There are artistic-looking dead trees lining the beach that kids enjoy climbing. You can bring your paddle board or float and enjoy a relaxing time on the river. As we were walking along the shore, 4 sea turtles came right up to the edge. Just be careful. A person who had been swimming away from the crowd away from the shore said he was bitten by a shark, and we saw a jagged cut with blood running down his foot.

The water was cold, which would have been great for a sunny day, but we posted along the shore and just let the kids have fun. It's a beautiful beach, lots of shells to find, and big beach houses to admire! Once you're done, there are showers and dressing areas to rinse the sand and get into drier and warm clothes. It was my son's first beach experience, and I think he liked it!

I will say I think the city was strategic about the amount of spaces available at each opening. The reason being it allows those visiting the beach not to feel overly crowded and you feel more spaced out, which is really nice. There is a $3 parking fee. Once you park, head to the little stand where there's a map and some blue envelopes. Take an envelope, put your $3 in the envelope, tear off the parking tag, and put that in your car. My recommendation, pay the $3, not only is it required, but also, the funds go to maintaining this amazing beach. We parked, put our $3 in the envelope, and walked up to the stairs. I will say, if you have a wagon, stroller, cart, this isn't the location of where you should be parking. We didn't feel like going to the second parking location, so my husband and I had to carry the cart up and down the stairs. Thank you to the good samaritan, who saw me struggling to pick up my side of the wagon, and helped us. Once we made our way down to the beach, we picked a spot, and set up our stuff. For it being the fourth of July, it wasn't overly crowded. It may have helped that we got there super early. The water was warm, the beach was clean, and people seemed to really respect everyone's space. I enjoy looking for sharks teeth and shells. It was a beautiful beach day and a great way to unwind as a family. The pavilion was nice and covered perfect for our big picnic! Right next to us was the bathrooms, shop, and little restaurant. We were able to change easily into our bathing suits to go swim at the beach and my friend was even able to buy a bikini from the store since she forgot one - so convenient! The beach is beautiful and the water is stunning, be prepared to walk across a lot of sand to get to the water part. After swimming, we went to get some ice cream from the shop, and I got a root beer float, which was good. Overall, such a nice time!

We love it here. The beach parking area for this specific location has about 15-20 spots do its a small location and can fill up quit quickly. The best part is the short walk. Its a place you only have to walk about 30 yards to the beach. No crossing A1A where it could be a horrible game of Frogger being played. lol There are two covered picnic areas that have benches and a table for some relieve of that summer sun when you want to enjoy a bite to eat or even take a break from the rays. The times we have been there, we have not experienced any bugs, which is a huge positive, unlike Jax Beach.. ouch those suckers can really hurt and be annoying. They do have public restrooms and garbage cans for your trash. Please use them and keep out beaches clean. Fun in the sun, clean waters (sometimes almost green at times) with peace and quite makes a day at the beach so much more enjoyably.

However, I seen plenty of people fishing and several boats in the water oh, so that is why I say that it seems to be more of a boat ramp and a focus on the water here more than the actual park.
