Recently I gained a substantial amount of weight and was looking for a gym that would push me to my…read morelimits in the short hour I was there. I found that here! Orange Theory gives you the feel of an individual personal trainer in a group setting! I've gone to a few of John's classes and he's always there to push you harder, to adjust how you're lifting. Every class is different. And the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. I just upgraded from the 4 classes a month to 8 with their promotion!

2019 was the first year in 20 years that losing weight was not a New Years Resolution! I had 45…read morepounds that would not get lost, and I tried everything from A-Z with regard to both diet and exercise. I joined OTF in April 2018, and am I ever glad I did. Not only did I lose the 45 pounds, but at 52 I am stronger and in better health than I have been...well ever. Are the workouts challenging? Yep! BUT, the coaches are great and they show you how to start at your own pace and you naturally get stronger and are able to do more. There are people in class who must be in their upper 70's and people who look like they might be professional athletes, but no one judges you, everyone is supportive, and besides you don't have time to look at what other people are doing! I would NEVER EVER be able to push myself like I do at my classes. My first day I told the coach, "I do not run! If you see me running, you might want to run too, because there must be something chasing me!" Well, I still don't love running, but I have ran 1.7 miles (once) and surprise myself all the time at how great I can run. Then there is also rowing and weight floor exercises and you are constantly switching up what you are doing, and everything is so well planned, before you know it, you have had a GREAT 60 minute workout! Cost? Well, lets just put it this way.. first of all no contracts, so you can stop with 30 days notice. I started out unlimited, and it was $159 per month. That may sound like a lot, but ask yourself, ARE YOU WORTH IT?? It was a splurge for me, but I was worth it! And the payback of being in the best shape of my life, well that is just priceless!! Since I have actually gotten a couple pounds below my lowest goal, I lowered my contract to 2 times per week, at $99/mo, and that keeps me from losing all the muscle and strength I gained. Obviously this was the best decision I have made for myself in a long time and I am super super happy! You HAVE to make time for yourself! If you aren't healthy, or tired all the time, how can you help others? Don't they tell you in an airplane if the oxygen masks come down, put yours on first, and then you can help others? I hope if you are reading this, you give this club a try. I really never thought I could do something like this, but I could, and so can you! Start at your own pace. The coaches and staff couldn't be nicer, and I have even made some friends/exercise buddies! Best wishes and good health to you! Michele

Julie is amazing, and she comes to my home for our training sessions! (This is very important on…read morethose days that I want to talk myself out of a workout and she shows up at my door ready to go.) Thanks to her, I'm half the woman I once was a few months ago (see profile photo for "before" photo- I'm a size 6 (!) now). Not only is she really supportive and nurturing in her approach to personal training, but she also has a Masters degree in Body Physiology which makes her very knowledgable in how to safely train her clients (again, important because I had to learn how to exercise in a way that maximizes my ability and minimizes stress). She has worked as a personal trainer for a number of years through hospitals and has only as recently as this past Spring begun an independent practice and taking on clients. Her pricing is extremely reasonable for the breadth and depth of her knowledge and experience. Not only does help you reach your own fitness goals, but she also helps with diet and other considerations necessary to achieve a healthy lifestyle. I feel stronger and healthier than I ever have, and I'm even planning on running in a race this fall! With Julie, I got much more than just a personal trainer, I feel as though I have a lifestyle coach providing one-on-one, customized sessions. I no longer feel this was a "Personal Indulgence," but an "Invaluable Investment" in my overall well-being. Give her a try and you will not regret it!

In addition to our workouts, Julie has given me advice on nutrition and helped me create and achieve fitness goals. She also has helped me create weekly exercise and meal plans to keep me on track with my weight loss. She is truly an expert and tailors each workout to my individual needs. She has kept me motivated to make changes in my habits and to implement a healthier lifestyle, but is understanding when slip-ups happen and helps me get back on track! I hadn't really considered working out with a trainer before because the costs seemed prohibitive, but with Julie I don't have to maintain an additional gym membership. The exercises she has taught me and the workouts we do can be completed with minimal equipment in my own apartment. I can't recommend Personal Indulgence Fitness highly enough. Julie provides the expert knowledge and personalized service that can help you achieve success!

Fantastic gym to drop in when you're in the area. I've dropped in here around 4-5 times now over…read morethe past year when I'm in town for work. Coaches are friendly and approachable. Good classes. Solid no frills programming. Ridiculously nice space - it is HUGE. Great gym!

Since this place is the only reason I can claim to have some semblance of sanity (okay, okay, take…read moreit easy)... it's time to not only bump up the star rating but also mention some changes/updates. I moved out A2-way during the earlier days of COVID last year and needed a place to exercise. Remembered enjoying Wolverine Strength and Conditioning several years back and decided to give it a go. At that time, they were doing outdoor workouts, which was a big bonus! Plus, there were a lot of really great people both training and being trained. It was the most social thing that I was doing at the time - so not only did I improve my health by exercising regularly again, I also improved my health by having a social connectedness that was lacking in so many other areas of life. After the summer months, we headed inside. They made nice little "parking spots" with all the equipment separated out so that you had your own space. Of course they required face masks, per state regulations. But they also took extra precautions by giving us cleaning towels and products to wipe down the equipment after every use. They also had us go to the common areas in groups to keep contact down. Now that the weather is turning nice, they have told us that we will be going outside periodically again. It's SOOOO great of them to do that since it really is hard on the equipment, plus it's labor intensive. I honestly can't say enough good things about this gym. If you're looking to get your health in check (especially since we know that health is SO IMPORTANT when it comes to infectious disease) - definitely check this place out. You can drop in for free (one session), and then the $160/month is for month-to-month without an annual commitment. It's like getting a personal trainer - but for a LOT less! I cannot believe the changes I've seen in my body in less than a year... and how much more agile and good I feel. For the record, I'm 47 years old and feel better than I think I've ever felt. I may have gray hair... but I wouldn't mess with me if I were you! ;) Haha.
