We got our food right away and everything was hot. They were also SO NICE. Ambience is also very homey: they have a karaoke machine in the corner! (Very Filipino home type of vibes which is fun) Fried chicken is the star of the show here. It's perfectly juicy, crispy on the outside and the seasoning they use is making me salivate as I think of it right now. So good! The spaghetti was alright - I thought it would be like Filipino spaghetti but it's less like that. You can also get it with fries! It's super awesome because they also have buko pandan, and it is NOT TO MISS! Please order it - well worth it! Overall, I think this is one of my new favourite gems in Montreal. Super sweet staff, great food, homey vibes. What's not to love?!

I did not know what to expect but as I visited one it is essentially using the chipotle model of build your own bowl and selecting your accoutrements. It's a simple menu consisting of chicken, seasoned in your choice of 4 flavors with 5 choices of base (brown rice, bulgar wheat, quinoa, lettuce or kale), 7 choices of sauce and vegetable toppings. Ordering was relatively easy starting with size of portion then based on size you can choose how you want your chicken flavored. Workers then assemble the bowl right in front of you production line style starting with the base, vegetable toppings, sauce and finally the chicken which is grilled then flavored and put in the bowl. The process went smooth and quick as they were really efficient with the assembly line. The taste of the flavorings in the chicken as well as the sauces made for a wonderful lunch. I was stuffed not sure how full I would be with the Rouge Bowl, I think I should have went with a mini. If you are in Canada, find a Poulet Rouge as it was a tasty and quick meal that was really delicious and fresh.

The staff were super friendly and walked us through the ordering process. They gave us great insight into the meat flavor options and their favorites. I chose the volcano chicken which wasn't very spicy but was VERY flavorful. This is the kind of healthy, quick meal I love. The interior of the restaurant is kept very clean and there's ample seating. I will be returning!

The Short Version: Chicken shop near Concordia University…read more Sells fried chicken and chicken rice/salad bowls. I had a chicken bowl and it was pretty good. The Long Version: My husband and I got 2 chicken rice bowls from Poulet Royal and overall it was good. We got the 3 pieces of grilled chicken bowl which comes with 2 bases, a sauce and 7 toppings. It's $13.99 a bowl in-store, but UberEats was having a BOGO (buy one get one free) deal for $16.99. We got double brown rice as our base. We didn't get a second different base because the only other one included in the price was white rice. There was an extra charge for quinoa or salad bases. For the sauce we got piri-piri and for toppings we got lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, beets, pineapple, bell peppers and shredded cheese. The rice wasn't hot, it was kind of room temperature and it had some clumps, but the toppings were good. They tasted fresh and were nicely diced. The chicken pieces were smallish but were real breast meat. The piri-piri sauce had a good amount of spicy kick. The bowl looked shallow but the portion size was good. I actually didn't finish mine, but my husband gladly ate the rest of mine as he finished his long before I was done, lol. The place was pretty busy and filled with university students as it's right by Concordia University. The space inside is small but there are a few seats to dine in. Pickup was good. Staff were courteous. Street parking only. Review #62 (2026)

I've tried many, many that are famous or with a good reputation and was never able to reach more then 3 stars. Here? It's perfect! We took the big cow, which is 4 crispy chicken with waffle fries and 2 sauce choice. You can add drinks and other but we took simply the basic. The waffle fries where fluffy with a little crispness to them, just like I like them. The chicken was very hot (freshly cooked), properly crisp on the outside, juicy and tender in the inside. The was nice big chunk of chicken, not just single small strip. The box also contained a fair amount of waffle fries. The sauce we tried where the bbq and spicy mayo. Both where very good. It's a small little place, perfect for a quick bite that will surely fill you. For us, 2 chicken strip each with the waffles fries was enough for the lunch. The staff that grated us was very polite and helpful. She warned me the first sauce I selected bbq royal, was just a simple brown sauce which allowed me to switch to regular bbq since it wasn't what I wanted. I'll be sure to comeback.

We ordered a 3 piece (brown meat) and a bag of popcorn chicken. It arrived after 35-40 mins cuz we live a bit far and I was despairing that it would be a soggy, cold, sad mess. Instead, I opened the packaging (super cute btw), and was greeted by 3 gorgeously breaded fried pieces of chicken sitting gloriously on top of massive amounts of perfectly still crispy cavendish fries. How amazing of a chef must you be to keep fried chicken and fries this fresh after a 30 mins drive?! And the taste!! It was ridiculously moist on the inside, still warm (not piping hot of course), and that breading was one of the best I've ever tasted. Light, slight kick of spice, and super crispy. Fries were fantastic as well especially given how quickly cavendish fries can get mushy. These were crisp on the outside, and soft potatoey on the inside. The best part of the meal was the sauces. We ordered hoisin and wildflower hot honey. Holy hell was that wildflower hot honey good!! Had to wrestle it out of my husband's clutches and even then fight over drippings in the box. It's like a fancy Buffalo sauce, but with much higher quality ingredients and an addictive taste that went so well with everything else. Can't speak about service since we doordashed, but prices were a bit on the expensive side. Nonetheless, we now have a new fav spot for high tier fried chicken and it's Roch Le Coq!

Whenever I don't know what to eat but still want something good (and not too heavy), this is usually it. The chicken is always solid. Juicy, well cooked, and actually seasoned properly, which is not always the case at places like this. You can tell it's marinated and not just grilled plain. I usually get a bowl and load it up with veggies and a sauce or two. The sauces are really what make it for me -- flavorful but not overpowering, and they don't taste artificial. What I like is that you can build the bowl however you want. Some days I go lighter, other days I'm hungry and add more. Portions are decent and I usually feel full after, not stuffed but satisfied. Price feels fair for what you get. The place itself is clean and simple, nothing fancy but comfortable. Staff has been nice every time I've gone. Sometimes it's busy, but they still move pretty fast and don't make you feel rushed or ignored. It's not "fine dining" obviously, but it's reliable. And that matters. If you're looking for something fresh, filling, and easy, Poulet Rouge is a good choice. I'd recommend it, especially if you're tired of greasy fast food.
