My husband came here to pick up some food while we were in town visiting the air museum and had to make a special trip back because they gave him the wrong wrap. Apparently the lady doesn't understand what vegan means. He ordered a veggie wrap for me and an egg wrap for himself and the lady gave him two egg wraps. When he went back she had zero acknowledgment saying, 'it's a veggie wrap'. Since when are eggs vegetables? When I finally got my wrap, it was the most plain and tasteless wrap I've ever eaten, but I was hungry. There was literally no spice or flavor of any sort, it was spinach, tomatoes, lightly grilled peppers & onions and a few small pieces of fried potatoes. My favorite little coffee shop. Love to support local over cooperate. I always get the hot cappuccino and I'm slightly addicted to them. SO good. My favorite over anywhere else. I go here A LOT. Sometimes 3-5 times a week. All I'll say is don't expect things out super fast. Like food at least 10 minutes sometimes so if you're on the go before trying to get somewhere just don't be in a rush. With a couple hours to kill and the overwhelming desire to skip my hotel's crappy breakfast, I headed to Port St. John for my coffee fix. The location is very easy to find (google maps got me right into the little strip mall with no issues). The decor in here is cute, very cozy. It's clear this place is a popular stop, while I was there I heard a lot of conversations with people who were clearly regulars. They have a good number of food and breakfast options without having way too many. I went with a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant breakfast sandwich and a small iced mocha with almond milk. I paid just under $9, less than I'd pay at Starbucks for a breakfast sandwich and coffee. The mocha was good, not super sweet but not bitter either. The sandwich was pressed in a panini press, which made the cheese perfectly melty. The staff was super friendly, the food was good, and the atmosphere was great. read more

I was visiting family in the area and found this cafe on Yelp. I read a few reviews from happy customers and decided to give it a shot. I am so glad that I did... THE RESTAURANT Port St Java (PSJ) is a cozy cafe with eclectic trinkets and wall decor. A couch and cushioned chairs offers a relaxed environment that is perfect for meeting a friend for tea or enjoying a latte with the morning paper. Tables (~10) are available, too, which makes PSJ an excellent dining choice. A small bar area with a few stools seems to be a nice coffee social area. I had the opportunity to peek into the back kitchen area and noticed that the employees appropriately wore gloves and the area seemed clean and organized. THE FOOD PSJ sells lattes, frappes, Cuban coffee, smoothies, teas, wraps, soups, paninis, bagels, brownies, chips, candy, & cute coffee cup coozies. There seems to be something for everyone at this little place. I noticed that coconut palm sugar was available which seems to be a nice option for vegans. THE SERVICE Every person in this cafe was pleasant and happy to help. They were conversational, kind, and morale in general seemed to be high. The friendly staff completely sold me on this location. I enjoyed breakfast and decided to go back a few hours later! I ordered an everything bagel with a mocha latte this morning and later ordered a turkey cheddar wrap. Everything was delicious! My experience at this coffee shop was disappointing. I arrived around 830am on a Tuesday, and had to walk past a guy sitting on the sidewalk smoking a cigarette before walking in the entrance (While waiting on my order, the smoker came in and I learned he was an employee). I had to walk all the way up to the counter and wait a few moments before an employee looked up to greet me. Oh well, maybe they aren't a morning person... Ordered a coffee and roasted bagel. I looked for a place to sit down, but 4 out of the 8 or so tables had crumbs and/paper litter. Not an inviting atmosphere. Cubano was super sweet, bagel was a bagel. I'll probably just leave early and make time to go up to Sunrise Bread Company before coming back here. read more

Very rarely do I enter a place and just become smitten from the ambiance alone - Port St. Java is one of those rare places. But ambiance alone doesn't make a place good or even serviceable. There needs to be good food, good service, and then to make things even better there has to be something else, an intangible - as in saying the place has "It". This place has all that *and* "It". This little place is beautifully decorated and furnished in a warm and homey manner. The kind of place you can just sit in for hours comfortably. Their food tastes homemade, it's made to order and made from scratch. There are numerous drinks to choose from. You can go with flavored teas, frapuccinos, expressos, smoothies, shakes, and it goes on. What you won't find is a soft drink - good for them. The staff is friendly and the owner is a very personable gal who takes the time to talk to her customers...truly a lost art. Best espresso and coffee drinks in PSJ and probably all of Orlando. We love to come here every morning because Julia, Taylor, Morgan, and Crystal are just so friendly, kind, and accommodating. It has all the comforts of home and more: fun music in the background, comfy chairs, creative decor, and the feel of that "third place."
