The park provides an access point to one of the best bike-trail systems in the United States running all the way north to Troy and south to Dayton where it branches off to Xenia, Hamilton, and Cincinnati. The former town of Tadmor is located just a mile and a half down the trail. It is most gone except for the foundation stones of the old mill. You can see the remnant of the canal almost the entire way. The east side of the park, near the top of the dam, has a wooded, unpaved trail with a 4-5 mile hiking/trail running loop that has a great view of the river. Along the way there are some great rock outcroppings, and the opportunity to see deer, heron, woodpeckers, and the occasional eagle. Taylorsville is a great little gem of a park on the north side of Dayton.

Bike, fish, hike, picnic, take zillions of pictures, watch for deer and other "residents," and more!! Be sure to view the MASSIVE dam, it's impressive!! I had limited time, but did make it about 3/4 of the way around the main trail, with stops along the way to take pictures. Wonderful, varied scenery, varied terrain, and VERY scenic!! This old quarry has been "repurposed" and is a great spot to "get away from it all" without going too far. A good-sized lake, a few easy to moderate trails (the rocky lake overlooks are nice!!) and plenty of parking are what you'll find. No, not the best trail markings/maps, but if I figured it out, anyone can!! A great spot to discover in Greene County, I'll be back!!

There are signs that tell you that you can collect in those areas. They have several trails you can walk on. The place used to be very beautiful, but unfortunately people have sprayed graffiti on alot of the signs and rocks. However, if you look past that, you can still find beauty. It is amazing that there is life in the midst of all the rocks and dead areas. It is a very peaceful place. I would not call this place handicap accessible. Even the paths are very rocky. I would highly recommend you wear hiking boots. We wore our tennis shoes not knowing how rocky the place was. Next time, we are wearing our hiking boots. They have two port-a-pots, no picnic area. I do recommend the place.

Google took me right there, but I felt like I was not going in the right direction. It's in a residential area and the parking area is not what I was thinking of compared to other MetroParks. About that parking area, there is not a lot of parking. It's a super small lot with maybe 15-20 spots and the day we went was fairly busy. We got lucky and found a place, but I could see a lot of people giving up and not visiting because of the lack of parking. The park itself it beautiful. It's pretty small, but well maintained. There are hiking trails, a playground area, green space, bathrooms, and picnic shelters. The park backs up to one of the golf courses in the Dayton area. The playground area is so neat. It offers a traditional play area and a nature play area. It's covered by a lot of trees so it provides great shade. They also have a giant sandpit. I do wish they had more swings by the actually playground. It made it hard to keep an eye on my older one and still let me little guy swing. Overall a really cool park and one we will return too!

Admittedly, it was a cool winter morning without much sunshine. In any case, the area seems to be a popular place for walking or hill running, either on the trails or the park road. This park, while not one of the largest or most secluded, is a great place for a quick escape. This trailhead has a playground, a pavilion, and bathrooms. It also is located in the middle of a neighborhood so easily found. Check it out.

My sister I suggested I go to the park down the street from her house. I had no idea it was this beautiful park. This park is so lush and green. It is well manicured and is huge. There is a lovely pond that you can fish in. The trails are perfect for a run, walk, bike ride or a walk with your fury friend. There are volleyball courts, a soccer field, a large play area for kids and tons of spots to pop a squat and have a picnic or read a book. Even the bathrooms are well managed and clean. While we were there, a craft fair and a small festival was going on at the same time. Neither disrupted the serenity or peace of the park. If you are wanting to get out of the house and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors, this park is it!

I haven't been here regularly in quite a few years lately because my kids are bigger now. I ran a…read morerace that came through the park and it's still a little hidden gem to me. Could it use some updates, sure, but I'm sure Kettering is getting there. The front of the park is a skate park and the back has a playground, path, disc golf course, picnic shelters, and a pond. The park also leads you to the Kettering Rec Center. I love that the park is rubber mulch. I also like the really cool and unique play structure. I do not remember the pond being so big so I feel like that has had an upgrade in the last few years. It looked nice. I'm not sure if you fish there or not. I do think they need to figure out how to get bathrooms back near where the shelters and playground are because if not you are walking up to the way front. The paths are in nice condition and connect to the neighborhoods for longer walks or runs.
