This campground is awesome! It's the perfect place for a family reunion or just a weekend getaway with go karts, a train, bumper boats, and multiple pools throughout the campground. If I could give it zero, I would. There is no authority overseeing the drugs in this KOA. The drugs are so bad and no one in KOA management enforces their own rules. Welcome to the hood. If you're looking for peace, family bonding time, or even just basic respect for personal space--look elsewhere. I've stayed at many campgrounds, and I've never had an experience like the one I had at KOA Port Huron. From the moment we arrived, it felt more like a chaotic street festival than a campground. Children under the age of eight were roaming around unsupervised, running through our campsite, screaming, staring us down like we were intruding on their space. It was honestly surreal. Parents? Nowhere to be found--or worse, screaming across the park themselves. Loud, bass-heavy music blasted until 11 PM, competing with barking dogs and shouting adults. This wasn't a relaxing nature getaway--it was a full-blown block party in the woods. When I texted security at 10 PM about the noise and kids tearing through my site, I didn't hear back for an hour. By that point, the damage to our evening was already done. We couldn't enjoy our campfire. We couldn't enjoy time with our family. We paid for a site, and instead got what felt like a public park with zero boundaries or supervision. The lack of enforcement, courtesy, or community standards at this KOA is staggering. If you're hoping for a safe, peaceful, or family-friendly experience--this is not the place. We will never be back. read more

The park is clean There are family amenities The RV sites are pretty spacious On the other hand, there are LOTS of kids. The park does not seem to have a handle on the kids biking and scooter activities. It is actually dangerous Difficult to see them in the first place and they ( kids ) are oblivious to danger. As usual, we were so happy with our stay here on a Halloween weekend. So many great decorations and they always plan the best activities for the kids. I like that they will deliver wood to your campsite for campfires. I also like that they communicate all important info by text. They do start taking reservations for 2025 camping on June 1 2024 which we were not aware of so when we booked for next year there were limited sites, however we were able to reserve in another area which should work out fine. read more

Back again. 5 stars. Let me begin: there was a DISCO PARTY. Also, when at arcade, spend two quarters on the candy chest. Most fair claw ever. It lets you play until you get candy. (See picture!) Mosquitos take a LARGE bite out of your experience- literally. Giant mosquito bite bumps- they defy normal mosquito blocking tactics, even bug spray, and are everywhere. These mosquitos have rewritten their brain to seek humans and attack. Ice cream? Get some chocolate ice cream and some hot fudge and Oreos- true treat! Food: outstanding! Recently I went to KOA with my family and we had a BLAST. I wish it was a bit hotter so I could have gotten in the pool(s) but I still had a great time. I shared a cabin COMFORTABLY with 5 of my other cousins and a personal parking spot directly in front of the cabin. The cabins are actually. Bit spacious we played a drinking game inside the cabin with 8 of us in a circle. They also allow Campers and tents so those are all scattered with the cabins as well. There was a big sink and stove top on the center of the yard for all the cabins and the bathrooms/ showers was at the end of the road. They have a lot of activities you can do such as go-kart, banana bikes, water slides, weight lift gym, a lot of basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, etc, you can rent golf karts and peddle bikes. My family and I brought a rope for tug-o-war, we had a water fight etc. each cabin and space for camper has a campfire pit. The campers have a BBQ pit for their spaces. 10/10 This was only my second year but my family goes every year. I think I will continue the tradition with them (I wish they had a beach or was near some water ) read more

Nice campground! Bathrooms were clean and the showers were private (one shower per door) which was nice. Ample pools. I liked their rules as it kept a crazy party atmosphere out of a clearly family friendly campground. The weekends were very busy but the staff really tried to keep up with the cleaning. Lovely amenities, stores, pizza place, and ice cream store. They even deliver pizza to your campsite! I wish their gym (which was AMAZING!) opened at 7 instead of 8. Also I wish the cleaning hours were posted on all of the bathrooms, some of them were missing and planning was made difficult. All on all, a really great place to stay! Ugh - we do Halloween camping here every year, my kids love it, typically things are fine, so I'll be back, but... All cars have a car hang tag on them. Fine. It's filled out by the front desk. I was just "investigated" by the KOA staff person because the tag was filled out wrong. As a single parent with little kids (who are also black), staying in a campsite a little farther back, I was extremely uncomfortable with a random man flying up on his golf cart, announcing my car was improperly tagged, and then walking all over the place, taking down my plate number, while yapping on a walkie talkie...to discover that the plate name and my last name were mixed up by whoever filled the tag out. Seems like a quick check of the reservation could have verified that, instead of treating a person like they'd committed a crime, and then explaining I could come to the office to fix it (no, not my problem), or the car could be removed - maybe I should have let that happen. It would've been fun to be on the local news. When confronted, everyone's answer was that there is no need to be rude. Not smiling isn't rude. Asking questions isn't rude. Being assertive isn't rude. Sending random men to skulk around is creepy, and a simple phone call would have sorted the whole thing out far more efficiently. Threatening to remove a car and offering no apology for being creepy, disorganized weirdos...that might be rude. Do better. read more

I went to koa this past summer and it was a blast. Only feedback I have is the questionable atmosphere in the store. Particularly a staff member, a younger girl. She had a black coat on, hard to tell she was even a staff member until check out. And from the tag..I think said "Khloe ". I was getting glares and not nice looks from the youngling. She was not polite, did not address or acknowledge any customers till check out. Even when check out she carelessly tossed down an item someone purchased instead of handing them it or setting it down appropriately. Never had this issue before in my summers here. Regardless Koa is an amazing place with tons of fun! Love it here. read more

We reserved a site for 3 days to attend a family memorial. The campground was overly crowded with kids riding recumbent bikes all over the roads , along with campers, trucks and cars. LOTS of unattended children- parents back at campsites drinking or smoking pot. VERY POOR customer service- had to deal with teenagers acting as managers. Our site had a HUGE mud bog at the entrance; great mosquito birthing spot. Checkout is 11 am ; they cut our electric in the middle of the night which drained the batteries in the camper. We could not contact a " camp patrol" person, or any employee for that matter until after 8 am. TERRIBLE experience at a very high price fir a poor campsite. Don't waste your time or money. read more

I was invited to my friends get together for the July 4th weekend. I was thinking woodsy with small log cabins in the deep woods but I was surprised. We had to check in prior to entering through the gate. This was interesting because there were RV's and trucks that were parked at the front that made it kind of crowded. They gave us the items for the check-ins such as the cabin numbers and the rules. It took us a minute to find the cabin but not surprising since this was the first time. There were a variety of RV's of all sizes and plenty of cabins. There were a variety of swimming pools, spots you could buy ice cream, food and other necessities at a store located at the front entrance. The cabin was actually a nice size. This particular section has 3 cabins with front porches. There is also a fire pit and tables located in the middle for bon fires. It is located Comfortable to sit at that small table or the couch. There was also a kitchen with refrigerator and even a Keurig for coffee. There are also silverware, utensils and bowls which was also a nice addition. There was 3 sleeping areas; 1 room with bunk beds, one on the upper level and a bedroom with a queen sized bed. There is a also a bathroom and shower. They provide towels, washcloths, a small bottle of shampoo and body wash. I was really surprised that there was a TV. There is also a water park and fun area towards the back. There are 3 water slides, Bumper boats, go carts and putt-putt. You have to purchase tickets for this event and each ride is 2 to 8 tickets. The ticket prices are typically $20 for 29 tickets. We had a great time. It rained and they shut the area down for a while but they did open back up. The bonfire was cool also. You must purchase the wood for the bonfire. There is a also a time frame for bonfires, music and other noise until 10pm. This was especially good since this was the 4th of July. There is also a curfew for kids younger than 18 and they are pretty strict about this. Overall, it was a great time and great experience. read more

Wow! I stopped in for a family get-together weekend. I wish I would have showed up a day sooner. This is a camping resort! They have plenty of activities for families. Not many tent sites, mostly trailer and RV sites, along with lodges and cabins (KOA calls them kabins). Lots to do, rental bikes (2- and 4-seaters), golf carts galore. A frontier town area to let the kids roam and buy souvenirs, candy, etc. Some of the KOA activities include: evening hayrides, large game room, enclosed playgrounds, horseshoes, Volleyball courts, free movies, indoor group meeting hall, general store, hand-dipped ice cream, two swimming pools; Directed activities, such as Hula-hoop contest, treasure hunt, make a pirate hat, hop-scotch, scavenger hunt, finger painting, coloring contest, jump rope challenge, capture the flag. The weekend community all-you-can-eat breakfast (8:30-11:00am) is catered and at $5 for adults / $2.50 for kids, it is a bargain. Sawmill City recreation park is right next door and you can get discounted tickets on the KOA side of the fence. A convenient gate allows access back and forth. I noticed many out of state license plates, and quite a few vehicles from Canada! (Of course, if the Ontarioans were from Sarnia or Point Edward, they drove a whole 10 miles to get there)! Don't let my reference to a resort fool you - this KOA is family friendly and not too hard on the wallet. read more

I love this place but just one issue i had the last time i stayed is at one of the shops was this younger girl. I walked in and thought she was a costumer until i saw her shirt name tag "Khloe" she was wearing a black jacket and jean shorts. She didn't even look at me, acknowledge or anything until checkout. I had to actually say something or she wouldn't say anything. One or my friends had the same issue that she slammed the item on the table after scanning it. Nice campground everything seemed clean and lots of activities. Ran by children, we were here three days and haven't seen an adult. We were in the full hookup area and there was very loud party music till 2am Friday night like heard from across the entire campground and no one stopped them. Saturday night was loud birthday party a few sites away they were super loud till exactly 2 am, they also had 3 cars at their site. There's no control it's chaos at all times of the day, golf carts flying everywhere kid on bikes not watching where they're are going. It's hard to put in words how crazy this place is. And we were awning to awning with our neighbor At $70 a night The first campground we for sure wouldn't return to after 15 years of camping. read more

Came to visit family today and had a horrible experience. One of the owners was very rude. (Family member did not read pamphlet for golf cart) Owner was following her and yelled at kids to get the hell out of his way while he was driving golf cart. Family members apologized for breaking rules. Golf cart was taken. When we asked owner about yelling at the kids he told us ( I should of hit them over while chasing you) Did not attempt to apologize to them. Or even resolve the issue. Just kept fighting with our family while we had plenty of witnesses. I understand she was wrong she apologized cart was taken. But you are an owner in the hospitality industry, I don't think you should be yelling at kids. Definitely will not be returning. read more

This was our first time to the Port Huron, MI KOA. On the plus side, there were lots of activities for the kids: tennis, soccer, road hockey, play grounds, pools (closed for the season), bouncing area and a convenience store. Our kids really did have a blast. On the negative side, the lots were narrow and getting in & out is challenging. The lots also aren't very deep, meaning you get to know your neighbours up close & personal. The bathrooms were small and didn't have any sort of change area. Overall the park felt over crowded. Staff was friendly and had a number of activities scheduled, including: tractor rides, mummy wrap (ie. kids wrapping each other in toilet paper) and a hidden candy search (is. Look for candy on the ground, in the dark, using flashlights). There was also a bingo game scheduled, problem was no staff showed up, so 25+ kids went home disappointed. Overall I can't be too critical, since our kids really did have a blast. We'd probably go back. read more

This was my first stay at a KOA Resort. I vacationed at the Port Huron location with my daughter at a tent site. I'd first like to address an incident that happened the 3rd day we were at the resort. As I was at a complete stop waiting in line to leave the location, I was jarred by a man yelling at full volume, pulling up behind my vehicle like a bat out of hell, slamming on his breaks and running screaming to my driver's side window. He proceeded to YELL in my face that the speed limit in the parking lot was 5 miles an hour and he just saw me go 15. I was completely caught off guard by this as the "parking lot" that he was referring to was a space of 3 car lengths from where I had completely stopped to allow the barage of bicycles, golf carts and pedestrians coming at me to clear before proceeding to the gate. I had been hyper aware of keeping the speed limit within the park as it was a circus and in the 3 days we had been there, MY vehicle had almost been hit by 2 golf carts and several bicycles shooting out of side streets by people not observing the speed limit or the rules. I was almost hit personally by a person on a bike while I was standing in line for ice cream on location. When the man paused in his screaming rant, I answered in a normal tone that I had no intention of going 15, (nor was it possible in that situation and distance) and I was focusing on being aware of all the people in the rented vehicles coming at me with no regard. He further screamed at me that he is "one of the bosses here and I have your plate number!" Number 1: There is no reason for an employee to be screaming at anyone. Period. It is uncalled for and unprofessional. Number 2: He did this with my daughter in my passenger seat, with no regard. He was out of control and totally freaked her out. Number 3: There is no said sign regarding speed in the parking area. The young, non-management staff was polite and friendly. I rated 1 star for service due to his appalling behavior and because different staff members speaking about the owner "making them" keep changing the procedures re-enter, to keep people from "sneaking in", also that he drives around counting tents on sites making sure that you paid extra to have more than one tent on your site...all in all painting a controlling picture of paranoia The sites are jam packed together too close together, it appears as if once nice sites were cut in half to maximize profit. Golf carts, 4 person bikes, and low to the ground go cart bikes are available to rent which is nice, but the sheer volume of rentals sharing a road not wide enough for 2 way traffic with cars and pedestrians makes for chaos. I am surprised if no one has gotten hurt yet. Driving through stressed me out every single time. Instead of treating driver's like criminals, I make the suggestion that the resort takes responsibility for how many rentals they are putting out into the park at any one given time. Safety is not enforced for anyone with using a rental and rules are not enforced for unattended children, even after dark. It has the potential of being a very cool place with cool amenities for families, but overall has the feel of profit over safety and over a quality experience in a hostile environment created by poor management. This was our first time camping at KOA Port Huron. I read other Yelp reviews and thought a campground run by kids? It's true, but they could be well trained I had hoped. Well we arrived to check in and yes, the booth operator and registration counter are being run by young adults. In my opinion, they did a below average job. What they need is training and supervision by a good supervisor. They need to have someone educate them on gaining excellent customer service skills. For example, we were checking in a little early and they told us our site was not ready and they didn't know if the prior rv had left yet. Meanwhile, our large rig was blocking a large portion of the entry way with our tow, which made it difficult for other campers to enter. I decided this was ridiculous and I walked out to locate our site. Low and behold it was empty. I went back to registration & advised the young male. He hesitated to give me authorization, but with a little logical reasoning, on my part, he finally gave me our packet. The key to having return customers is teaching employees (young & old) common sense. They could have driven their golf cart to our site and verify the situation. Another learning tool is easy, welcome your guest with a friendly smile and a "How can I help you? Pretty easy. Make the customer happy especially if daily rates are close to $70 a day. So the campsite was nice. Lots of golf carts during the heavy summer season and weekends. This KOA is large with many activities for the kids. The $1 train ride is fun for all. We used the batting cage and go cart. Each had to be used by tickets which are purchased. They pick up your trash daily, all hours during the day. You leave it at curbside. The staff members driving vehicles drive over the posted speed limit of 5mph which is not safe when the little ones are riding bikes & scooters. I think with a little training of the employees with gaining excellent customer service skills, the reviews will improve. read more

The manager tried taking the golf cart from my brother in law before he could get my nieces stuff out of the cart. Loud music past quiet time which is in their contract. I'll start with the positive. The park is well maintained and offers a lot of activities for children. The two pools are nice and the bathrooms always clean. Well shaded campsites with ample space. Now the negative. If you want a quiet park on the weekend, go somewhere else. The roads are always busy with cars, golf carts, and rented bikes. The park encourages music to be played loud, regardless if it bothers other campers. We contacted the office three different days and nights about a specific cabin that had a concert-sized speaker blaring music from their deck. When I did get a chance to talk to the operations manager, he lied about driving by the cabin and not seeing anyone outside when I went by before and after him. He was defensive instead of trying to solve the problem. Then he told me that the music shouldn't bother me and just go back to my campsite like I was a child. That's when I lost my cool and things escalated. Needless to say, we left that night. The manager is on a power trip and doesn't use good judgement when resolving issues. read more

If you are thinking of staying at the Port Huron KOA campground, you may want to think again and read the negative reviews since they are pretty accurate! We had a bad experience. For the past 3 days, we have stayed at this campground. All 3 days, there were two cabins blaring distasteful music. The manager Pat refused to address the issue and said that it shouldn't bother us and the parties blaring the music were "just having fun". He also got very loud and mouthy with us instead of dealing with the people that were the problem. Not only that but this campground was packed, loud, and had CONSTANT car and golf cart traffic. People also had portable speakers blasting music on bikes and golf carts as they cruised around all day. it was obnoxious. I will never stay there again. read more

First the staff is always so nice and helpful, their is so much to do, play hockey, tennis, train rides go karts, bumper boats, water slides put out gold , batting cages, and they always have a million of things for the kids to do, this is my 10th year going and I stay at the lodges, so clean, so nice you have your own fire pit, bbq grill and they have everything you need to cook, bedding. read more

I will never go back or recommend this camp ground. We booked our site months ago for 1 night with the intention on staying 2 (our friends with a camper were coming the second day and we were going to be there guests on the site) we had a tent the first night. The manager came by and told us we weren't allowed to have a tent and that we had to pack up and leave. Didn't even try to solve the problem. I told them 1. We have now been drinking since we've been there for hours and 2. Our camper is coming the following day and 3. The website clearly states that some site are allowed a camper and a tent. 4. When checking in a intentionally told the woman that we had a tent and our camper would be here the next day, because I asked her if I needed to check out when our friends got there with it. They didnt want a tent on their grass?? Isnt that the prupose of camping?The owner and some other guy came by on their golf cards, were extremely rude and tried to intimidate us into leaving. They agreed to charge us 20 more dollars for the tent (the only thing on the site at the time) the next day bright and early he came over snickering and smiling telling us we have yo move or leave. Then told my husband "maybe your wife should learn to read" only assuming he meant when I made the reservation. When my husband got defensive they guy told him to swing on him. Then the other owner came by and started taking pictures of us. So unprofessional and if it's not illegal to kick someone out who isn't disturbing anything while drinking then it is absolutely morally wrong. They charged me $20 (10 per night) however my reservation was only for one night. So rude. I will never go back. read more

Do yourself a favor and do not go to this campground. Go to the Emmett KOA @ 3864 Breen Rd. Emmett, Michigan (just a few miles down the road. Check out the reviews on Facebook too. This place is horrible. I went with a group, and rented four campsites next to each other. I came the second day, and the office would not let me drive back to our site. I was told I need to pay $5 and park as a visitor at a parking lot next door. I argued with the whole crew in the office. Why would I pay you $5 when I paid to camp here. It took 1 1/2 hrs. of arguing to get out of paying !!! I was forced to park extremely far away and walk to my site. I was ready at this point to leave, and go home. My kids talked me into staying. I am a very calm person, and don't think I should have been harassed like this. This campground is too greedy in my opinion. I was also harassed the night before. I was bringing a van full of bikes to the back of the campground. I was not allowed to drop off bicycles for the families. Luckily I got a worker to let me in, when the kids in the office were not looking. The place is run by all young kids. The Manager needs to be fired. He's a tall dorky kid. He told me he was the top person in charge of everybody. There was nobody higher up to talk to. Is this dorky kid the only manager ?? Maybe that why there is no supervision of the workers. Different sites around us kept blowing power breakers.(not at the site, But ( main breakers) The workers kept telling them to unplug things,they were using too much electricity. The bathrooms are only cleaned one time per day.( although the sign says two) 10:00am - 11:00pm , This is a problem. You have hundreds of people in the morning waking up to all of the toilets plugged up. The toilet bowls filled 2" from the rim. Can't they afford to hire people to check the bathrooms every half hour? They are making thousands when the place is full. When the kids did clean the bathrooms, all they did was unplug the toilets, and pick up all the toilet paper. They did not mop the floors,or any other cleaning. They must have spent about 15 minutes total, tops. I took many photos of the stopped up toilets, and mold in the showers. Our site was near the bathrooms. They rip you off on everything they sell. They rip you off, if you rent the golf carts. You pick up the golf cart at 10:00 am The workers were late getting there. The breakfast buffet was surprisingly only $6 But it was horrible too. The pools were shut down. The firewood cost $1 per piece of wood. $5 per bundle. I will never go back to this dump. I've been going there for about ten years with my kids for Halloween . They were charging visitors $10 per person in a vehicle. If I could give a rating of zero stars, I would. I met lots of unhappy campers while I was there. read more

This is a very nice campground, well taken care of with tons of amenities, however, after our treatment by one staff member we will never return. We had a unique situation where we had an rv and a smittybuilt rooftop tent, which we would like to put on one site. Unsure of the rules, we questioned 3 different staff members before the arrival of the tent and were told by all 3 staff members that it would be fine. We were crystal clear about what we had. Later in the evening, after we had been set up for hours, another employee approached us and told us we needed to remove the tent, that it was a second rv. When we explained 3 other people gave us permission he said he would go review the video and audio tape to see if what we were saying was true. He also said the staff was new and untrained. Not my issue. How am I to know who has accurate information? I said I would rent a second site to remedy the situation but he then proceeded to insinuate that my daughter was a liar too. In the end he had our entire family so upset that half of the people went home and the weekend was ruined. Now I'm reading other reviews that say they are disrespectful to women. Conclusion: Nice place, lots of rules, don't have any special questions or circumstances or be a woman. read more

We rented a delux cabin at the Port Huron KOA for two nights but ended up leaving the next morning instead of spending another night in this dirty cabin. We came with twin 9 month olds who crawl and put everything in their mouths so cleanliness is incredibly important. Within minutes of them crawling around the cabin floor, their socks became very dirty so I ended up having to mop the entire cabin with a wet hot towel and cleaner I brought from home. The towel was left in the bathroom and was a dark brown by the time I finished. It was very obvious the floor had not been mopped for our stay. Furthermore, the window sills had dead flys, a bee and stink bugs were found on the couch and floor in multiple locations. The blinds were filthy as well as the a/c unit in the living room. The cord was covered in dust and so was the unit itself. I did not feel it was safe to run it pushing out all that nasty dust. We left the next morning because one of our sons spiked a 103 fever. We rushed out and have taken him tot he doctor and dealing with getting him better. I called 2 days later to report the situation and the condition we found the cabin in but they were unwilling to understand and provide a partial refund even thought we left early and reported the filth. Port Huron KOA - KOA pool - RV Parks Near Me - Kimball, Michigan

We were here from Friday night to Monday in early June. Pros: -Lots to do, relatively clean, staff was friendly. Cons: -Nearly everything closed at 2 p.m. on Sunday. We were really surprised and disappointed. -The activities are fun but very expensive. Nothing except the pools are included in the cost of camping. For example, the water slides cost $10 for two hours. Mini golf is $6 per person. Bumper boats are $5 for 7 minutes. -The pool was freezing cold. They need to heat it. Even the kids were put off by it, and kids will swim in anything. -The mattresses on the bunk beds are about 4 in. thick, which is not good for adults to sleep on. I had to double up the mattresses to get any sleep. The mattress in the big bed in the front room is 6 in. thick, which seemed ok for my husband I will be back, with revised expectations. read more

The people are just weird. Someone tried breaking into my car, everything is expensive and there were bugs in my cabin. They didn't sanitize anything after we used it and most employees didn't wear a mask even with signs saying masks were required. unlike most people's review ,for me the best part was the loud music at night because it was the only source of entertainment. also pools were dirty. read more

What a great place. Very accommodating when I had issues with power. Very nice amenities. I considering the park is larger, it's a considerable walk to do anything - particularly getting ice. Would be nice if ice was available in the frontier village. one bath house was disgusting but another was very clean. It's a camp and fellow campers are not as respectful. The only big issue I had was teenagers at the front pool using profanity around little kids. Golf carts are a hot commodity and it seemed some people just drove around constantly being nosey. Could have done without the carts with the loud music and one general Lee cart with a obnoxious horn. I read a lot of not great reviews but it's camp. All of the Karen's need to realize they really do have a nice place and very kind considerate staff. Other campers make the experience good or not, not the campground or staff. read more

Just back from this campsite and it was our first camping trip, me not quite being the tent kinda person. We had booked a single kabin which had heater/AC. It was a great experience with tons of things to do for the kids including the evening movie which we would have never expected. Long walks, swimming in the pool, bicycling, golf carts, bumper cars n so many other things. No line ups even once for washrooms or baths and it was as clean as could be possibly expected. And the best part was the awesome kitchen which was huge and accommodated our entire group of about 25 people. This truly is a camping resort as commented by Kent M. A complete family friendly resort with all amenities nearby incase you have forgotten to take something or can even have all your meals at restaurants fast food places just outside the camp (Taco Bell, MCd's) to buy close by.. So no hassle of carrying loads of food. Will definitely be visiting again. read more
