What a beautiful lake with an abundance of nature trails for hiking/running/playing whatever your fancy! You step out here and almost feel like you aren't even in Texas. Such a great country vibe and it is so spread out. If I had a boat I'd definitely be out here all of the time. And is a very quick little road trip right outside the Dallas/Ft. Worth area if you need to get away. The trails have a great mix of terrain, from rocks and roots to sand and some amazing climbs with beautiful overlooks from the top. You definitely need to do a weekend getaway here! They have campgrounds and I'm sure resorts and spots to stay in if you want a more luxurious stay. So glad I was able to check it out! I'll be back for another trail run very soon!

I have been going to Possum Kingdom Lake (PKL) since I was 2 years old and have so many fond memories here. I shared my first kiss with my 3 year old boyfriend on the side of the boat in August 1971 Four years later in July 1975 we camped out and he caught a fish for our dinner! I found some vintage photos that I scanned and will upload here. My Daddy would take us out boating late at night and tell us about the catfish the size of VW Bugs in the 100 ft deep waters at the dam while alligator gars jumped up on the side of the boat. I can't believe I ever wanted to get in the water after that but I did. PLK is my all time favorite lake for skiing and cliff jumping or diving. Devils Cove is one of my favorite spots on the lake entered into via Hell's Gate so perfectly named. Hell's Gate is 2 symmetrical towering cliffs that are popular for diving. My sisters and I love this place we have been jumping off these cliffs since we were very young and looking back I can not believe our parents let us. If you are looking for a great lake that never dries up this is it. PKL also has primitive camping and fancy lodges to stay at and some great lake side dinning.

A hidden little gem but well worth the drive. We recently heard about this place and decided we'd…read morego try it out. We went on a Monday afternoon, it wasn't busy, less than $20 for my family to enjoy the day and beat the Texas heat. Has a blob (giant pillow on the water where one person is at the end and the other person jumps down and catapults their other into the water), several diving boards, volleyball and basketball in the water and many picnic and beach areas. I definitely recommend a weekday, it wasn't crowded at all!

This place was awesome. My kids liked it so much we went back again just a couple weeks later. It's…read moreabout an hour and a half from my place, but well worth the drive. The swimming hole is a man-made spring fed lake. There's a couple diving boards (one is a high dive), a setup net for water volleyball, a BLOB and plenty of extra room for swimming. Plus I was told they are going to add a couple big slides for next year. Beautiful scenery and lots of places to get shade (with tables) for picnics or cooking out. Bathrooms are nice with a small shower (shower could use a little upgrade but it was suffice for its purpose). Friendly owners and staff. Overall great place to spend a summer afternoon. I highly recommend a trip for the family! Tips: bring life jackets if you plan to do the blob. You can not do it without one and they are not provided (although you can purchase one for around $15). Careful walking in the grassy areas...there are stickers. Camping is only aloud for RV's. Daily admission for swimming is $4.50 (free for two and under) and $2.50 to park. AND the park is dog friendly, which is a bonus for many.

We went on Fourth of July, wasn't sure if we would be able to see Fireworks from there but we could see some from across the lake looked like in Fort Worth, and from the parking lot we found close parking, and seen lots of people there and worked out good. It was nice there was seating, and people and restrooms in the area we stopped out so overall good and anytime we want to go look at the water and relax I will choose here and try to come more often.

First, this is not an all-inclusive venue. Many items are charged separately, including linens, use of the TV, AV equipment, and even certain rooms like the back room. These additional costs can add up quickly, so I recommend asking for a full breakdown of fees in advance. I also want to mention the policy regarding security officers. When I booked, I was told the officer requirement would be at the manager's discretion. I communicated multiple times that my event would end by 6 PM. However, I was still required to pay for an officer through 10 PM, even though the event ended much earlier. While I understand policies are in place, this was unexpected and felt unfair based on prior communication. One policy to be aware of is that open flames are not allowed. I was able to adjust without issue, but it's something to plan for ahead of time. Overall, the space itself is nice, but I strongly recommend getting clear, written confirmation of all fees, policies, and requirements before booking to avoid surprises.

Great amenities, and lots to do for any age child or adult. Jessica and Curtis from the staff were both very accommodating and friendly. Whether I'm playing or not, my son and I would love to come back here and enjoy the fun activities. He had a great time on the #wibbit, the bounce pad, and the splash pad, and the water gun shooting train. The campgrounds are very woodsy, with lots of shade, and the guests here are awesome! I would definitely love to come back here camp or play another show. . I can't say enough good things about this place and staff that runs it and the campers that I've interacted with while I'm here. . So much to do, and such a great environment to do it in. I want to thank all of those that came out and watched my live performance. I had a great show, and they were great audience. I always enjoy fan appreciation, and of course always enjoy a tip. But one little girl went out of her way to give me a glow stick flower that she had made. I can honestly say, that was one of the most heartfelt tips I've ever received. Definitely makes the whole thing worth it.
