Poundworld was the first poundshop to open in wigan town centre. A little bit out the way of the main shopping area but worth a visit for the odd bargain that you may pick up. The store itself is quite large with mostly wide aisles that are easy to get about, although sometimes wire baskets of goods can be in the middle of the aisle blocking the way through a little.
The stock is cheap and cheerful but often you can get a bargain of a big brand end of line item or a useful gadget and for only £1 you will probably find something useful.
Stationery items are usually a good buy particularly at back to school times when you can get the kids kitted out for very little.
Only two tills on the checkouts so often a bit of a queue to pay but the staff are quite quick to get through the queues. read more
