The hosts were very nice, knowledgeable and accommodating. The grounds were in meticulous condition. It is definitely worth the very reasonable rates. The campground is very quiet, the sites allow plenty of room and there are a couple fishing (Bass) ponds on the grounds. One of the quietest campgrounds I have been to in quite a while. It is a shanty. We walked in to the office and got hit with the Thousand Trails sales pitch before we could even check in. My guess is that they put you in the ghetto section if you are not a member. Our site was not level and the 30amp would not work. We had to use a 50amp adapter. We paid for 3 nights but we were tired and needed some rest so we got out of there the next morning. Gross! We give this place 5 YUKS. Keep driving!

And NO....it is not clean as a whistle. Since 2014 they have four reviews. This speaks volumes. The place has NOTHING going for it. Wide open, hot as hell in the Summer with no shade and bees everywhere. If you leave anything out during the week, expect it gone when you return. Imagine being among people who steal from you. Report it to the office and they do NOTHING and say they haven't heard of any other reports. Report to the police and they tell you they have been out there MANY TIMES with people reporting things stolen. No activities at all. NOTHING. They have some lazy really fat guy named Fred Weber going around in a golf cart complaining about the children riding their bikes too fast. What the heck is too fast? If you have any plans on even thinking of this dump, call the police first and ask them the history with reports of items stolen first. Pay more money, go somewhere else, and have an enjoyable vacation. Could I give ZERO stars?

Unfortunately. We were on the wrong side of the tracks for this stay. Hardly worth the $60 during the end of season. The site was dirty with trash and a fire pit that wasn't cleaned. Our picnic table had muddy dog prints all over it and the water connection was less than 6 inches off the ground and just above the sewer connection, which made attaching sewer connections impossible. They have posted 9 pm quiet hours, yet our 9 pm late arriving seasonal neighbors were loudly partying and drinking until well after 1 AM. Quiet hours simply are not enforced. Fortunately, we only had one night remaining, cut this trip short, just not worth the money we are spendjng.

It's hard to believe this quiet riverfront campground is so close to Portland, Maine, and all the amazing restaurants, lighthouses, and coastal attractions nearby. One day I was kayaking on the river surrounded by nature, and the next I was exploring Portland Head Light and enjoying dinner by the waterfront -- the perfect mix of peace and adventure. Even though it's just a short drive to town, it truly feels like you're in the middle of nowhere -- calm, private, and surrounded by trees and the sound of the river. Little or no staff were seen around the property. Bathrooms are outdated and in need of repair. Definitely not being maintained as well as when the campground was privately owned. Since the national chain Spacious Skies took over several seasonal campers have left dissatisfied with the changes and price increases.

Not even a night stand/table. Everything just had to sit on the floor (where pincher bugs got on clothes!) TV didn't work; no remote. Pretty on the outside and inside....still----Don't recommend!!!
