We stayed at some phenomenal places during our Argentina trip, but Postales was our first and favorite. Driving into the Postales property immediately puts your mind at ease. Driving along the tree-shaded driveway, that opens to gardens, and the small adobe farm-style home makes you feel like you have been transported somewhere else. There is ample covered parking. There is nothing here that screams hotel. It truly feels like you are being welcomed into your extended cousin's home. There are only a handful of guest rooms, and they all open onto the property gardens, vineyards, and pool with stunning view of the Andes mountains. Postales has a simplistic countryside charm. The rooms are spacious, clean, with traditional high cane ceilings. They have nice modern art touches, with antique furniture. The beds though are the highlight. The best hotel beds I have EVER slept in. I wish I could have taken the beds home. Best nights sleep ever.
The staff welcomed us like family and were incredibly friendly the entire visit. I wish we could have stayed here longer. We found it very hard to leave. The ambiance, people, food, and experience was stellar.
I saved the best for last, the kitchen. I don't know who was cooking the food. But, the restaurant here served the best food we had on our entire trip. We were constantly comparing Buenos Aires restaurant food to this spot. Postales set the bar high. This was authentic fresh Argentinian food. Their food is sourced from their own vegetable garden, and from local purveyors. The restaurant setting is casual and homelike. We ate the best here of our entire trip. The wine selection was also good. They selected quality wines from wineries in the area. Save room for dessert, because that was stellar as well. The complimentary breakfast that was included with our room rate was custom made to our order. It was brought out as we came in, and it was heavenly. One night we were here we had a special treat. They had a special traditional style asado bbq. I feel like this spot is a hidden gem that I want to keep my own secret. If I had enough money, I would fly here each year for a visit. read more
