My friend and I went to the gym often but wanted more of a push. We found Live Fit and couldn't be happier. We signed up for personal training there and it's been fantastic. We have similar body types and goals. It was awesome we could work out together with one trainer, which made it less intimidating in the beginning. I also love how they schedule and charge for personal training sessions. Every trainer I have had made me feel comfortable, not judged and pushed me. I feel like they really effort into thinking what workout to do for each client. I did personal training in the past and felt like I spent more time following the trainer from machine to weights to machine than actually working out. We also participated in Live Fits XGT class which is an amazing workout. Due to time constraints I am going back to focusing on personal training. If you've ever thought about getting in shape but you have no idea where to even start give Live Fit a call.

They allowed kids to come to the gym at one time and made sure they charged me for it and set up accounts for them, then changed the policy on it months later and had the nerve to come to me and my son while I started working out..to inform us of the policy change while kicking us out. Doesn't sound like the family atmosphere they try to brand. Sadly I have been loyal to this gym through the beginning but they have let all of the dedicated staff go over time do to bad management and not paying trainers. It's unfortunately all a game to get you and your kids training sessions, it's definitely not about treating their customers with respect. Never trust the owner Keith to do the right thing. Most Times it's all about money, not the customer.

I had 45…read morepounds that would not get lost, and I tried everything from A-Z with regard to both diet and exercise. I joined OTF in April 2018, and am I ever glad I did. Not only did I lose the 45 pounds, but at 52 I am stronger and in better health than I have been...well ever. Are the workouts challenging? Yep! BUT, the coaches are great and they show you how to start at your own pace and you naturally get stronger and are able to do more. There are people in class who must be in their upper 70's and people who look like they might be professional athletes, but no one judges you, everyone is supportive, and besides you don't have time to look at what other people are doing! I would NEVER EVER be able to push myself like I do at my classes. My first day I told the coach, "I do not run! If you see me running, you might want to run too, because there must be something chasing me!" Well, I still don't love running, but I have ran 1.7 miles (once) and surprise myself all the time at how great I can run. Then there is also rowing and weight floor exercises and you are constantly switching up what you are doing, and everything is so well planned, before you know it, you have had a GREAT 60 minute workout! Cost? Well, lets just put it this way.. first of all no contracts, so you can stop with 30 days notice. I started out unlimited, and it was $159 per month. That may sound like a lot, but ask yourself, ARE YOU WORTH IT?? It was a splurge for me, but I was worth it! And the payback of being in the best shape of my life, well that is just priceless!! Since I have actually gotten a couple pounds below my lowest goal, I lowered my contract to 2 times per week, at $99/mo, and that keeps me from losing all the muscle and strength I gained. Obviously this was the best decision I have made for myself in a long time and I am super super happy! You HAVE to make time for yourself! If you aren't healthy, or tired all the time, how can you help others? Don't they tell you in an airplane if the oxygen masks come down, put yours on first, and then you can help others? I hope if you are reading this, you give this club a try. I really never thought I could do something like this, but I could, and so can you! Start at your own pace. If you're looking for a positive and supportive environment, this is definitely not the place for you. The owner needs more help than just managing a gym--he really should seek professional therapy, as he clearly doesn't have the skills needed to run a business or create a healthy, positive environment. Unfortunately, they made some changes and consolidated some spaces, etc. One of those changes was severely cutting their hours. I believe they close at 8:00 p.m. throughout the week now, and 2:00 p.m. on the weekends! These hours don't fit most people's lives, especially mine as a night shift nurse. I can handle rearranging some equipment and even closing the kids club, but if I can't get there because they close so doggone early it's not worth me paying for it. By the way, even though they cut out several hours per week of available gym time for clients, they did not cut out any of the very expensive monthly dues for members. This business is owned by ProMedica and if I didn't know any better I would think that they didn't care about encouraging people to live a healthy lifestyle, and that they only cared about money. And then I remembered that I am a ProMedica nurse and that is absolutely, 100%, the case! They made these changes to the hours from a financial standpoint, not thinking about their clientele or giving a crap if anyone actually visits the gym (so long as they pay their monthly dues).

BTW after the first post I received a message via Yelp from Planet Fitness wanting to talk to me I sent them my email and cell number since then I can hear nothing but the crickets for reference i have added my previous review to provide a complete picture: WARNING to all current and potential customers of Planet Fitness, should you experience several life-changing events, DO NOT count on/hope for/expect Any compassion from Planet Fitness, I signed up in 2018 and then starting in 2018 - present I suffered from the following life events: 1. I suffered a stroke 2. I was diagnosed with stage 4 Renal Cancer requiring major surgery and rehabilitation, 3. my disabled son suddenly passed away ( I found him on the bathroom floor), 4. On the day he passed away, I was rushed to the hospital and had emergency heart surgery 5. I was diagnosed with severe Afib (more than 3 events a week lasting more than 3 hours each time, all of this was in the last 3 years. with all this going on I forgot all about the membership. in preparing for tax season I came across the automatic charges from Planet Fitness. when I went to the local Planet Fitness to cancel the membership (when I called they refused to do this over the phone) the staff was amazed that this visit was the first time I went to ANY Planet Fitness since signing up, with this, I inquired about receiving a PARTIAL refund being as they NEVER provided any services to me, I know ultimately it is my responsibility but under the circumstances, I truly feel that a partial refund (they have received my monthly membership fees and renewal feels going back to 2020, and not once did anyone from Planet Fitness reach out and say hey you know it has been 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years or even 4 years since you signed up and you have NEVER visited any Planet Fitness location, are you aware you have this membership, is there a reason you never been to a Planet Fitness, is there anything we can do? when the "General Manager" called me this morning in a VERY rude and curt manor he made it VERY clear that "IT SUCKS TO BE YOU & WE DON'T CARE AS LONG AS WE GET OUT MONEY!" honestly that really Shocked me, all I was looking for was a refund of 3-6 months, with that scenario financially I take the majority of the responsibility of what has transpired and Planet Fitness acknowledges that they could have done better with managing the relationship with their customers. I don't know where he comes up with some of his ideas but he keeps it interesting. He's also a really good guy and focuses on doing each exercise correctly and to the individuals ability. For each exercise he provides beginner - experienced options so that as you progress there's always an opportunity to do more. He combines the use of body weight, kettlebells, TRX, ropes, tires, etc. He always has 2 evening classes Mon - Thurs and then every other week offers a couple of weekend options. He just expanded into a large warehouse setting which allows for a bigger class. The great thing about Nick is no matter the class size, he always offers personal attention and support. He's also focused on healthy living and has begun to offer nutrition courses as well on a weekly basis. The class sizes can range but what's great is that it's all different fitness levels from beginners just getting off the couch to experienced athletes. The group that works out is very collaborative, helpful, welcoming and supportive. Whether you're looking for a place to get started or a work out to push you to the next level. I STRONGLY recommend Nick Beakas!

Skepticism of the new fitness boom? No longer…read more Fear of unknown training environments that you may not be used to? No longer. When it comes to fitness I have been around a good while, I've also done some research, and I know what works for me. I'm not afraid to try something new. You shouldn't be afraid either... I was invited by a friend and member to Bootcamp, and I don't regret going to Nick Beakas' PT Studio at all. It was a good time, and he's there to help you succeed. I popped in about thirty minutes prior to class in order to fill out all the necessary paperwork (chatted with Nick for a moment about what to expect), warmed up, and then promptly at 530 in the pm we started. I don't go to a class environment often of this calibre often, but he did a brief overview of every exercise. After about five to ten minutes of instruction we chose our stations, and started what I'm now considering forty minutes of pro-guided and self-induced torture. Haha! It was good, and by the time we finished it all, I was completely spent. The good thing about this type of class is it's all self-paced and you can do the exercises to your level fitness. If I still lived in Toledo and the surrounding area I would make my way here once a week for his classes. It definitely made an impression on me. In terms of price his studio is average, for this type of training. I believe it was $30 a session, but like similar studios your first session is usually free (I didn't ask about monthly packages as I won't be in town too much longer.). That way you know what you're getting into before you completely commit to the program. Also, be sure to hit his website (http://www.nickbpt.com) if you are thinking about going, because you legitimately have to register. I'm sure you can show up, but there are only so many spots in class for each hour. All in all his business, and idea of fitness training is something I would suggest, and if I still lived in the area I would definitely be in attendance. Thank you, Nick Beakas. This gym is one of the best YMCAs I have ever used. It's not shiny and new, nor is it the largest, nor does it have the most equipment. But everything I used was in good working order and well laid out and easy to find and obviously these people care about their patrons. They let me enter without calling my home gym to verify me and I appreciate the trust. Just a really great bunch of people. I even had a long extended conversation with the guy at the front desk about how he used to live in Buffalo on the west side and how it has changed over the years. He hasn't been back in decades. I had just driven from Buffalo that very night. They open up at 4:30 in the morning which is excellent. They have some cute show offy girls working out here, wearing outfits that are against the rules, and that you would not see in my home gym. That was pretty awesome actually. And there are always staff members on the floor who know everybody by name ready to help out. They don't know me by name of course. But maybe they will, after this review. Now I think this gym is great, but I have to go and do something even greater. Or should I say, someone.
