A significant majority were boxes. The number of movers should have been decided by the company, and clearly not us. The moving crew arrived one hour late, deducting one hour from the freight elevator reserve time in the apartment complex. This meant that the movers had to wait for the regular elevator in a 20-floor building. While we were eventually refunded the amount for this delay, it was incredibly stressful to have movers protest, call their boss to ask for more movers, and practically not do any moving for at least 25 minutes. It is less so how much we were charged in the end, but more how slow the managers were to resolve our issues, to the point of our repeated calls being ignored until we called from a different number.

(It is standard/included that we will wrap any furniture, tvs, artwork that need to be wrapped)". The owner says we didn't tell them about art beforehand. It was also on the inventory sheet. They asked for the value ($7600) & receipts for the claim. Now he says we are "bullying" for sending that information & are negligent for not adding additional insurance. Buy all the insurance, not for accidents, but to protect from "industry standard" packing. --- We always strive to provide a great moving experience; however, occasionally we fall short. We are sincerely sorry that we didn't meet your expectations and for the damage to your items. That said, to state that we were negligent and careless is absurd. Our procedures for your move were at or above industry standard in every way. Unfortunately, there is always a risk for items to get damaged during a move, whether you move them yourself or hire a moving company. Just because you may have decided to do something differently if you were moving the items yourself or if you were managing our crew, does not mean that our procedures are negligent. Frankly, I would consider your decision to have us move what you are now calling "priceless" items without ever telling us about them beforehand, and choosing to proceed with the bare minimum liability coverage for the move, as negligence on your part. As stated, our legal liability for the damage in your claim is $150. We care about our customers and always try to make things right, which is why we rarely, if ever, offer the bare minimum liability amount even when the customer chose not to obtain higher coverage. However, your expectation that we pay you $7,600 for this damage is beyond ridiculous. Even if you purchased full valuation coverage (which you did not), you would not be entitled to that amount. Even full valuation legally covers the repair of the item, and then the depreciated replacement value if repair is not possible. So, in the case of the scratch on the table leg, scratch on the bed footer, and the broken drawer hinge, we would be responsible for professionally fixing the two scratches and replacing the hinge, which comes nowhere close to the $2,900 you are requesting for those three items. All of that can be done for $100 - $200 combined. In the case of the frame and painting, the solution under full valuation would also be to have both the frame and canvases professionally repaired (which is likely possible), or to cover the depreciated replacement value if repair is not possible. Again, for these items, even under full valuation, the amount would be lower than what you are requesting. With all that said, you chose to proceed with the minimum liability coverage. Yet, we are generously offering $600 (four times our legal liability), as that is likely enough to cover the majority of the cost to repair the scratches, replace or repair of the hinge, and to repair the frame and canvases. While we understand that you are upset and want us to pay you $7,600 for these items, we are in no way responsible for paying you the full cost of your furniture and artwork due to scratches/damage that can be repaired, and we will not be bullied into a situation which is well beyond reasonable. Please let us know if you would like us to credit the $600 back to your card or to mail you a check. Marc

Last night at 7:45 pm I called Brian F. for help moving some items out of a storage unit…read more I had previously arranged this with ReSupply -Habitat for Humanity's service for items they cannot use in their ReStores. They confirmed the night before, that morning, at 2 pm, at 3 pm, at 3:30 pm and at 3:48 pm they said they weren't coming. This was already after canceling the first day and moving the pick-up out 3 days. Needless to say I was in a sweat. The unit had to be empty the day ReSupply bagged on me. I got a 1 day extension from the storage facility to avoid paying for another full month. So - back to Brian at Suburban Solutions. He answered his personal phone at 7:45pm and was personable and promised they would help. Today (31 Aug 2023) at 1:30 pm, he and 3 fellows showed up as promised at the storage facility and took away some heavy furniture and drove it off to be donated. Above and beyond what I wished for... I am very happy. A+ Brian!

AVOID! DRIVER FELL ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL, $48K OF PROPERTY DAMAGED, REPEATEDLY LIED TO BY OWNER…read more This was our 3rd move with Suburban Solutions. I now wish that number was 0. Here's why: - They got into a major accident destroying much of our stuff - They lied about it straight to our faces in an attempt to cover it up - They told us they would cover the repair costs but then backed out for most costs Suburban Solutions is the worst and most dishonest company I've ever done business with. See excruciating details and cringe-worthy photos below, then decide whether this is the company you want to entrust with the contents of your home. First, the Suburban Solutions driver got into a major accident causing major damage. Brian, the OWNER of Suburban Solutions, called to say the damage was limited to front corner of the truck, and that he would take care of repairing the broken furniture. He said the driver was run off the road by another vehicle. Then he provided misinformation about the date and location making it harder to track down the police report (which told the truth of what actually happened - yeah, keep reading!). When our property arrived, the damage was much more severe. Several furniture pieces were broken beyond repair and almost all were battered. Most of our smaller items had been repacked into new boxes - along with dirt and weeds from the side of the road. Once he realized the extent of the damage, Brian reneged, saying he would only cover repairs for some (cheaper) items. He found vendors he said were rated 4.9, but they were 4.1. One vendor we called said they FIRED HIM as a client because they refused to do business the way he was trying to get them to. He told us the items would be fully repaired, but behind our back he told those vendors to only fix things minimally and ignore any dents, scratches, etc. We were without a sofa for weeks while he said repairs were in progress. We later learned he had refused to authorize the repairs so instead the sofa just sat there untouched. Our items were in pristine condition at the time of the move and Brian personally commented on how beautifully maintained everything was during the walkthrough. Thankfully, our renter's insurance applied, but when our claims adjustor spoke to him, he lied yet again, telling them that the pieces were in bad shape initially, hoping to deflect responsibility. Hold on, it gets better! A week after the move, the driver texted us to inform us that Brian had actually been LYING the whole time and had required him to play along! The driver had fallen asleep at the wheel while going 70mph. The truck overturned and the top of the truck broke off completely. Our stuff was smashed and dumped all over the side of the road. We were finally able to obtain the police report which confirmed the driver's version of the facts. This happened in the middle of the afternoon on day 2 of the journey after the driver picked up his cousin using the moving truck on day 1. Why was his cousin with him at all? And what were they doing the night before that caused him to doze off at 4pm? Regardless, according to the driver, he had called Brian an hour before the accident to tell him he was falling asleep, but Brian told him to keep going anyway. Brian has since fired the driver and reported to FMCSA that the driver has a "medical condition" that should prohibit him driving in the future. This was never disclosed to us, and if Brian knew about it, then why was he on the road in the first place? Or was this just another tactic for him to deflect blame away from himself? Look, accidents happen 1 in 10,000 times and we drew the short straw. It sucks. It's a low risk for you. But the outrageous lies that followed (and perhaps even led to the accident) were intentional, unprofessional, and fraudulent. Suburban Solutions lied then doubled down to save face after throwing our stuff - and our lives - into complete chaos for the next 6 weeks. They treated their previously loyal customers like total chumps. Hopefully this review and our formal complaint to BBB proves how badly their attempted cover-up backfired. In case Brian tries to reply to this and explain things off with more lies or sugarcoating, I've included photos of the state of our items, written exchanges with him (contact info redacted, of course), text exchanges with the driver (same), and the police report itself. Take a look for yourself. Then ask yourself: Are you willing to risk that this same thing happens to you? Are you willing to do business with a company whose owner will lie directly to your face after wrecking your life? You and your belongings deserve better. And Suburban Solutions deserves to be out of business.

When I was able to pull up to his truck to talk with him, he immeditaely began yelling at me that I hit him....Sir.........if you are a a driver for a company i would HOPE that you have a basic understanding of the following: "Vehicles that do not enter a traffic lane safely are responsible for any incidents that occur as a result of their entry into the lane. In a similar manner, when a merging driver changing lanes cause a collision, the merging vehicle is almost always to blame." If my car is stationary in a lane, and you hit me changing langes, YOU are at fault. I digress..... When he would not reason, I called the owner of the company (who I previously very breifly called immediately following the incident) and left a voicemail to which he NEVER responded. Due to this, a police report must be filed to get my damages repaired. Just know.....if you are willing to hire this company, their workers are not only negligent, but will also scream roadside at young women, with NO care from owner/management.

I needed local moving help and was having the hardest time finding companies that weren't charging high rates and were available in a short timeframe between Maryland and DC. I found Get It Done through Craigslist and looked them up on Yelp, requested a quote, and within a couple of hours had gotten a response and very reasonable price range. Charles was very responsive and had flexible times 2-3 days out for a local move. He communicated when his truck had an issue causing him to be about an hour late, but it was all fine in my situation since I was moving from a storage unit to a condo where I didn't have to be moved out by a certain time/day. He and his teammate moved my things over to the 26' truck with care and drove it about 30 miles into DC. They carefully parked in the loading dock, loaded the elevator and unloaded things where I wanted them. They even helped fix the legs on my sofa that came loose during cross country transit in a pod. Total time was about 3 hours with transit. Charles even gave me a veterans discount on top of his very reasonable price. Much appreciated! They got everything moved without a scratch on anything, and honestly, they're the fastest movers I've ever seen. James said he treats moving like Tetris, and he and Jesse did an excellent job getting lots of boxes and furniture safely onto dollies. I also appreciated how they triaged the types of furniture and loaded so many things onto multiple dollies in order to take it all down the elevator in as few trips as possible. From a pandemic perspective, they wore masks during the move, and I didn't feel any concerns. When I had to sign final paperwork at my old place, they headed to the new place and informed the concierge of our arrival to get the loading dock ready--now that's service! They just left about an hour ago, and I've already recommended Capitol Hill Haulers to a friend who is also moving soon. Big ups to CHH and to James & Jesse!
