Berger's Furniture Refinishing - What the bar cart looked like "after" it was refinished and rebuilt - amazing finish and perfect replica!

The owner communicated with me during the entire rebuild process (which took about 1 month). Tracy recommended the "rebuild" and it was well worth the wait! The original cart was damaged laminate and they replicated the damaged wood parts from 100 year old pieces of a piano. Berger Refinishing also delivered the wood cart with brass hardware on time for a gift. They really care about doing quality work and I highly recommend their expertise and attention to detail. Thank you Tracy and Eric!

He was able to patch the door frame from 4 pieces back into one and it looks great- Better than it did before, actually. It used to have brackets holding a few pieces together, leading me believe it had been damaged before. I needed a replacement piece of curved glass as the original was shattered in the move. While the door frame only took maybe 2-3 weeks for completion, I gave Tracey a few months to search for a curved glass manufacturer. One person he thought may have been able to ended up not being able to and he was unable to find anyone else in the local area to do it which is absolutely at no fault of his own. I was able to find a specialty glass manufacturer who does replacement curved glass for curio cabinets in FL so it all worked out. It was reasonable pricing for the door frame repair with a good turnaround time. If I ever have damaged furniture I would bring it back to Berger's in a heartbeat.

Dave's Master Floor Care - Fully sanded, repaired natural stain finish

I needed my engineered hardwood floors refinished, and the first company I contacted barely looked…read moreat them before telling me they were too far gone and needed to be replaced. Thankfully, I got a second opinion from Dave's Master Floor Care. Dave carefully inspected the entire floor and explained that refinishing was possible -- and he delivered outstanding results with good value. Dave is thorough and an excellent communicator. He explained the types of wear on my floors and outlined his refinishing strategy step by step. With little room for error on this type of flooring, I appreciated his clear approach -- there's no "undo" button with refinishing! Dave also has tools I've never seen before -- it felt like he had a gadget for every challenge that came up. Plus, he's been doing this for years, so he knows how different stains and woods react. I even learned a bit along the way. And the best part? Dave does the work himself. Sometimes he brings an assistant to help with simple stuff, but you're really hiring him -- not a random crew. After seeing what he did with the floors, I also had him fix some big cracks in my garage and driveway too. Same story: great work, no fuss. If you want someone knowledgeable, equipped, and detail-oriented, I highly recommend Dave's Master Floor Care.

I found Dave through Yelp and, as usual, I am always a little suspicious of contractors I find…read morethrough an app but Dave really put my mind at ease once I spoke to him and heard how knowledgeable he was about flooring. He provided a consultation for my indoor floors, but then I had him also look at my garage floor and he said he was able to do the work I was looking for, which is what I will be reviewing here today. I had a few cracks in my garage floor and was looking to Epoxy it to protect it for the winter. Dave explained to me his process and how it differs from the competition which helps keep his cost low. The best part about Dave was that he stuck to the quote he gave me, with no surprises or additional ask for money, and he started when he said he would, got the job done quick, and finished when he said he would - anyone who has worked with contractors before knows this is a rarity! Dave was respectful and treated the place with care, and I would recommend his work to others. We think the garage looks great! Dave is passionate about his work and did tend to over-explain some things to me, so some people might enjoy that more than others but it was great to hear how much he knew about the subject!

Zeigler Interior Scapes - Complete bathroom gut and redo

He ripped the tiles off the…read morewall, built out the walls, skim-coated the walls, installed some floorboards, and painted the walls & ceiling in my bathroom. Now, the walls have a smooth finish and look wonderful. He even painted a couple of doors for me at no charge and cleaned up after himself when he finished working. Bourbon is friendly, honest, reliable, organized, and very meticulous in his work. I can't say enough good things about all the work he did to make my bathroom look brand new. I highly recommend calling him if you need someone to paint your apartment.

Update 12/11/11 - Six months later, Mr. Zeigler has updated his response to my review. Originally…read morehe wrote an apology which I accepted, but now he's saying that I've somehow confused his business with someone elses. Just because 6 months have passed, it doesn't mean you can rewrite history. There is no confusion about what happened; you, Bourbon Zeigler, were totally unprofessional and blew off or forgot our appointment. Trying to make it seem like I didn't know I was dealing with is just insulting. Original Review 6/6/11 - After discussing a painting and plastering job on the phone, I set up an initial walk through appointment a week in advance. Unfortunately, on the day of the appointment, Mr. Zeigler was a no show. When I called to find out where he was, he didn't remember the appointment and said that I should have reconfirmed with him. He never mentioned this requirement during our conversation; I simply thought making a appointment was making an appointment. If it was so crucial for him to reconfirm he could have called or texted, but he didn't. He just forgot we existed as soon as the phone disconnected. When I asked him if he could still show up, he said he was too far to make it and was already involved in another project. So despite our prearranged appointment, he probably had no intention of showing up and honoring his commitment. Or he just forgot. Either way, really lame. I found the entire experience to be very unprofessional. We're talking about a job (potentially) for thousands of dollars, not odds and ends. Seems to me that he just didn't take the whole thing seriously, which, if you ask me, is not a trait you want in a contractor.
