There are little toy things, and big toy things. The vintage clothing was one of a kind in different sizes...men, women and some kids. There is something for all ages. Yelp posts the store opens at 2 p.m., and into the evening. It's open on weekends, too. If in the area, check it out. The owner, a friendly guy, was putting out merchandise, and talked about his hobby...all the stuff. My son asked him about Master Chief, which he had some cool items.

Don't miss the room in the back, it contains kitchen necessities like soup mixes (what a concept!). I personally love soft fabrics and didn't find many of those in store. SERVICE: The owner of the store was very friendly. He has sharing a lot of stories about his merchandise which was nice. He mentioned that socks and gloves are popular sellers. I loved the store's atmosphere and merchandise. Unfortunately, nothing worked for me in particular. I wear plus size clothes (2X-3X) and the store carries up to size L. Even the gloves were too small on my hands. Any women with slimmer figures would love unique finds at this store like rose jeans and cozy sweaters.

This weekend I checked it out while waiting for my food order. AMBIANCE/INVENTORY: The store has two well-lit rooms with a variety of gifts. The assortment includes women's apparel, household goods, cute purses, knits, totes, coffee table books, skincare items, decor, kids toys, and everything in between. You can literally walk in and purchase everything on your Christmas list or shop for a certain someone. Talk about efficiency! Around Christmas, Luster has visual lists of gifts for certain people in your like on Instagram like "gift guide for travel" queen. This brings me back to the times we used to read magazines and find these lists there. The lists are very helpful! Year round, their website is very well organized and you can quickly find categories/gift personas. The gifts can also accommodate various budgets. Some items are as low as $12, plenty of options under $50. Apparel tends to be more pricey (around $60-200), and goes up to size L. I was hoping to find a gift bag or a box at Luster for an upcoming girls' Christmas gift exchange. I already have the gifts but need to package them. Surprisingly, the gift shop had no wrapping paper, boxes, bags, or anything for packaging. I was hoping for some unique designs and high quality. I feel like it would be a nice addition to any gifts purchased here. I also then found out that no other surrounding shops at Van Aken seem to have this based on a quick internet search. SERVICE: I didn't experience any service - no greeting and no offer of assistance. I found it quite impersonal. PARKING: There are multiple parking lots at Van Aken - surface lot and parking garage. I can see myself returning to shop for quick gifts in the future and utilizing gift lists. Next time I'll need more time to focus on the extensive inventory. Although to be honest, the lack of service during my visit would make me consider other boutiques around the area first.

I'm a lover of indie bookstores. It's the first bookstore I would never consider visiting again. AMBIANCE: Festive storefront looks inviting and cozy. The bookstore looks preserved in time with elements of the old pharmacy and bookish wooden accents. One room or the bookstore is devoted to book shelves and children's area. The second room has open space, checkout, and soda fountain bar. Plenty of space to roam. The store closes early on weekdays and weekends. Check their hours before you go. INVENTORY: The inventory includes children's books, mystery, fantasy, romance, used books, and other genres. There is a small selection of souvenirs like tees, coloring books, Christmas ornaments (currently on sale), and dates with a book. The latest book releases are on display at the front of the store. Some new merchandise looked well loved. I purchased bookish coloring with folded cover ($9.99) that wasn't marked down as used, no bag available. SODA: The store has a soda fountain and caffeinated drinks. Soda fountain bar offers Italian Soda, Dirty Soda, and Ice Cream Soda (priced from $3.25-$7). You can select your soda, syrup, and ice cream choices. Unfortunately, the syrups are not in-house. My drink was strawberry ice cream and Sprite. Strawberry ice cream was very tasty and contained seeds. My friend tried dirty soda and it tasted artificial. SERVICE: The service at this store is terrible My friend and I were excited to visit this indie store for a book club and drove over an hour. We felt unwelcome and considered leaving. It's not your typical welcoming and friendly bookish vibes. Allow me to elaborate. We arrived on time to the book clubs. The group already gathered and acted annoyed when we arrived. We RSVP'ed on Facebook so our arrival was no surprise. There was no participant or business introduction. The book club was book presentation or monologue. There was no room to discuss and any sideline reflections were quickly talked over by the organizer. There was no room for attendees to connect. I didn't get anything out of this bookclub because it was not an open discussion. It was rush through. My smiles at the organizer were met with frigid attitude. Given the newness of this book club (few months), I really wanted to give them grace but our experience continued deteriorating. There were no options to shop and order books for next book clubs. Questions about the store's history and drinks (as we ordered) were met with an attitude. The book club concluded in less than an hour making me excited about all this time about shopping and trying soda. Guests weren't invited to shop or have soda, and instead rushed out. There was garbage cleaning and active statements about needing to close. I wasn't allowed to get or pay for more than a small size ice cream float and wasn't allowed to shop. Some guests lingered outside to talk because the store was immediately closed and lights shut off. Interactions with store employees made me very surprised at their rudeness - rushing us out before the allotted time, lack of a warm welcome, rude and short answers to our questions, sideway glances, and generally making us feel like intruders. I've visited many bookstores and never had such a derailed experience. I am not interested in visiting this store again based on my disappointing experience. I can't recommend it. While the concept and history of this charming bookstore are great, the unwelcoming culture was a real downfall. I hope that this store improves its service to create a positive customer experience. It has so much potential!

Essentially inside the first floor of one of the homes in Tremont (to give you an idea of the vibe), every surface is packed and curated somehow without looking cluttered and making you feel overwhelmed. Street parking is plentiful in the area. From older books to sets of glassware (that were stunning but I had no particular place for them at this point) to a little bit of everything in between. You can tell the owner put a lot of love and thought into the curation. The owner's mom was manning the desk when I was there and she was lovely. After the initial heartfelt hello I was left to browse in peace which is always my preference. I'm always here for a conversation but it's always easier to have at the end of my browsing whether I've bought anything in particular or not. Given the nature of the business I would assume there's quite a bit of turnover in the stock and I'm curious to come back and see what's new-to-me.

They offer their own hired horse-drawn buggy, hay, and sleigh rides throughout the seasons. They also feature bear and rustic themed furniture and horse care products. The house on a wooded lot is located on 422 near Parkman, Ohio, between Rt. 700 and 528. Owners opened around 2001 and named it in honor of their grandparents. A small business that prefers cash but accepts credit cards with a surcharge added. This is one of the stops in the Tour Geauga program.
