The Asda/Walmart Supercentre is huge. Apart from the usual supermarket facilities there is a post office, film processing centre, opticians, chemist and cafe.
The actual store carries a huge range of stock from George clothing, electrical items, films and music, computer games, mobile phones, kitchenware, car accessories, diy, furniture, white goods, bikes, sports equipment, bedlinen, bathroom accessories, lighting, soft furnishings, toys, games, seasonal items, plants, flowers, newsagents, shoes, and every range of foodstuffs you can think of.
There is plenty of parking including mother and baby and disabled facilities. There are toilet facilities and baby changing facilities within the store and plenty of disabled scooters available for use. Staff are very helpful and go out of their way to assist, there are a large number of checkouts available although at quieter times only a handful may be open. There are also self scan checkouts for people with smaller amounts of purchases. Aisles are wide and well signed, shelves are kept well stocked mostly. If you are planning on using a disabled scooter avoid late evenings as aisles can often be partially blocked with cages of stock being put out by shelf stackers, making it very difficult to navigate the store, stock levels are also low at these times and some fresh items may be unavailable.
The cafe is fine for a quick snack and hot drinks, but the actual meals are overcooked/dry and best avoided. A free refill is included with hot and cold drinks, free baby food and food wrming facilities are available as well as the usual high chairs etc. Often difficult to navigate the cafe for wheelchair users but staff are alwys willing to help out.
There are also several cash machines at the store and a change counting machine in the foyer. read more
