Taro + Strawberry Milk tea (with strawberry popping bobas) tastes just like Cap'n Crunch
Ainsley F.

Been coming here for years - I saw that they recently changed their name from Tea Chai Te to Portal Tea... still the same exact menu! My favorite is to get the taro + strawberry milk tea mied with strawberry popping bobas - tastes JUST LIKE Cap'n Crunch [you're welcome]

What a hidden gem that you can miss if you don't pay attention. We were looking for boba tea and found this on 23rd st on the second floor. Look for the sign in the front. The tea was great. We went for the small mango. The service was impressive. It was a one man show and our group was big. He was able to take care of everyone very quickly. Inside the place is a so cool. Overall we will come back given the chance .

Best macaroons i've ever had in my life and I tried a good handful. Not too sweet. Filling is way more creamy than sweet (which I love because most macarons are too sweet). Tea was refreshing. In fact, after I did light shopping, I came back and got seconds because I didn't save any for my son or husband. Only deterrent: no parking lot, all street parking. I'm a suburban girl, I don't do well with crowded street parallel parking. But if I'm near, I will 10000% come back.

The pear and green tea tastes like pear A chill place to lounge with cozy music, but you may not find a seat!

This is definitely not the same as a Taiwanese boba shop. Its more equivalent to a David's Tea or Teavana (rip). They have a bunch of tea and milk tea "flavors" and different flavored boba including tapioca. Unfortunately they ran out of tapioca pearls when I visited. I accidentally got the green milk tea (thought it was the same as jasmine tea) and a black milk tea. Both tasted very artificial to me. The price wasn't that cheap either but its nice that topping is free. But I had to wait about 20 min for my drinks

I was very pleasantly surprised on how cute and big this place was! We went on a Thursday night so it was not that busy and we had the back room all to ourselves. They sell tea in either 20 oz or 32 oz pot. We got the barista's recommendation of strawberry tea with some kind of mint and it was quite enjoyable. I definitely will be returning!

Full flavors of lavender milk tea! Bubbles were chewy yet tender! Service was good. Looked like it was a house formerly and transformed into business (commercial zoning) now. Pricing around $6-7 per cup. Downside was no bathroom to use, it said out of order.

I absolutely love this place! I went to do some homework here and it was perfect and quiet on a Thursday morning. I got a 32 oz pot of tea that was delicious and kept me there. The cashier was super helpful giving me the rundown and I will definitely be returning to try more teas.

Jasmin bubble tea with pearls (1/2 sugar and 1/2 ice). Plus a very delicious cream cheese pastry.

This little tea shop has been here for like, forever. Back when I was a student in the early 2000's, I used to come here often with friends as it was one of a few tea/coffee shops around back then. Fast forward to 2023, here I am checking it out again for the first time in a long time. Initially, I was going to order the hojicha tea, but they were sold out. So I opted for a jasmine bubble tea with tapioca balls (half ice and half sugar) instead, plus a cheese bagel because the staff recommended it. The bubble tea was decent, it didn't taste too sugary nor filled with ice, just as I ordered. The bagel took a long time to come, but when it arrived I enjoyed it very much. Nowadays there are so many bubble tea and coffee places, it's hard to choose a favorite. This shop on 23rd in North-West Portland is filled with memories, so it'll always have a special place in my heart. However, the prices are a bit too high and the service is a bit too slow. Also they no longer take cash, which was a surprise. If you are near 23rd and are looking for an intimate place to enjoy a moment of peace and quiet, this place is for you!

I asked for a re-steep on a tea that cost 5.40, and they said "no we dumped the leaves". :(
