The other consideration for me is that at 61, most stylists cut my hair so that I look like a preacher or a politician. Nothing wrong with either of those, but I am a professional fine artist and that look doesn't go with my personality. The haircuts he has done for me actually require no styling gel or pomade or cream to keep their look, they are done so well! But yes, I do use them, since it's Florida after all. Linda was very personable, professional and genuinely happy for me. She fit in with the wedding party perfectly. She is so talented and knew exactly how to create the hair style I desired in the spring heat of Florida without frizz. My hair was curled in a half up and down waterfall braid. While my hair set, she put on my face. She was a gem and made sure that I was polished for the pictures without looking like I had makeup caked on my face. A nice surprise was that she asked me who would be holding my lipstick of the rest of the day and told her how to apply it. I initially had a "trial" scheduled with Linda, but since we were a destination wedding and our flights were delayed, I had to cancel. Linda calmed my nerves and told me not to worry. Most of the girls had Pinterest photos and Linda took a couple looks at the photos and was able to recreate the look exactly. Marilyn applied makeup perfectly that looks amazing in photos and video (no cakey or white powdery stuff going on at all). A couple of the girls initially had only booked hair, but then asked if they could get their makeup done too, after they saw the other girls.
