We were running low on battery and GPS capability. I loudly exclaimed that gol-dangit, I was going to stop at the next winery I saw a sign for! In no time, we saw a sign for Sunset Point Winery. We pulled it up on our GPS, jumped off the highway, and chased that horizon until we pulled up to the winery. It is just up the road from Point Brewery, and we were lucky enough to find some A+ prime parking just outside. Inside, the tasting room is upstairs. You are welcomed by tall, timbered ceilings and an inviting, comfortable atmosphere. We sidled up to the bar for a tasting, while also looking around for some outlets to charge up our phones (we were all running dangerously low on e-battery power!) We only saw two outlets for the three of us, so Dan behind the bar offered to let me charge mine behind the bar. Thank you Dan! On to the tasting! For $5 you get to choose six wines to taste. There are a few that are available in the tasting room only, and you can't get a bottle to go. So be aware, if you end up liking those, the most you can probably get is a glassful in-house. They have a couple dry options, but sweets rule the day here! I really enjoyed the wines I sampled. I prefer sweet, and they have some wonderful fruity and sweet options. I bought a couple bottles to bring back with me, as well as getting a glass of the Red Dwarf to enjoy while we got a few more minutes of phone charge in order to make the rest of our journey for the day! Overall, we greatly enjoyed our visit and were incredibly pleased with the service provided by our wine host, Dan! Iola Car Show.... One of the BEST car shows and swap meets. Automobiles/Trucks/Motorcycles from the…read morebeginning of the 20th Century to present. Hollywood Stars even make appearances too, this year I met Patrick Duffy and Linda Purl from television and movie fame. Both were very down to earth. When asking Linda Purl about her new book "A Peak Behind the Curtain", she mistook what I asked and interpreted it as saying something about her having a nice butt. After an awkward moment and good laugh we spoke about Patrick and her possibly appearing together in a Hallmark Movie. At the moment none is in the works and hopefully someone from Hallmark reads my review and makes it happen. The show takes place on over 300 acres! They offer school bus service to and from the parking lots to the show. I would recommend taking at least two day to take in the car show. What makes the so great are the people. Dedicated volunteers and those that make the trek to share their amazing vehicles with us.

Plus, it really is about the company you're there with! I'm always there with really fun people who know their cars and can tell me what I need to know. Since we have to travel from out of state and like to spend time in Milwaukee. So, we typically only attend one day of the show, and it's usually Thursday when it's not as chaotic. We browse the swap meet too, but we spend 98% of our time looking at the cars. I highly recommend Iola for any car fan or even someone who just likes looking at them!
