We rented a Lake Bluff Cabin, it has a screened in porch and a stove top to cook on. If you rent a cabin, you'll have most of items you need like pots pans, plates, utensils but you need to pack pillows and linens. My sister rented the white pines cabin and had a full stove to cook with (nice) but no screened in porch. Highly recommend renting the golf cart, it's pricey but if you can afford to splurge a little the kids will love it and it was one of the highlights of our trip or you could also bring your bikes. The pool is great, not too deep about 3.6in and there were 2 warming tubs! Note the Picnic food trailer doesn't open until 1pm, which is kind of late. The food was decent and priced reasonably. Even the ice cream was delicious but they were down to only 3 flavors by day 2 of our visit. Make sure you sign up in advance for activities as they fill up fast. Mini golf was complimentary and some of the activities had a small fee ( very reasonable ) On certain nights you can preorder a seafood dinner and pick it up at the ranger station, we got the lobster and bbq chicken and the kids chicken tenders. It was delicious and perfect when you don't feel like cooking. There is not much for food around the area unless you feel like going on a 20-30 ride so pack accordingly. Tips: Bring bug spray and bug itch cream, you will need it! Pack 2 towels for each person if you can. One for pool and one for cabin. Bring some lighting for nighttime if you plan to be outside. On our visit Wi-Fi was only available at recreation center be prepared to let the kids use your hot spot. Download their app! It's helpful! We can't wait to visit again!

Turtle Kraal Campground is the dumpiest of dumps…read more There is NO WAY this place takes your breath away like another poster said unless you're talking about what a dump it is like another poster said. And NO....it is not clean as a whistle. Since 2014 they have four reviews. This speaks volumes. The place has NOTHING going for it. Wide open, hot as hell in the Summer with no shade and bees everywhere. If you leave anything out during the week, expect it gone when you return. Imagine being among people who steal from you. Report it to the office and they do NOTHING and say they haven't heard of any other reports. Report to the police and they tell you they have been out there MANY TIMES with people reporting things stolen. No activities at all. NOTHING. They have some lazy really fat guy named Fred Weber going around in a golf cart complaining about the children riding their bikes too fast. What the heck is too fast? If you have any plans on even thinking of this dump, call the police first and ask them the history with reports of items stolen first. Pay more money, go somewhere else, and have an enjoyable vacation. Could I give ZERO stars?

Unfortunately. We were on the wrong side of the tracks for this stay. Hardly worth the $60 during the end of season. The site was dirty with trash and a fire pit that wasn't cleaned. Our picnic table had muddy dog prints all over it and the water connection was less than 6 inches off the ground and just above the sewer connection, which made attaching sewer connections impossible. They have posted 9 pm quiet hours, yet our 9 pm late arriving seasonal neighbors were loudly partying and drinking until well after 1 AM. Quiet hours simply are not enforced. Fortunately, we only had one night remaining, cut this trip short, just not worth the money we are spendjng.

According to my Google search it appears that there is over 80 acres here but it feels smaller probably due to the fact that the park is split between the swimming beach area and the RV camp ground area. The park opens at 9 AM but the line forms earlier, early arrivals get to choose the choicest picnic table locations. This is a super clean well cared for area that is great for day long waterfront activities. What you will find. Parking for about 200 cars, but the spaces are not lined so likely will hold far less. Entry fee for the beach area is $5 per adult and under that for children, see my photo showing fees. Walking trail (ADA accessible) to the beach, takes you past a open air pavilion with multiple picnic tables some with extended overhangs for wheelchair access. You will also pass a volley ball area, well kept porta potties, cold beverage vending machines, a small convenience store, and well equipped children's playground. A coarse sand beach area of about 700 feet, its nice and wide leading back to tree shaded lawns where you will find 100 or so picnic tables positioned far enough apart to give everyone some privacy. There are many BBQ pits and hibachi type grills located amongst the sites, I didn't see any signs posting that you couldn't bring your own grills but there are some banning fire pits and or camp fires. Also both sections of this park are NOT PET friendly so leave fido at home. Overall if you want a low budget day long family getaway this is a wonderful place to have it. If you find this review helpful please give it a thumbs up.

This was in the middle of a 2 month trip and we simply needed an answer, so we could make other arrangements if we couldn't get in. I called and emailed Red Apple 3-4 times a week. Silent for 6 months. Then when they finally returned calls, they did t go in order received. One friend got a call and got a poor site, with his first call to them two months after all of our calls. When they did call back, the woman was incredibly rude. She offered me the only site available and said, "we have regular returning customers", who we book earlier than our normal calendar and they book a year in advance. This would have been nice to know. My discussion with this woman, wasn't about the site, but was how they advertise. She wanted to argue and could only repeat that she was NOW returning my call (months later and weeks after the park was open) and said "take it or leave it. Traveling with 5 others, we had to leave it and found an amazing RV Park a few miles away. The employee there welcomed all of us. What a contrast. Especially after booking at 25 other rv Parks on this trip. I had heard this is a nice park. I don't doubt that, but what a disappointment. No zero's available for this park, but def zero for their reservations and favoritism system.
