The services offered are typical of a normal Post Office, the staff seem friendly enough but service is slow, and they do tend to be a little understaffed. As it is only a small Post Office kiosk, there aren't any self-service kiosks. Opening hours are pretty good and include Sundays. REMEMBER: You need to pay for packaging/envelopes etc at the main NewsPoint till, this is a little annoying as it means having to queue at two different check stands in a small store when most Post Office locations combine the two. 3* - A basic Post Office, but in a good location, which is very useful if you need to post/return something or use other Post Office services while shopping at The Trafford Centre, the staff are also friendly.

It's certainly proved to be very useful to us over the years. The Trafford Centre Post Office is located right at the end of the main mall, near John Lewis. It's a very small Post Office, and it often gets very busy: I've had to queue from outside the shop on more than one occasion. But the staff are friendly and helpful and have always seemed to have dealt with the long queues efficiently. All in all, therefore, no complaints.

I must make particular reference to Dawn, who has the patience of a saint and never fails to give service with a smile.

I went in there to post a package to Germany. For some reason the man behind the counter found this fact hilarious and proceeded to talk to his colleague in his native language for a good couple of minutes whilst gesturing at me. The staff seemed more focussed on selling the disco balls and ghastly home decorations and assorted electrical goods available in their 'shop' which took over half the post office than they did in serving customers. Goodbye and good riddance lousy old post office. Hello and welcome to new posh post office complete with electronic 'cashier number three pleeeease' system, friendly and efficient staff and a small shop which sells useful things such as jiffy bags and sellotape. Just how a post office should be. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't make a special trip to this post office if it wasn't just at the end of my road, but it is soooo much better than the old post office.

Eccles New Road Post Office - WARNING! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I paid for a delivery bag, they posted without. Denied it. Now I'm £150 out of pocket because of their laziness

Aside from being a post office, this is also half convinience store. So they have an average range of essentials to pick up when doing any post which is handy. It used to close at noon on Wednesdays but that got scrapped earlier this year. If going in a lunch hour be prepared to queue. Having its location close to the Quays I think any office workers all go during their lunch breaks, so betweek 12 and 2 it can get rather busy (not unusual for many businesses I guess). I try and aim just before or just after those times when it is a lot quieter. There is free on road parking for around 10 cars directly outside after the bus stop, but due to there being a couple of other shops next to the post office these can fill up, however if you take the road next left then there is ample space around the back where you can also park for free.

When I apologised that I didn't know that he then interrogated me - why didn't I tell him that I had it first. I replied that it seems to be like cash so I assumed you use it in the same way. He said I would have to pay with cash - I didn't have any on me - I apologised profusely which was making no difference at all - I asked if it was that important and it is a huge pain and irreversible, why don't you ask how customers are going to pay at the start of the transaction. He retorted that he's been doing his job 19 years and doesn't need telling how to do it, it also was implausible that he should have to do that when it was even easier for me to just give him the card in the first place (easy if you know though!). Mr Ali advised me to read the T's & C's on the leaflet provided with the card. Sadly I do not carry around things like this with me, as I doubt any sane (or insane) person would. If this is really important and a major factor in the transaction then I suggest the card carry a message which reads - please hand to employer before transaction. I suspect that handing over my Post and Go card after giving items to be posted is not as serious as Mr Ali was fretting about as he threw about other cards in his booth to show me all the things he still had to do that day. To be perfectly honest, I do not care what he has to do, I have my job which I do not expect him to understand and he has his which I don't need to know the pressures of. I would imagine however that being front facing this surely includes providing a reasonable level of care and service which has always without fail been given in every other encounter with Royal Mail staff be them counter staff, business banking, travel advice, postal etc., I felt interrogated by him from the beginning of our encounter, he asked me questions which were not relevant such as 'where did you get this from' and 'you've not been in here before have you' . I don't believe that this information would have helped him in any way at all. I look forward to receiving your reply, I would like to know of any disciplinary measures that will be taken against Mr Ali as this is of a huge inconvenience to me as I will now not be able to visit my local Post Office.
