I'll get straight to the point, the Australia Post angels at this outlet are polite, friendly, professional, but above all they will have you served, get you what you want and have you on your way, a lot faster and with less fuss than most other post offices around here. They do get quite busy, I think it's because those from Broady and Oak Park know it will be less stressful to drive the extra couple of kms to Glenroy. Morning before lunch, and mid afternoon (long enough after lunch but before the masses exit work for the day) are the best times to go to avoid the crowds. I cannot stand going to this post office. Yes, some of the staff are nice but its always packed. There is never enough staff for the amount of people coming in and when the line suddenly starts to move and get shorter, the staff all start disappearing out the back. I hate that my parcels are directed here if I happen not to be home to accept a delivery. It means I have to pick it up from this post office which in most cases takes around 20-30 mins. If waiting patiently for long periods is what turns you on, then this post office is for you. It never eases to amaze me how long the queus are at this post office. Once you're in line be prepared to wait, and wait, and wait. The place is full of stuff for sale strategically placed for those who are endlessly waiting in the slow moving lane. I've actually bought stuff from the displays because I had so much time that I could read the instructions completely and figure out if the item was for me. Entertainment? Just listen to the conversations at the counter, the staff are more than happy to talk to each person, no matter how long the queue is. Everything from payment disputes, who's having a baby and what someone did on their last overseas trip. Better than talkback radio! Oh by the way, if you want service and short queues because your time is too valuable to spend standing in the slowest moving line in Melbourne, do what I do and drive the extra 2 kms to Hadfield Post Office where there is virtually no waiting and the service is professional and friendly. read more
