I have bullion stored at Strata Trust and the Texas Precious Metals Depository (TPMD), and I was told that I can visit those deposits at any time if I apply for a visit. Applications to visit are reviewed by the custodian, Strata Trust. The application requires the make, model, color and license plate of the vehicle you use to visit their facility. Using my personal vehicle would require driving 1500 miles over 3 days each way. Instead, I opted to fly to Texas, rent a vehicle, provide the necessary information, wait for 2 days in a Texas hotel for the application to be approved before visiting. I discussed this plan and schedule extensively with Strata Trust before buying airline tickets and lodging in Texas. I was in contact with both Strata and TPMD before traveling to Texas, and after I arrived in Texas on Tuesday, I gave Strata my vehicle details with the intent of visiting the depository on Friday, but, as of Friday, I had not received approval from Strata or TPMD as of 10 AM. I did talk with Strata at 11 AM, and they said they received my vehicle info and would get the approved application to TPMD immediately and that I could expect a call from them shortly. By 1 PM I had not received a call from TPMD, so I called them. They told me in no uncertain terms that I was not allowed to visit. They said that with a Strata application in hand they would then have to "schedule" a visit well beyond my scheduled Saturday departure. I have a brother who is a skeptic about bullion. He asks, "Do you really know you have it?" At this point, I am becoming suspicious. I would have made different decisions had I known I could not visit. Their vehicle policy alone creates a massive barrier for everyone visiting. They (or a local Uber) could simply pick people up at a rendezvous point (ex. a parking lot) and taxi them to the facility. Sent the info in and never heard back from them, so I called today and was told I need to furnish more info. The check was from my business account and they wanted me to go to my bank and get a letter to send them. per their web sight the order would not be sent until the payment was complete? Asked Kieth just to cancel the order, (Which he done it without charging me the deposit), because there are plenty of places that will take my money. Then I get an e-mail saying they had canceled the order and blocked me from buying from them in the future. And they sent it to my business e-mail. TPM's eBay store occasionally offers some really hot deals just over spot price, but (in my experience) generally has bullion priced at too much over spot for my tastes. (I'm a close point buyer -- I pay as close to spot as I can, bull market or bear.) The TPM bullion itself has a very high purity, though, and the designs are sharp, crisp, and -- while not downright gorgeous -- attractive enough. Fast shipping, honest pricing, and all around terrific customer service. I understand that Texas Precious Metals has a healthy working relationship with another Texas-based firm (Goldstar Trust) for those who need precious metal IRAs and remote storage. Texas Precious Metals is first class in my book. Like many, I am leery of on line sellers so I do my due diligence. TMP passed this test (which is important) but more importantly they passed the performance test as well. My first transaction was for me a large purchase of around $17,000. It could not have gone smoother or with less worries. The product was flawless and the shipping was fast (very unlike my first purchase from a larger, more nationally know seller) On my second purchase, I used their limit order option. It too worked flawlessly and I got my purchase for over 3% less due to a sharp overnight drop in prices which immediately corrected upon market open. Not bad... while I was sleeping....TPM was watching the market for me and executing my trade. In summary... highly recommended. I spent over $130K w/ TPM so go spin your disingenuous response on someone else! I never asked TPM to do anything for "Free" I wanted to be treated Fairly. You lost a sale because you where unreasonable about your margin. A sale you will never makeup and approximately a two thousand dollar commission (25 bars resold & premium on 34 MS62) that went to your competition. I have bought a bunch from these guys when things were rocking and rolling in the oil patch and I was not disappointed. My brother and three sisters bought as well when they saw how easy it was. It's as easy as ordering something from Amazon dot com. My first metals purchase was from a dealer in Austin that stiffed me with a commission after we had made the deal. It was only 60 oz of silver but it left a bad impression. Another major dealer just basically flat out told me that after placing an order with them I would get my silver when ever the market dictated because of supply and demand issues... Yeah Right. I wanted to try out these guys, since they offer free shipping on PM's with no limit on how much you purchase. You can buy a single round or coin for 20 bucks and it's still free shipping. Pretty cool I thought. I set up my account and tried buy a Silver Eagle with an E-check, since that's the cheapest method. The order seemed to go through. Later, I got an email and they asked me to send a picture of my drivers license and also a picture of me holding my drivers license. I wasn't comfortable doing that since every other dealer I go through (SD Bullion, JM Bullion, Apmex, etc.) has never asked for that info with an E-check. So I told them to cancel my order. A day later I attempted to log on to my account to buy with a credit card instead, and they had removed my account entirely. What a jerk move! I will never buy from these guys, ever. read more

I did my due diligence for weeks. I followed the market spot prices and Kitco before making my first 1 ounce gold purchase. I found another site with slightly lower prices and decent reviews. However, they had some issues via reviews on delivery time. Tex Metals had great reviews including UPS overnight delivery. So I decided to go with them as this was a gift and I wanted it sooner than later. My bank gives me free wires so I used that form of payment. I received an email at purchase, when they received the wire and when shipping took place. They shipped on Weds I got it Thursday morning. It was well packaged and required a signature. The Perth bar was vacuumed wrapped and looks good. I would do business with them again. Oh and the customer service was helpful every time I contacted them. Minimum orders are 1K and this includes free overnight insured shipping. Using a bank wire (fastest) or personal check by mail are the best way to save some dough (4%). read more

I don't know what happened with the person who is complaining, but my experience with this company was excellent. They only hold a credit card until payment is received, as they did with my transactions. They are friendly, professional, and sensitive to customer satisfaction. I like the fact you can pay through your bank's billpay if you order more than the personal check maximum they allow. This allows you to avoid costly wiring charges. The only thing that went wrong was that the UPS driver left my packaged coins on my doorstep without the necessary signature. This wasn't Texas Precious Metals fault, but they did contact their UPS account representative to voice a complaint. I will continue to order from them. read more

I placed an $8K order online this Thursday morning around 10:30 am EST - made it to the bank and had the wire transfer to them by their 1:00 pm CST cut off, hoping that it would ship Friday and arrive Monday. I called them about an hour later to ask if my item would ship out the next day (Friday.) The customer service person was very friendly and helpful. I told her I was hoping for a Monday delivery as I was currently on vacation and would be home / able to sign for the package. She asked if I would be home tomorrow.. I said Umm yes.. She said "well let's see if we can get this out today for you, I'll call down to the vault and see what we can do." An hour later I got the UPS email saying the package had shipped. She also called back to verify this about a half hour later. I received it today (Friday) around 11:30 am. THAT IS SERVICE! 25 HOUR SHIPPING! YMMV but I am VERY happy with this company. Some people are just too dumb to know how lucky they are. I don't know why TPM gave John Confrancesco his deposit back, I would not have, a contract is a contract, giving your word should count for something, even in today's world of "I'm the center of the universe" PC idiots. I have ordered from TPM for years, and am very happy with the service. My only complaint is that word of mouth has spread about their prices and service until they are too busy on some days. In the old days I would call and the same guy would always answer within 2-3 rings and take the order. Now there is a receptionist and several sales people. On one super outstanding price crash morning the cost of my total order went up $100 while I waited 4-5 min to talk to a salesman (I guess I'm not the only one that likes a bargain), which was completely my fault, because they have made ordering straight from their web site so simple. Since that day I have only ordered straight from the site. I follow silver and gold prices and when they get down to a good buy price I get on the TPM site and lock in the price immediately.
