The market runs every Tuesday from May 19 through September 29, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. I especially love coming here for the fresh fruits and veggies, locally handmade goods, and freshly baked bread. I'm also a huge fan of local honey and swear by its health benefits! Kingdom Sunrise Acres has a booth here, and I can honestly tell when I go without their honey because my allergies start acting up. I also love browsing all the cute shops and vendor booths. They make the entire experience feel like more than just a farmers market--it's a fun little Tuesday-night outing! There's plenty to enjoy beyond the market, too. Kindred on the Creek has an awesome happy hour and the cutest outdoor seating right along the Greenbelt. I enjoyed their Viognier, with its delicate aromas of honeysuckle and pear, along with their happy-hour charcuterie board--the perfect pairing for relaxing outside! The live music and bands give the whole area such a fun, lively energy, and there are outdoor fountains for the kids to run through. I had no idea how many lights they put up, and hadn't seen their new ice skating rink either. The downtown is just brimming with holiday cheer, colorful lights, and ice skating, even music. I guess I didn't fully understand the sheer volume of Christmas lights they put up, but it's enough that you have to walk all the way around and across the river to see it all! It's incredible, and they have some really cool "features" that I wasn't expecting to see. Such fun! It was raining when we went, but the combination of the people, places, lights, excitement, and the magic of all almost made the rain delightful. :) The whole experience brought me so much joy. I've been so stressed lately with all the holiday "stuff" that needs to be done that I forgot what the season was about. My visit to Indian Creek Plaza really brought things into focus for me...not just because of the lights, but because the lights serve as a reminder of the joy, the people, love, and time together is what really makes the holidays so special. Go visit. Take a friend, or your family, or both. Make an evening of it. Grab some coffee or a slice of pizza together, and explore the lights, the creek, and just enjoy each other's company.

And this shop is right down the road from me? This sounds convenient and great! Walking in I didn't know what to expect. As soon as you walk in, you see a fun play area for the kiddos. To the side of the shop is the coffee bar and tables for parents or guests to hang out at. I approached the coffee bar and checked out the drink menu. There were 3 people working behind the counter. I was patiently waiting to get greeted as I didn't want to interrupt a full conversation they were having with another guest. Honestly I did stand there for a minute cause they were too busy chatting. After what seemed like an abnormal amount of time to let someone just stand there I was finally greeted. The gal behind the register seemed new. I got my drink ordered with her and checked out the joint while it was getting made. Not gonna lie, this concept is dope. A big play area that your little one can play in while you're enjoying your coffee. There's books, toys, a small play house with a slide. I did notice a baby who was about 1 playing with a squishy rocking horse. He was really enjoying himself. The floors are also padded so it creates a nice cushion for your kiddos. I would bring my kid here to play while I get some chill time and be able to enjoy a drink. You can't completely take your eyes off of them. The walls for the enclosure is kinda high and you can't see what they are doing if you're sitting at one of the tables. My drink finally got finished. Their small drinks are 16 oz. I was worried that my drink would be watered down cause of the extra 4 oz. Some joints fill the 4 extra oz with water which defeats the whole purpose of getting an americano. But surprisingly it wasn't. The espresso was very noticeable. The sugar free vanilla and cream was all balanced in my drink. I really enjoyed it! I don't have kids in this age group to really use this joint for what is used for but the coffee was good! And they serve food and baked goodies here. It's great that this place is conveniently down the road from me. It great to have another local joint I can go to and support for my daily caffeinated beverage.

The Guide: Allison Frazier * Vinyasa Flow We began in Malasana. A gentle sway. Then stillness. The studio's earlier practice had focused on Shakti: movement, energy, creation. Now, the focus turned to Shiva: pure awareness, the consciousness beneath it all. Allison invited us to set an intention. If nothing arose, she offered: So Hum. I am. Something arose immediately: I am clarity. Then we moved. Slowly. From all fours, one leg extended. Hands walked forward. The body bowed. Breathe. The other side. Breathe. We gradually climbed toward standing and began to flow. At first, frustration surfaced. Annoyance. Surprise at both. The pace was unfamiliar. I didn't know what was coming or where we were going. Without momentum, there was nowhere for patterns to hide. And yet... the breath remained steady. The room held its warmth. Allison's guidance held the way. This is one of yoga's quiet powers: It creates the space to notice what arises without having to become it. Irritation was present. Peace was present. Neither canceled the other. I could hold both and keep moving. Eventually, resistance gave way. Allison guided us slowly and steadily, weaving So Hum back and forth across the mat. Standing Bow became Airplane, not through momentum, but through attention. Let go of judgment. Let go of expectations. Surrender. Be here now. Pose. Breath. Stillness. Movement. The Sound: A meditative soundscape shaped by mantra and South Asian contemplative traditions. Near the end, peppermint drifted through the room as the music carried its own message: I honor the consciousness within. The Space & Place: Red Yoga is essentially one open room: the entrance, cubbies & practice area sharing one sanctuary. Mirrors. Dark wood. Soft curtains. Warm light. Small contemplative figures listen, look inward, and offer reverence. Summary: Allison closed by honoring the place within where the entire universe resides. The practice had made room for all of it: movement and stillness, irritation and peace, our patterns and the awareness witnessing it. When we meet in that place, we are not separate. We are one. Field Note: Stillness was not the absence of movement or emotion. It was the awareness that remained while everything else moved.
