The brand new Tesco Superstore in Litherland opened not so long ago and is situated in a convenient…read morelocation nearby Bootle making it easy to reach for locals. This Tesco is unique because it is the largest Tesco I have ever been to and it sells a wide range of products and offers extra departments such as electrical, digital photo printing and also has a cafeteria which is ideal for families and friends. In addition, it has the usual delicious bakery, deli, fish and meat sections and hosts a clothes section. Toilets are easily accessible as well as disabled. The number of tills does not fall short and there is the option of self-service checkout with all the space you require. All this means it's your shop-in-one! Another plus to mention is that car parking is spacious. There are trolley bays everywhere with zebra crossings for pedestrians so access to and from the supermarket which is ideal.

I don't want to offend, but the dregs of soceity. I can say this without fear of reprimand however as I am now a cooltrader convert! Two packs of Cadbury's chocolate fingers for £1? Eight Weight Watcher's yoghurts for £1? It's a bargain hunters heaven. It isn't a beautiful shop and the biscuits and confectionary is stocked unbelievably close to the rather pungent smelling pet food but it doesn't deserve the reputation really!
Lidl is a supermarket selling a wide selection of groceries and frozen, chilled and tinned food…read more They also sell a range of cosmetics. I am a frequent visitor at Lidl because their food is reasonable and of good quality and they also sell an abundance of European products; at times they have special promotional offers at different times of the year related to a certain country such as Greek week (i.e. dedicated to selling extra Greek delicacies). This particular branch is spacious and their freezers, shelves and fridges are packed full of variety which is what makes this store unique and the alternative to your typical Tesco or Asda. In addition, they sometimes sell DIY tool, computer equipment and garden accessories depending on the time of year. Above all, Lidl is a convenient German supermarket most suitable for all types of shoppers. There are no shortcomings on quality which is good.
Lidl is located on Stanley Road, not far from the Strand shopping centre. They have their own (free)…read morecar park which is very handy. The store itself is exactly like the supermarkets in Germany. It's a very basic layout with food on shelves on either side of the aisles. In the middle section of the shop, they have the weekly bargains (usually homewares or clothing) in basket type displays. There is a wide range of products at bargain prices. Much of the food is European imported, mainly Germany. It's a great place to try something a little different, and at the low prices and high quality, you can't really complain!
Tesco Metro recently opened in County Road a few months ago, replacing the old Somerfield. It was a…read morewelcome sight once it emerged because it is a shop that the area of Walton needs since there previously wasn't a Tesco nearby. By the looks of it, it has inevitably become a popular place to shop for locals. It is a small store but by observation, they have squeezed in a wider variety of products compared to the Metro store in the city centre. This is all good and well, but it has its drawbacks as I did find that aisles where tightly crammed. If you have a trolley, then it is difficult to manoeuvre especially when it is busy. Even though well-organised, it appears this branch has attempted to squash too many items in. Personally, I do prefer a more spacious shopping environment and here would not be the choice for me unless I really had to.

It has a pantry fresh that is not the good and i wouldn't recommend (see the review for that). The shop has never not had what i need and is well laid out. Not long ago it was remodeled and re styled and it looks alot better since, they even had an open day giving out balloons etc. They have the fridge section at the back a the dry food, tinned section towards the front, as well as an alcohol and wine section (please be aware you have to be 21 to buy from her not 18 like most places).
