One of the things that drew me to them is that they were willing to use only products that contained plant ingredients. I'm unable to use products with synthetic chemicals because my body is very sensitive to them. Many skincare businesses have a problem with this because so many products that are out there are not actually clean and non-toxic. This was not a problem at Beauty Republic though. They make sure to provide you with instructions via text message the day of your appointment, which is very helpful. The studio is now officially a team of two, lead by founder Marissa Duarte and her sister in law Vanessa. The services no longer include nails services. Their focus is entirely on skincare. Vanessa does offer waxing and lash lift/tinting services though! So, if you are looking for a place that is entirely dedicated to facials of various kinds with a holistic approach, this is it! And it's LOVELY. The studio is cozy and super well appointed. I was super relaxed the entire time. I went in for a facial that included gua sha with Vanessa. Vanessa is incredibly sweet and fun to talk to before and after your session. She keeps the session chat free so that you can indulge in all the relaxation possible and I loved it! Another nice aspect to their business is that it is a gratuity free zone, meaning that the pricing on their website is what you pay for and that's it. So you can think of it as the gratuity is included. I've never experienced that before and I must say it's a really nice way to enjoy a treatment. After my facial, Vanessa was gracious with her time and gave me some tips on how to use my gua sha stone at home. Your first visit with her will be very educational and painful. She educates you on everything about ACNE; what causes it, aggravates it, clears it, etc. She does an acne treatment and does extraction (which is not the most comfortable feeling but very necessary). Her method of clearing your skin is a commitment and an investment. Worth every penny and time. She's a very skillful esthetician and she knows exactly what she's doing. And the top of my head? My natural brown is gone, it's orange/red! I was able to come back to get it fixed and I trusted them yet again, just for my hair to still be orange/red and look even worse! I truly believe this was instructor error, as the student seemed knowledgeable, and did great on my hair the first time with advice from the one male instructor. Now all I want is my hair to be one simple color, and I'm stuck paying 300+ dollars and waiting 2 weeks+ with hair I feel so ugly with for somewhere else to fix this mess. I am very upset!

I caught her and she went to get her teacher. I have been trying to grow my hair out for three years! I had told her that. The color was also off. Not even close to what I wanted. I held back tears until I got home. This was November. It's March. Even with the extra supplements..one inch. I hate my hair everyday. The woman IHAD TO PAY said well you can come back. Great. What are they supposed to do? Glue my hair back on?! No I'm never going back! I suggest if you don't have the money don't even go there for a trim.
