We saw an ad for this store on the side of the road so we decided to stop inside and check it out. At first glance, there are a lot of things in this store from pecan trays to candy, fudge, and ice cream. There is also a lot of merchandise from shirts to jewelry. These prices were a bit steep and the staff while friendly didn't really engage with us as they were in a conversation with each other the entire time. So we left without buying anything. read more

I love this place!!! I stop every time I travel past. They have the best pecans!!! I usually find a trinket or two to get as well. The gals at the cash register are always nice and helpful and they have a rewards card for every $25 you spend. There are two locations, I prefer the larger one on the north side of I-10. Also I have ordered pecans on their website and that worked out good, I was able to specify which type of pecan I wanted. read more

Went in on a whim, passing through. The lady that walked up was SUPER sweet & easy to talk to. She offered many samples. All were awesome! Super cute little store. Potter Country Store has a ton of other pecan goodies such as chocolate covered (sugar free option too), chili flavored, pies, and pralines. They also carried jerky, preserves, and fudge not to mention jewelry and all kinds of knick knacks and odds and ends. Traveling through the area and needed to stretch our legs. The signs caught our attention so we had to stop. The employees were friendly and offered us samples. There are a lot of fun gift items, this would be a great place to shop for Texas souvenirs. They also sell hand scooped Blue Bell ice cream. This place had it all! Great customer service, a huge selection of everything you could want, and private air conditioned bathrooms! When we walked in we were greater with warm fresh samples of caramel pecans and red velvet pecans. The store is super cute and pecan themed, but there is also everything under the sun in terms of nic-nacks and candies. Some highlights include: wine scented candles, Texas shirts, shower bombs, soaps, jams, truffles, soda/coffee counter and a whole fudge counter. We ended up getting truffles and fudge to take with us back on the road. The women gave us all types of tips on how to make the fudge keep during our drive and silverware so we could cut and share the pieces! They are so nice here, I recommend anyone stop by and say hello :) read more

It's not selling pottery. It's nuts. This is a sister 'Potter' store, creating a sometimes confusing 'hairy' situation on directions, and thus, "Harry Potter" comes to mind. This is a newer, small, cute, red shack on the South side of I-10, a branch of the larger store on the North side. This is designed to catch traffic going East or West. And, no, I do not think some wizard cast a spell to create this small version from the larger, nor is it a Gaunt Shack or Shriek Shack. The shack is set back from the street, but there is a nut sign next to the gas station lot (which is not a "Shell" station, so I couldn't Crack that joke). What's that smell? Amortentia? Maybe. Here, there are no chestnuts roasted by miniature dragons; just pecans covered with cinnamon and sugar roasting by electrical heat, and packaged fresh in those Cone-shaped bags. The packaged fresh pecans are indeed fresh and tasty. Pecans prepared in many ways are available. Samples I tasted proved it. Oops! You're only supposed to taste one. Rationalization: I bought a bag. Besides the many ways they prepare and coat pecans, there are jellies, hot sauces and gifts. Everything seems overpriced to me. Oops! Now they probably regret letting me have more than one sample. If I had read Harry Potter books or watched the movies (or collaborated with Daniel L) this review would contain more references. At least I ran a Spell check. read more

Love stopping by here in my way to San Antonio. I always drop by and grab me some nuts and on this occasion I picked up a lot snow man that sat on my living room table. They always have lots of cool gifts and deserts. Do yourself a favor and drop in I also find that depending on the season they will add different flavors to their pecans. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The aroma or roasting pecans welcomes you to the store - that does more to make us buy product than the tastings. There are plenty of samples to try and it is wise to do so. The names don't do justice to what the tongue discovers. It's advertised as a pecan store which is what drew me in. As I walked in i was greeted with friendly smile and a sample of warm: red velvet, cinnamon, and caramel pecans. They were amazing! I've been a customer for over 6 years this year 2022 they sent the wrong order unshelled pecans instead of inshell I spent 187.00 for this order I live in Los Angeles they want me to send some food that's been at my home back before they send the right order out this was a mistake they made it will take appropriate 3 weeks or more before I would receive my correct order plus there asking for nuts back to re sell to another customer that's been at my home for several days smh read more

This is a really great pit stop for stretching your legs on a long TX road trip. Very friendly sales associates who are approachable but not overbearing. They let you look and don't hover or pester. There is a ton of neat stuff to look at and plenty of fun samples of nuts and snacks to try before you buy. Just a precious Texas themed store right next to Oakridge Farms in Schulenberg. We picked up a few treats before we started our trip to San Antonio. The shop is nice. But those pecans! Those pecans are gorgeously tasty. We were greeted with a pleasant smiling lady, with a tray of fresh warm flavored pecans. It was samples of red velvet, cinnamon, and caramel. I took all three. I popped the red velvet in first and my mind was blown. I never had anything other then plain pecans before, and that warm smooth texture with a slight crunch, just swept my taste buds away. While I was walking around the store checking out its unique inventory. I couldn't get my mind off of savoring the pecans.
