This place is great to do inexpensive pics! Yes it's like the pics of olden years ( sears, jcpennys) where you sit in front of a cheesy printed background and take the awkward family photos. But the advantage of this place is: -Prices are great as long as you stick to the package...they offer specials like 60 pics for $20! You can get easily sidetracked tho if you start picking other pics and have to pay the price for each sheet ( expensive like $30 per sheet) -Pics are printed and ready almost immediately! Maybe have to wait an hour or so, just go walk around town center and they will be done! -I have never had any problem with scheduling an appt, you do need to get appt that way your not waiting forever especially around any holiday! read more

This is the Wal-Mart of picture taking. Undertrained staff take no time to look at details. They don't look for loose threads, how clothes are laying, eye contact, etc. Although they have several backgrounds there is absolutely no discussion on which to use. They choose and you're stuck with what ya get. Pets are not allowed. They encourage a change of clothes but have no changing rooms. The bathrooms are very dirty and have no hooks for your clothes. They seem to use the all-white background with every sitting but don't adjust the aperature so it always appears gray or with shadows. read more

I walked in with one of my colleagues looking to get some simple head shots. We specified exactly what we wanted and clarified the cost beforehand. The manager, Bethany, came up to us and curtly told us they were busy and could not accommodate both of us. As there was only one other party in the store, I found that quite difficult to believe. I told the clerk we just each wanted one simple head shot and did not understand why we would have to have two separate sessions. The rude manager also clarified that they usually do appointments and implied that because we were walk-ups, we were apparently less than human or at least unwanted customers. Now, my colleague and I are both college business professors with doctoral degrees. We are not used to being treated disrespectfully and condescendingly, especially by someone of her obviously low caliber. As an expert in organizational management, it was quite painful to see how inept she was at basic leadership skills. The employee who took our pictures was hurried and less than satisfactory. He largely ignored our very specific and simple requests and mostly just did his own thing. He had each of us in unusual poses (we just wanted head shots) and with strange backgrounds that neither of us wanted. His listening skills were sub par at best. His photography skills were even worse. All of my pictures were awful. He did not do any actual head shot of me or my colleague (but I can edit what he did for the shot I want). Then he tried to sell us a $350 package, when we clearly communicated to him what we wanted. Just to be clear, Portrait Innovations is not a professional studio. Their photographers are not professional photographers. They really don't know what they are doing. And the manager is just an unpleasant, unprofessional little person with a very bad attitude who should not be allowed to deal with the general public. I did not have high expectations for that place to start out with, but they were far, far worse than I expected. I was offended from the time I walked in the door. I bought just one picture (that I was greatly dissatisfied with) and left. I'll never go back there. I'm going to a real photography studio later in the week to get an actual professional photo session. Don't go to this place. You are better off going to a real studio with real photographers. read more

Bethany, the person who took our session (and is the manager) asked me if I was a photographer because I had told my wife I didn't like any of the pictures that were taken. My son replied he was a photographer and she replied " so you think you can do a better job". The entire session was rushed and I was met with constant sarcasm and disrespect throughout. Bethany should not be an employee dealing with customers, surely not a manger at any capacity. Customer Service is HORRIBLE. My family has been coming to PI for 7 years to do family portraits. We are a large group from several states and only are together 1 time per year. in the last 3 years, quality photographers have gone down and service has gotten worse. Some pics show props and clips holding curtains. this year, we only received the purchased poses on the CD . When questioned, we were told "oh, we changed the policy this year".... when we stated that the photographer told us what we had to purchase to get the full CD and we did, we were simply told, "oh well, nothing we can do, we deleted all of your pics" someone in corporate really needs to review the negative comments and attempt to make things better. read more

I came here with high hopes wanting a few pics before I start this new chapter in my life. I went online to schedule an appointment for the following day at noon, I received a call two hour prior to my appointment saying they were understaffed and could I reschedule. Fast forward to a few days later when I came in for my appointment. I was greeted and waited about 20 minutes until I was called. I proceeded to the first room where I took a few poses and then to the back room where I took the rest. During the process my session was halted several times for the photographer to answer phones call (being understaffed was an understatement!) every time she returned her mood and attitude became worse and worse and she would mumble things under her breath making it very obvious she didn't want to be there. After we finished taking the photos we sat down and went through the photos. As stated when I arrived I only wanted two upper body shots and two full body shots. The photographer started out displaying a $500+ package then a $400+ package and then a $300 package and the "sales" part of my session dragged on and on. I asked her several times could I just purchase the poses I wanted by the sheet and she continued displaying packages with fewer poses saying this is how they sell them. And that if I didn't purchase the photos at that moment they would all be deleted. Frustrated and with no time remaining before I had to pick up the kids from school I went with the package she proclaimed to be the smallest. $210.76 later I'm stuck with numerous dark photos with the same pose and outfit. What pisses me off is that my sister went to a different location in her hometown and was able to purchase her photos by the sheet and was spared $150. I called their customer service and expressed my dissatisfaction with my experience and they explained the photographer Christina was a manager and she "travels to several stores" so there was nothing they could do. And the package she sold me was a business package, which is their only non refundable package, (FIGURES her push!) I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with my experience here and would never recommend them to anyone. Receiving same day photos is intriguing, but spending money on photos you do not want and are not satisfied with is both a waste of time and money! read more

I have mixed feeling about this place. I've had some good photo shoots and not so great photo shoot. I hate how they make you feel obligated to spend way more than you intend on spending especially if you tell them what your looking for and what you wish to spend. If the photos are good they sell themselves, I'm all for buying photos of my child that capture his personality. They get you in on the package deal for 23.99 and this much more off blah blah blah. Even on the package deal you can't opt out of getting the cavis and that's not really free you still pay a fee. I wish they had better accommodations the bath rm is mess and smells bad. The waiting room looks mix matched, paint on walls chipping off, probs look well used and could use updating. For the prices they want to ask they need to offer a better venue all around. read more

This was a very crappy experience. We arrived on time and were immediately told that there was a 30 minute wait. That was fine, it's the holiday season after all. 45 minutes later I asked how long it would be until our turn and I was told that we were next. Another 10 minutes went by prior to the children being photographed. The photographer was subpar and she was offended when I told her the things that I did not want in my picture. (They have these horrible ottomans that I saw on the website and instantly hated.) In theory, you're supposed to two pictures in two different spaces. The wait for the second space was so long, however, that the baby in our pictures became fussy. We asked to end early. When we were reviewing pictures, the photographer seemed irritated at the fact that we were stating that some of the pictures were subpar. We had 1 good shot out of 5 and the rest were awful. (This wasn't the fault of the children because they're adorable.) The photographer then rushed us through the process when we told her that we would not be purchasing more than the single shot and that there was no way to upsell us on the others. Fast forward two hours. They print the pictures in store, so they give you an estimated time of completion. Our time was 30 minutes but we decided to enjoy the town center a bit so that we weren't putzing around while the pictures were being printed. When I went back to the shop, I had to wait 5 minutes to be acknowledged by 2 staff members that were having a conversation. They brought me my package and I stepped outside to check it. I immediately noticed that there were item missing and went back into the store. Again, I had to wait for service while people chit chatted. Once I was acknowledged, I told them my issue and it was taken to the manager. When the worker came back, she told me that the pictures would be printed. When I asked how long I had to wait (I assumed a few minutes) I was told that the wait was 2 hours. This was unacceptable because I'd already waited 2 hours and we drove an hour from GA to have these pictures taken at a decent price. There was no way that I was waiting 2 hours, so I asked to speak with the manager. The manager casually walked out from the printing room and asked what the problem was. I explained my situation and how it was through no fault of my own and she basically blew me off. She kept using generic empathy "I'm so sorry you feel that way" "Good thing you checked these pictures" "I'm sorry for the inconvenience" to try to pacify me. New flash I'M THE QUEEN OF FAKE EMPATHY. I knew she didn't care about the situation. She was too calm. Rule 1 of de-escalating is to meet the customer's urgency. That's like business 101. Instead, she condescendingly told me that I was so smart for checking my pictures. She told me this 3 times before I casually tossed out the fact that I'm working on an advanced degree so she doesn't have to tell me I'm smart because I already know (I was just being a bitch at this point). This crappy encounter ended with her offering to ship the pictures to me at their expense. She wanted my gratitude but I couldn't seem to find any for her. Flash forward to the next day. She forgot to send the pictures and didn't do so until I called to get the tracking number for the order at 5pm that night. All we wanted was nice pictures at a low cost since this holiday season is riding us hard and putting us away wet. Regardless of how much we spent on the pictures, there should always be a base level of respect and this business does not offer that respect. They provide a subpar product with a side helping of nasty attitude. Needless to say, I won't be back. Hopefully, the manager will think I'm "so smart" for that. read more

I should've looked at the ratings before going in. The pictures were cute but my daughter is 2 any picture she takes will be cute. She said for all the poses it was over 600 dollars. After going through the pictures 4 times with her deleting a pose my least favorite ones out of the 2 she picked, we were only down to 399 dollars. This was 30 minutes later. Who has the time to sit there for her to go through all the pictures. I asked her about the package they advertised for one pose and she said she couldn't talk about that Until after she told me about all their specials. I asked could I just pick my favorite picture for the special and she said not until she was done going through all the pictures. Then she started to get an attitude. If I could give 0 stars I would. Waited an hour an half past appointment time. When I asked about the hold up was told "tis the season" what a joke. Was told I would receive my photo books before or on 12/21. These were Christmas presents. Today is 12/26 and still no photo books. How embarrassing I had no presents for 3 family members who were expecting books. Local location keeps saying it is a back up with Fedex which is a lie as I was told the books are "still in Production". They have not even gone out for delivery yet. I want a full refund and have disputed my charge card. I'll never pay them a dime and everyone will hear about my horrible experience. This place needs to be run out of business. read more

I loved the photographer. She did fabulous. However they are extremely misleading on prices. I called and explained I wasn't looking to spend a lot but wanted to buy a CD of all pictures. They kept saying "our collections vary in price." I finally got her to tell me what the lowest price would be including a CD and she said around $100. What we later found out was that $100 includes a CD, but NO copyright, so you have to get all pix printed there, at $20 per sheet. The cheapest "collection " with copy right available is $309 AND then after we spent WAY more than budgeted, we find out the copyright still isn't guaranteed and you have to send a request via email that may or may not be approved. Very misleading. Two stars only because the photographer was great. Otherwise it would be one. read more

Have been here twice and the only reason is my wife is a picture freak and I have 2 kids. Came here a couple months ago to have pics taken of my newborn. Apparently it took 2 visits cause they just couldn't get a good pic. This time my wife wanted a pic of both kid together. Everytime I come here they seem un organized. U don't know who is who and what. Anyways we got our photographer and we stated we wanted pics of the 2 kids together. Well they started by taking a pic of just my daughter then just my son. I was like ok maybe there going to work there magic so anyway u get like 20 some pics and after they do there thing u sit down and this is were they try and make u spend way to much money. Out of all the pictures taken there was one that was okay. They offer a 19. 99 package which gets u 1 pose and plenty of pics. I wish u could just weed through all the BB and have them work on getting just 1 good pic then be done instead of wasting time on pics I don't want. The good thing is they print all there pics on location so usually have your pics within an hour of being done. Unfortunately there aren't many options for photo studios these days. I take have taken all of my family photos here and each time I had an amazing experience and not to mention I've spent HUNDREDS of dollars here as well. for my son 1st birthday photos I spent 400+ but again the pictures are always nice and I enjoy the sessions each time. I scheduled to take Christmas pictures here my appointment was 12/22/2019 at 5:45pm I arrived slightly early because I knew they would possibly be busy being that it was the holidays also just incase things were running smoothly and I could've possible been seen before my time was another reason I came a little early. I arrived at 5:15 and the place was jammed pack there weren't any seats available and it was myself and my 2 small children (19 months and 6 months) but again I wasn't mad because im very understanding after waiting PAST my appointment time I still didn't get upset but what made me completely upset was the fact that it was packed and they were running behind and we the customers weren't alerted at all. around like 7:05 I grabbed a consultant and asked how much longer would it be she then came back to tell me that I had 6 more people in front of me like that set me off simply because if I hadn't asked nobody would've said nothing and I would've been waiting and my appointment was 5:45. I don't get what was the point of setting an appointment if I wasn't going to be seen until 2+ hours or so after. I didn't have a problem waiting 10-15 mins after my appointment time but 2+ hours is unacceptable. again I have small kids so they were getting restless plus I had to work the next morning at 8:15 I decided to leave I told the lady at the front she then asked would I like to reschedule so im like yes, I asked was there anything available for 12/23 she said no then took a weird dramatic pause im thinking she's about to give me options being that I don't work there and don't know their schedule or at least offer something for the inconvenience but she hesitated and was just starring at me so I said forget. these pictures were really important to me being that I just had my youngest and it was his 1st Christmas along with it being our 1st family photos with the new addition to our family. saying all this to say I will not be returning to do any business here EVER and if I could give it no stars I would. read more

My Father In Law was visiting for 3wks and we always get pictures done before his travels back out of the US. He sought out for this place after finding a great special. We decided to go! Before I dive into the details... you get what you pay for is not the case here... We had to wait over an hour passed our appt time... not only that the place was flooded with people. I get that it is the "Holidays" but this place had a lot of people who had behind appointments sitting in the lobby anxiously waiting to be photographed. By the time we got back into the first studio space it was super quick in and out. We were beyond ready to leave by this point with 2 children under 6. Imagine their patience... running thin and bribing them with cookies from Panera next door due to our delayed appointment! I don't know why we stayed, mainly to please our Father In Law, and it was true oh for him. By the time we got to the second studio space we still had to wait... now this is where 2 employees had a disagreement and were arguing in front of everyone. Very unprofessional to say the least. I felt bad for the girl taking the pictures because she did ask the other lady to please be professional, and stop. However, the other lady kept going on and on even talking about her to the customers being photographed before us. I thought for sure the photographer was going to quit and walk out. I know I would have! If this isn't the icing on the cake... here it is. After spending over $300 on pictures we later pick up our beautiful prints that evening. I'm anticipating picking up our canvas that came in the package. I ask for the canvas and I am told that it takes TWO WEEKS to ship... Surprise, I wish we were informed of that during our consultation of choosing packages as my FIL was leaving town 3 days after our shoot. The pictures turned out great, and we scored A LOT of pictures... don't know that we will ever return though... I highly recommend that they get better at staying on top of a block schedule for clients and reschedule those who are late or have cut off times. I have faithfully gone to this location for my kids dance pictures and Christmas pictures once. Never again!! Today, the manager Leanne confirmed that I will never return. They appear to now over schedule customers and therefore pictures are taken with no attention to detail, lack of proper lighting and while costume changes are fine during your session, they must not be when they have halfway earned their dollar. The studio employee Jamie picked up my kids dance costumes as I was putting them back in order, manager asks my 7 year old to go to the bathroom to change as other customers were waiting. Should I mention that poses I have always done to build a collage over the years that I showed the photographer were ignored because the entire session was a rush?? this was the last $254 they will ever get from me!! Horrible experience! Before each deployment I take our three girls and get pictures taken in his Navy uniforms. This was our third time getting these pictures taken. When I called to make an appointment I explain to them what I needed. I asked if they had an American flag and her answer was NO. I should have backed out right then, because what studio in America does not have a flag? My three girls went to the appointment with pictures from our two previous albums. When I went later to pick out the pictures, I was very disappointed. They put them in a wood background holding little Flags. After I expressed how surprised I was that they didn't have a flag, the photographer let me know that they did have one, but it is difficult to change the backgrounds. Are you kidding me?! Then they sucker you into spending all this money because their pricing scale sucks. One of my daughters lives out of town and we made the appointment when she was home for a visit. On December 17,2017 my family and I had an appointment at Portrait Innovations at St.Johns Town Center @12:30pm . Of course when you have a big party everyone doesn't' arrive on time . I went inside studio and let the manager know that everyone hadn't arrive and to let other's go ahead . They explained that was OK. Very upset about the racism that took place inside of the studio from the Manager and a few other employees . Its a level of professionalism that should be put in place and any corporation . She was going tick for tack with us instead of correcting the issue . Beth which is the rude manager stated "what do I need to lighten the pictures up for y'all are dark ? Really , first off that racist . You don't say things like that to people . All they had to do is to lighten the pictures up. I will never return to the studio every and wouldn't advise anyone to go there either . Customer service is horrible and at the most high. They don't respect their customers. Every black person walked in yesterday BETH the manager was very rude and negative towards . I requested my full refund back . I paid $181.85 and set at a studio for 6 hours and nothing was resolved or corrected . I will be sending the video to the corporate office address ASAP. read more

I will start with a positive. Our photographer went over and beyond to make things right. The manager Lee Ann should not be running this store, or any other store. Poor customer service. Her staff is all over the place. None of them know what time the store closes to give patrons an accurate time to return to get their phots in the event of a late appointment. I have been a customer for nearly nine years, we had a bad experience during the holidays with this location, but considering everyone is crazy during the holidays, I decided to give them one more chance. Let's just say, another let down, and almost the exact same issues arose with Lee Ann as we had over the holidays. We will not be back. I will opt to pay more money in the future for better service, and probably better pictures. Quality of photos are okay, but the misleading practices and the poor management speak loud. read more

Horrible experience. We wanted family Christmas pictures. They demanded several times that we had to have separate kid pics but my 9 month old was having no part of it. They kept asking us to take a break or come back but I refused and I also refused getting individual profile pics. The manager said it would be a one time exception to skip profile pics because my baby was crying. We only got one christmas background. The other was plain white which we were all wearing white so it looked horrible. Then the profile background that we skipped was all black. So much for great Christmas backdrops. Then we had to sit through a huge sales pitch which obviously was torture because we only had one good pic they took. Completely disappointed!!! If they didn't make my baby cry, if they took all family pics like we asked and if we got more Christmas backgrounds we would have spent $$ but they didn't so it just wasted our time.
