I haven't had Portillo's before but saw it had good reviews so I had to stop by on my drive down from Chicago. It was a little chaotic waiting for my order. I placed an order through the kiosk and somehow waited a little over half an hour for my food as I watched my order number disappear from the screen. I got the hot dog, fries, burger, and chocolate cake. The food was decent for fast food but not sure if it was worth the wait. I did read reviews of how long some people have waited for their orders but didn't expect it to be that long. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior had a nice diner vibe to it and there's plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

It's Portillos, end of review. Seriously for those of you that have never been here, get the BEEF SANDWICH & CHICAGO HOTDOG. Need sandwich dipped (it will not fall apart) & hot peppers or sweet peppers, we love the jumbo Chgo hotdog with everything & the cheese fries. You can't go wrong with anything here however first timers, please get the beef, it's real Chgo!

I'd like to do this review in the style of Fleetwood Mac's song, "Little Lies". Don't let those stripes fool you, it is not a good representation of the brand. Basically, they are telling lies and they aren't sweet little lies (cue back-up singer, " tell me lies"). Portillo's in Springfield you can't disguise, no you can't disguise that your food was in the freezer too long. I ordered your kid's meal of a 4-piece chicken strips, fries, and an apple juice. I was promised non-stale fries and a kid's prize (cue back-up singer, "kid's prize"). There you go again, and I can't close my, close my, close my eyes. Where's was my prize (cue back-up singer, "my prize")? Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies because there was no prize...it was paper hat. The worst and we are breaking up too. P.S. why is your honey mustard an icky color?

I will say the restaurant is very big and loud. As soon as you walk in, there's typically two lines and you just pick which line to go in. This app was very friendly and took our order promptly. Then they yell it into the microphone and that's how your order is made. They have a grab and go section for cakes you can get a large one or even a slice. We had the Chicago style hotdog, which is great and a cheeseburger as well. Both were very delicious. I don't feel like the hotdog was very big and I really don't feel like there was anything that special about it. My Husband very much enjoyed the cheeseburger.

    I'm door dining area.

We wanted in because it was kind of late and we wanted something fast. We were pleasantly surprised. The sandwiches were yummy, good size, and the French fries salty which is what you want. Pleasantly surprised! Four stars for the food.

Italian beef, sweet peppers, Portillo's style (drenched in au jus)

Springfield location of the iconic Chicago staple, which we had to try as we passed through. Nice restaurant with vintage signs and accents, reminiscent of a 50's diner. Awesome menu with some new items including bowls, which are essentially bowls of meat, perfect for keto!! Italian Roast Beef with sweet peppers was spot on, Portillo's style, which is drenched in au jus. Chicago dogs were perfect..and we tried the salted Carmel shake...soooo good. For 7 of us the bill ran just at C note, but we ate like kings. A roast beef with peppers runs about $9 (peppers are an essential add), so add in a drink and fries/rings and this is a much better value than your typical fast food. They do offer burgers, which we have never had, plus Italian sausage, and a variety of salads too. We love Portillo's and we're definitely glad this extension of the franchise did not disappoint!! If there is an issue..it's identifying food within orders. We had 4 different beef sandwiches and had to open each and pass them around to get the correct one...maybe an identifying sticker would be nice?? Also, from the reviews they may have drive through issues...we are inside, so we can't comment on that, but insides was great!

Look for great dogs and Italian beef sandwiches?? This is the place to go! They are doing a great job here in bringing the Chicago classics!

After spending a day at a theme park and eating their options, it was nice to "clean" your body out with a good and healthy salad. Located on Sand Lake road near Publix and multiple eateries, this place has a wide selection of salads, sandwiches, and a limited selection of soups. Ambiance: 3.5 Stars The place was clean and has plentiful seating. Ranging from bar style or bench and tables. It is Deli style when ordering. Go to the back and select the type of salads, rice / couscous, soups, or sandwiches. There are pre-fixed options or you can build your own bowl. The eatery was clean, open and airy. Natural lighting was pleasant with the large front windows. It would have been a higher star rating for the ambiance, but the bathrooms needed some work. Though it was clean and roomy, there was no soap and limited toilet paper. Staff: 3.5 Stars Deli The employees were friendly and professional. Our server assisted us with questions and our selections. However, with the middle Eastern dialect and his ability to speak at a rate of the sound barrier, he had to repeat a few times for us to understand. Note: His patience was much appreciated. Food: 3.75 Stars We all chose several different salads. Three were pre-fixed and one was customized. 1. Shanghai Chicken Salad - 3.5 Stars Roasted chicken, edamame, scallions, almonds, cilantro, red cabbage, romaine perfectly paired with miso sesame vinaigrette Contains: Nuts, Soy I chosen the chopped romaine leaves as the base. It was light and flavorful from the dressing. However the chicken was a little bit overcooked and dry. The condiments were plentiful and fresh. Though it was good and had protein, I felt somewhat satisfied. I could eaten another bowl. 2. Chicken Shawarma - 4 Stars Blackened diced chicken thigh, kale, hummus, baba ghanoush, pickles, Israeli salad with Greek yogurt and tahini dressing. The based options are rice melody or couscous. I chose the rice melody. This bowl was more satisfying than the Shanghai Chicken Salad. The chicken tasted juicy, tender and flavorful. Choosing a thigh instead of breast brings the umami flavor of the chicken. The fresh veggies and tahini dressing was a perfect match for this option. 3. Santa Fe Salad - 3.5 Stars avocado, corn, local jack & cheddar, grape tomatoes, onions, tortilla chips, local kale, romaine, perfectly paired with chipotle-lime vinaigrette with a fresh lime squeeze. My sister added chicken thigh and avocado Chimichurri dressing. She said it was tasty. 4. South Beach - 3 Stars craisins, walnuts, green apples, blue cheese, local mesclun, romaine, perfectly paired with balsamic vinaigrette. My wife added chicken and swapped the walnuts for pumpkin seeds. The diced breast chicken was slightly dry and seasoning was lacking. The salad itself was good but wasn't too satisfying. 5. Customized Salad - 3.25 Stars My niece chose to customize her salad bowl. She chose chicken, romaine lettuces, shaved Parmesan cheese, cucumbers, edamame, and other veggie ingredients. She chose the avocado Chimichurri dressing which she liked. NOTE: they offer breakfast items and coffee. Selection of various drinks are from a deli refrigerator and they carry some Kombucha options too. Enjoy!

Tons of great options if you're looking to eat some fresh and healthy. I ordered the Wok bowl and although it sounded like my cup of tea, it didn't taste like it. The bowl itself looked delicious, and the rice and chicken were both actually warm to my surprise! The rice itself however was a little hard and the chicken was a bit bland. I wish I would've asked for the sauce on the side or maybe added some sauce to my chicken to give it more flavor as all my sauce ended up on the veggies and really didn't enhance absorb the peanut sauce (which was great). I will say this bowl was packed and honestly offered a good amount of food for the price (~$14 to 15) I would definitely give this place another chance because there were definitely other items that caught my eye. I went with my brother and sister-in-law, and the food was excellent. The lemon pepper dry rub wings were absolutely amazing--crispy, flavorful, and seasoned perfectly. They were so good I jokingly wanted to bite my fingers afterward! I also tried the Honey Thai wings, but they just weren't for me because I don't really enjoy spicy food. That's completely a personal preference, though. The edamame was fresh and tasty, and the appetizers we shared were all very good. Even though the restaurant was completely packed, the service was impressive. I expected a long wait, but I was seated almost immediately, and our server kept everything moving smoothly despite how busy it was. The only downside is the parking. There isn't convenient parking directly in front of the restaurant, so you'll need to park in the nearby garage, take the elevator down, and walk over. The good news is that parking on the top floor is free. Along the walk, there were several outdoor vendors selling fresh fruit drinks, roasted corn, sweet treats, and small shopping items, which made the walk a little more enjoyable. Overall, this Yard House delivered great food, efficient service, and a fun atmosphere. If you're visiting International Drive and looking for a great place to eat, I definitely recommend stopping by. I'll absolutely be back!

There were several places to choose from, but this one seemed like a good fit because it wasn't overly loud, and we wanted to be able to hear each other. We initially sat outside, but we were told they had stopped serving the outdoor seating area, so we moved inside. Rather than wait for a server, we decided to order directly from the bar since it seemed like the faster option. There weren't enough seats at the bar for our group of five, so we grabbed a nearby booth. The bartender was friendly, and our drinks were excellent. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. Although people were not coming in, but some people were eating, and enjoying drinks throughout the restaurant, it seemed like the staff had started cleaning up for the night. A server came over, and we explained that we were only there for drinks. After we received our drinks from the bar, he returned and told us that we would soon have to get up so he could clean the table. Seriously? I looked around and saw several other tables where some guests were simply sitting, talking, and enjoying their drinks. They weren't eating either. It made us feel as though, because we had only ordered beverages, we weren't as welcome as everyone else. I chose not to let one person's behavior ruin our evening because I'd rather believe that one employee doesn't represent the entire establishment. In fact, the bartender was great, and the drinks were very well made. What disappointed me was the server's attitude. I wasn't aware that ordering drinks at a restaurant with a full bar wasn't enough to be considered a paying customer, especially when there weren't enough bar stools to accommodate our group. His approach came across as rude, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary. Needless to say, we were not going to get up until we had finished out drinks, and we did not. I may return to try the food because the drinks were impressive, but if I ever encounter that same server again, I definitely won't be sitting in his section.
