the business of dress making or interior design or just partake in such activities as a hobby then you can't go on much longer if you haven't found Abakhan's or one of the smaller stores along this road. The membership is even valid internationally at all their worldwide locations! Perfect if you love buying in bulk and having a cheap bite to eat afterward as the hot food is delicious and an amazing value (see photos). Love Costco and respect their business practices.
