Very disappointing yoga teacher training -- If I could give it Zero stars I would. Terrible yoga…read moreschool, very low level of training, don't waste your money.
My experience was largely sitting on the floor listening to lengthy theory and "over-explanations," often using a flip chart, rather than actively practising yoga. For example, around two hours were spent breaking down one seated posture.
The training felt poorly structured and unnecessarily drawn out. I expected a progressive, practical programme where you learn postures by actually doing them, receiving alignment corrections and understanding the muscles being used. I asked many times, sent 2 emails, I even had to map out my own chatgpt document to teach myself using online videos. I even told her this and she didn't see that as an issue or reflection on the lack of teaching or support. In fact she asked to see it, to see if she could pick any tips up from its learning pathway. Crazy.
Her defence when obviously keeping my $2800, is that the first month is foundational.
However I am now part of another school, and foundational is practical, progressive and interesting.
One other lady dropped out as she can have seizures and Willow mocked her with regard to headstands, even though she had provided medical documents to explain her medical conditions.
This is an honest review now, see all these other reviews, it says next to their names 'local guide' 40 reviews or a huge amount, that means it's a paid service. Fake reviews and paid service.
She insisted my friend pay upfront in cash, and has kept her money. So that is $5600 shes kept, with full conscious of letting us down on providing the course as advertised.
See an excerpt from Willow 's email after I called her on it. She is not very smart as she actually admitted it in writing.
' I want to clarify the training hours. Our Yoga Alliance registered program consists of 180 contact hours, including eight hours of class observation, and 20 noncontact hours. The personal practice log supports your learning but is not counted toward the 200 hours.
Here is an excerpt from Yoga alliance email : T
"A registered 200-hour program must include 200 instructional CONTACT HOURS taught by a program trainer. These hours may be delivered in person or online. The following do not count toward the 200 hours:
* Independent at-home practice
* Yoga classes attended at other studios or gyms
* Reading and written homework completed independently
As you can see, Yoga Alliance specifically distinguishes the 200 instructional contact hours from additional work or requirements.
Willows is 170 and then she puts it on you to complete the rest, she says 8 doing observations makes 178 then 22 just doing your own things, and then a load more extra hours to log.
She will no doubt put and over explaining defence in here but whatever she writes it doesn't matter, you have read my review and know I am not the only one very much let down by her.
We will now proceed with the attorney sourced, the complaints procedure, small claims and address all the false claims and false advertising with the Florida Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division.
We have screen shots of the website though I note she is changing things since, and all course documentation.
Very disappointed and unethical. It is advertised as non refundable, however when you are not selling what you are advertising, and admit it, the agreement of non refundable becomes null and void as the contract is broken.
Put simply its false advertising and not providing the service as promised. There are laws that protect consumers against this practise.
If you want to do teacher training from my experience I cannot recommend this school at all.
To give some prospective I am a tantra teacher, that has run an Academy for the last 30 years, including practitioner trainings - I am very versed in running a business, courses, and meeting the requirements of what you advertise. Very disappointed in the course and Willows response.
She will likely try to defend her company reputation which is natural, or not, maybe a generic answer and so more fake reviews to push this down, after all she's got our money, and is refusing to even discuss with one student, so thats who she is. But you have read my honest account already so you can make up your own mind based on the information I have shared.
