This place is nice and enjoyable if you do not have to wait 2 hours to play on a Saturday night. This place can get packed! They give you a number at the counter, and you have to wait for your number to be called or be shown in a small screen above the tv in the waiting area. Place: its a bit clubby at nights, good music, lights, etc.. you can have a good time here. Food: I usually order the mix plate of chicken and other side orders.. it is like a "picadera" it comes with several meats and tostones but you can customize it. The girls at the counter may or may not give you an attitude, it depends on the day I guess. Hope this helps!

Great time. Went around 11:30 on a sunday night. Place was packed. Waited 30 mins for a table. 10$ an hour. Not too bad. Good atmosphere. No creeps or drama. Great music selection/playlist. Only down side no liqour besides beer and it getd really hot whn packed.

Got invited to this place by a friend on a Saturday night the day after Halloween. Before we enter…read morethis place we came across another spot on the corner it was about 1:45 am the person at the other spot told us they are closing soon, so we proceed to this place. We enter pass the security guard, and go straight to the bar. We sit and the bartender ask us what we want to drink? I asked for a old fashion, they don't make those, then I ask for a moguito they don't make em since they had ran out of mint. So last I ask for something simple I asked her for a Incredible Hulk, that's a mix of Hennessy with hipnotiq. My friend ask for Hennessy and cranberry. My drink was great there is really no science on making a incredible hunk but my friends drink tasted more like cranberry. I never asked the bartender to bring my bill witch I find that extremely rude! When I look at my bill I was over charged, first of your serving me in small plastic cups, with half iced to the top. What a way to serve I would of at least expected glass cups. What a rip off!!! Then she comes over and tells me they are closing in 10 minutes. I'm like is she serious on a Saturday night ? I had to rush my drink and so did my friend. Security guards yelling every one gotta get out!!! Let's go let's go every one out!!! I payed my bill with no problem since we were rushed out but when I look at my bill I actually got over charge!!! How your charging me 15% gratuity really on 2 drinks!! On top of that your charging me a sales tax!!!!!!!! And on top of that have the nerve to charge me $17 for a small plastic cup filled with ice ? What a waste of time and money. I thought I would have a better experience in this place but guess not. Will not be returning.

I can't really say much about Taboga yet... That is because…read morewe came for a Private event, which happened to be during Happy Hourssss and was full house. Our waitress was very patient and friendly towards/with us, I kinda gave her some attitude because there was a misunderstanding and five minutes later, she came with a beautiful smile on her face and corrected the misunderstanding. Everything took time that night, drinks, food, bills, due to the fact that, again, there was a private event and they were full house. I wish to come back for brunch or a regular night to see what the ambiance is like. We had a good time, music wasn't great but I can't say whether it was their Dj playing music or the Event owners brought their own Dj. Food was delicious, drinks were good. Looking forward to come back and try out Taboga again.

My schoolmate from 7th-12th grades was in town with his wife from Washington D.C. My work schedule…read morehas been hectic, so we were trying to find a time and place to meet for dinner. They were staying at a midtown hotel and I live in Inwood. They were open to restaurant suggestions, but when my friend said his wife wanted to see Washington Heights, I knew we were going to Cañave. I have been to about every bar/restaurant in Inwood and its immediate environs. There are many good places, but I tend to prefer places where the music is not overbearing, you are not jammed in like sardines in a can, and service is exceptionally good. To make a long story shorter, we arrived at 7:30 p.m. and left at 11:30 p.m.! We talked, ate, and drank the night away. I suggested the shrimp ceviche, and we split two orders of it. It was fabulous and a quintessential example of example of Latin Fusion. My friend ordered steak and his wife, at my suggestion, ordered the roasted chicken dish - which I seem to never recall the name of - and rice and beans, and I did the same. This dish has recently become my favorite in the neighborhood. In fact, it has become one of my all-time favorite dishes. The drinks were incredibly good, as I savored my favorite, the delicious coconut margaritas. To top it off, the homemade flan the best I have ever had. I would be remiss were I not to compliment the staff. They were extremely professional, attending to our every need and thoroughly explaining items on the menu (I had forgotten the ceviche part of the shrimp dish, which they immediately filled in!). The easy listening music is superb and encourages conversation. It was nonstop talking, laughing, eating and laughing. We talked about old classmates, teachers, the school, etc. We caught up on the gaps in the years that we had not seen each other. In truth, it was an experience that could have only happened at Cañave. I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant!

Stopped by last night with a friend to catch up, and I'm so glad we did. The place is super cute…read morewith great vibes all around. The service was excellent, and the staff was attentive from the moment we arrived. They offer happy hour until 7 PM on Fridays, which is a huge plus, with many drinks priced at just $8. We started with margaritas, which were really good. For food, we ordered chicken tacos, flautas, guacamole, and yuca fries. Everything was a 10 out of 10. The yuca fries were a bit different than expected but still so delicious, especially with the accompanying sauce. The guacamole was also incredibly fresh. Price wise, we caught part of the happy hour and each had two to three drinks along with the food mentioned above. Our total came to $123, with 20 percent gratuity included, which felt very reasonable. Will definitely be back!
