We are now on our second year of renting a seasonal site here and could not be more pleased. We are full time retired campers. Hemlock is a very safe place to stay. The staff is always helpful and courteous. The campground does not have a pool, however, the beach is only a 15min drive. We purchased a beach pass for the summer, at a reasonable price. We have tried many of the campgrounds in the Wells/Kennebunk area and this is by far one of the top ones. The sites are mostly wooded but not overgrown and everything is kept neat and clean. The staff is very friendly and attentive to your needs. Located on Route 1, it is very easy to access and close to many area attractions. read more

We only stayed one night here but it was a very nice night at that! The host was super friendly, helpful and accommodating. The grounds themselves are immaculately well kept and unbelievably clean, I kept looking around wondering if they'd just opened recently (especially given how clean the bathrooms were). The sites are pretty open (for better or worse) and there's some noise from the nearby traffic but neither of those things really detracted from the quality of the campground overall. I would happily stay here again in the future. read more

We stayed at Hemlock Grove in July 2018. It's the most beautifully maintained campground we've ever experienced. Very convenient in that it's right on Rt 1 in Arundel, but off the road and very wooded so you feel like you are in a more remote location. Lots to do in the area. The owners care a lot about whether you have a good experience. They told us about their plans to expand. Exciting that they plan a walking trail and additional sites. We will definitely return! We would choose a site that is not on the exit road next time. read more

Place is def geared for family who wants quiet. Settled away from the tourist attractions in old orchard beach makes this place very boring and not geared for touring. If your looking to get away for the weekend to do nothing this place is great. Clean bathrooms and showers. Showers with plenty of hot water. Office staff treat everyone like family. read more

Beautiful campground in a great location with a friendly staff. We enjoyed our stay at the beautiful place. It is very clean and neat here and the sites are plenty large enough. All hookups were good and placed nice. Walking around we liked many or most of the sites we saw. Really look forward to a return trip. read more

Great place to relax nice large sites, owners are very friendly. Make sure you ask how Stanley and Buttons are doing. We try to get here each year.If we were closer it would be a monthly stay. Lots of trees very relaxing. Close to the beach and shopping. read more

Great campground. Just completed a 3 day stay in our 5th wheel in early June. Campground has wooded sites, nice and level with full hook-ups if desired. The sites are spacious. The bathrooms are very clean and modern. The wifi worked great and the owners are friendly and can give good recommendations for visiting the area. This is an excellent place to stay and enjoy beautiful Kennebunkport and Kennebunk. It's also close to Wells and close enough to Ogunquit. We will come back. Be sure to bring your bug spray. This is in the woods of Maine. Wonderful restaurants at all price levels in the area. Pedro's is great Mexican with a nice outdoor patio. read more

Hemlock is a beautiful family owned campground. The owners Jim and Audrey (with Buttons of course) were so friendly and helpful giving us tips and must sees in the area. Sites were woodsy and pretty private and the bathhouse was as clean as my bathroom at home. Water, wifi, and electric site was a good price. Had such a great experience there. I took off a star because of the proximity to the highway which can be good and bad, good because it's easy to find and close to everything, bad because cheerful twittering birds and honking semis make a bad chorus combination. read more

I stayed here in July of 2013 and can't wait to go back! It is in a great location right between Old Orchard Beach and Ogunquit beach (about twenty minutes away). Not only is it close to these beaches, but Kennebunk beach and Mother's Beach are right around the corner (the campground also offers a free parking pass to any of the beaches in Kennebunk). The sites are big and secluded and the bathrooms and showers are spotless. If you want a quiet campground away from the busy touristy areas but close enough to enjoy the beaches, shopping, restaurants and lobsters, Hemlock Grove in Arundel is the campground for you. The owners are also friendly and knowledgeable. Lastly, a lobster market is located directly across the street that will steam and deliver lobsters for you. Also, there is a supermarket close by for firewood and things you might of forgotten. read more

So this is the 2018 update. While we love the campground, shady, relatively quiet, clean and well landscaped there is an issue. This campground will not guarantee a site. In the past our group anywhere from 7-12 sites have never had a problem and the campground was accommodating. This time however despite the fact our group made reservations in Jan/Feb and were given site numbers 3 of 7 sites within our group were changed. When I asked who was where I was told the one site requested to back up to the woods which was an outright lie, then when i mentioned his reservation for that site and challenged is reasoning I was told we had a large group (only 7 sites this year) and that is was a peak time of the summer and that DO NOT guarantee specific sites (which it does say). Our group will not be going back and support this campground any longer. read more

very nice campground, well maintained. Friendly owners. Very quiet. As for not allowing bikes, we are big time bikers and they let us know in advance that the campground doesn't allow bikes. We knew this going in. We stay at Bentleys as well and like it there too, but the firing bikes up and partying till daylight keeps you from getting a good night's sleep. This place is quiet, private, secure and we loved it. We will be back. Don't forget to stop in at the office and say hello to Buttons the bulldog. read more

Greedy, greedy, greedy! Wife was injured 5 days before our reservation started. We wanted to reschedule our stay but they would not give us credit for our deposit (50% of total fee) because we did not give them 10 days notice of cancellation of the original dates. I explained that injury just occurred and offered a doctors note, but their refund policy is cast in stone. read more

This place is horrible. The bathrooms are disgusting, Jim the owner is very rude. The campsites are basically on top of each other so there is no privacy. If you're looking for a nice place to stay, this is not it. Worst campground ever. read more
