Jill saw me right away because of pain. Everything was taken care of at my visit. I was not even one or her regular patients.

I had a life threatening experience on 11/25/25 with Dr. Ratchford when she recently opened her new…read moreoffice in Cambria. She was supposed to prep for a broken crown. She asked if she could use a jaw opener because it helped her work. I didn't know what it was and agreed. Once it was in my mouth I was thoroughly incapacitated from the intensity of the pain and pressure on my jaw and palate. She didn't do any work, instead told me there was a cavity and I needed a root canal, both things she would have already seen on the xrays. She pushed me back in the chair, no water, and left me for just under an hour at a slant backwards. When she pulled me up, I was very dizzy. No water, no help, no offer of help. The temp she put in was only half of a tooth. She did not remove the half of the broken crown still in my mouth, so the assistants struggled to make it and were only able to make a half a temp. The doctor stuck a blob of cement on it and stuck it in, no sanding, no water, nothing. I wobbled badly when I got up, so dizzy. They all gasped, but no one offered water or help. There was a time when I couldn't gulp and it was scary. All she did was write a referral to someone to do the root canal, but she also requested that they remove the cavity. When I asked her why it was taking so long, she told me all appointments are 2 hours. I am a senior with a severe disability in my neck which I went out of my way to tell her beforehand. Look it up people, what she did to me could have been fatal. She had no reason to use the jaw opener either. She has refused to repay me $902. When I requested the refund, instead she sent me a check for less than half along with a stack of new charges for this appointment where she did nothing. I have the evidence for all of the above. BEWARE!!!

Oral Surgeons are the last thing I thought I would ever take the time to submit a review on, but…read morethe service and care I have received from both Dr. Bush and Dr. Weaver warrant my time. I had an impacted Wisdom tooth and a very large cyst partially removed from my lower left jaw. To further complicate the issue, I had developed a bad infection from that Wisdom tooth. Needless to say, the entire staff from reception, dental assistants, scheduling, and of course the Doctors themselves were very professional, helpful, caring, and had more than enough time for me to ask all my questions and get honest, professional answers. The procedure itself was "a walk in the park" and post treatment instructions were very clear and precise. But what I wanted to comment on, was the follow up I received from CCOMS after my bill was paid and most surgeons would move on to their next patient. I have been back 5 times (within 2 weeks of the surgery) between Dr. Bush and Dr. Weaver for post treatment exams and "check-ups" just to keep an eye on me and how my partial cyst removal is healing..... ALL WITHOUT CHARGE! Never have I been to any type of doctor without being asked for a copay or charging my insurance. Can't say enough how happy I am that CCOMS has been my provider of oral surgery. Obviously I hope I never have to use their services again, but if I do, it will truly be painless.

But his credentials look good so I still considered him. I asked for a second opinion and paid another $150 to talk to Dr. Bush in the same practice. I was willing to do that to get the best care. Ultimately, I chose Dr. Weaver because he is also an MD and I would need to be put under. Today was supposed to be my surgery. I arrived on time and waited in the office for an hour. When I asked what was going on, the reception said they were behind and fixing up two rooms for the other person in the lobby so the surgeon could work on us both. What?? I am here for surgery, not a tandem get er' done fix it. To top it off, at that moment, after waiting an hour, I found out I had been booked with Dr. Bush and not the doctor I had requested! Everything felt wrong, so I asked for a refund and left the office. This is the first time I have felt the need to write a review for a business, it was shockingly bad.

I've been through a complicated journey with facial trauma from a serious car accident years ago,…read morewhere my face hit a metal dashboard. Because of that injury, I needed orthodontic treatment as part of preparation for corrective jaw surgery -- it wasn't cosmetic, it was medically necessary. When I first visited this office in San Luis Obispo, the doctor suggested single jaw surgery instead of double jaw surgery, which would have cut my costs in half. While I appreciated the effort to save money, this recommendation didn't align with my surgeon's plan for proper correction. The office itself raised concerns. Their website and messaging mirrored my original surgeon's office, causing confusion. Months into treatment, after consulting with my surgeon and other specialists to confirm the surgical plan, I received a call demanding $800 for an evaluation fee. Much of this evaluation relied on imaging that was never conducted, and when I questioned it, the response was aggressive and dismissive. Orthodontic care for trauma-related jaw surgery requires close coordination with your surgeon. In this office, that coordination felt secondary to billing and aggressive collection tactics. While the doctor may have been well-intentioned, the office's practices left me frustrated and concerned. If you are dealing with medically necessary orthodontic treatment, especially after facial trauma, I strongly urge caution: Confirm your orthodontic plan aligns with your surgeon's recommendations Get a full itemized breakdown of fees and services Know your rights to transfer or modify care if treatment plans change I'm now back under the care of my trusted surgeon and hope to continue treatment safely. I share this review to warn patients to verify that the office truly supports medically necessary care before committing.

I like how they call you afterwards to make sure you're doing okay post op. I don't like how one assistant kept leaning into me with tools in my neck while the doctor was performing my surgery. Overall the procedure was quick and mostly painless. They definitely overestimate when telling you how long something may take. I was there for a consultation for my son to remove his wisdom teeth. The office has zero parking so not a great start. We sat in the waiting room for 1 HOUR, even after telling them I had to pick up my daughter at the end of the hour. No acknowledgement of me, my son, my time or 'hey, sorry we are backed up today.' After 45 minutes, I was moved to a room with a movie about wisdom teeth removal, which I asked to skip due to time constraints. Then was moved to another room and the doctor walked in and with 2 minutes to spare before I had to leave and the "doctor" said yes he needs the teeth removed and then left. And then they just sent me a bill for $324 for a consultation. WTF?! If a doctor doesn't respect my time, then I can be sure they do not respect my person or my health. Find a new office!

I had an appointment with him yesterday at 2:00 p.m., after taking my blood pressure (which was high) he decided not to perform any treatment. He wanted me to come back next Monday apparently he thought my blood pressure would somehow come down to within "normal limits" by that time. I told him that I had high blood pressure and was on a new medication to no avail. I came home and called Delta Dental and enquired if they would cover dentistry done out of the country and to my surprise they said that they would reimburse me for services rendered outside of the U.S. As I'm going to Thailand soon I'll have the dental work done in Thailand for less than 50% of the cost here in California. It turns out that the dentist (who is from India) did me a great favor by not doing any work on my teeth because of my elevated blood pressure. I noticed that the dentist seemed more interested is exerting some sort of control over my time than he was in doing dentistry. I suppose that it's possible that he thinks the caste system in India exists here in America. My advice to anyone needing dental work is to go to Mexico or Thailand and have your dental work done, Delta dental will reimburse you and you'll pay less than 50% of the cost here in California. The cost for my treatment here in Cambria would have been $2,475.00 in Thailand it will be less than half of that and the dentists in Thailand are well educated and professional. There is no caste system in Thailand. The cost savings will pay for my airfare.
