Children are not welcome to play in the store (nor should they be). Some vintage pieces by Ventura County Vintage hang in the center of the store. Lots of pretty acoustic guitars, Diamond, Boogie, and MESA cabinets, as well as Marshall, Fender, soldano, and hiwatt. Play your pick in the "room of doom", with some incredible collectible and unique speakers. His collection of cabinets and amps is worth a look, just for conversation! If shopping for guitars, this is the stop to make when in the Shoals! They have an impressive inventory of old and new, including some truly special vintage items with stories and history. My husband got to plug in a 1962-ish Fender Stratocaster (mint green, of course), and test a couple other guitars and amps. Alana offered me a generous hot coffee, which kept me going on a rainy Monday. Hospitality goes a long way in the south. They sell mostly just three things: guitars, amps, and pedals, with a handful of accessories like strings, picks, cords, and straps. When you are in a historic musical area, in a guitar store, you will come across musicians. Travis Wammack (a super legendary recording artist) popped in and everyone chatted like old friends. We ended up buying a vintage Victory amp he was selling on consignment. We will absolutely be back to Florence and this shop again and again! Thanks!

Throughout all of the horns and mouthpieces I've owned, I've never been a numbers guy. I contacted Joe and told him my situation and what horn I had. Within a few emails we had agreed on a mouthpiece combo. Joe must have gone straight to the post office because I got the piece just a couple business days later. It was packaged well and in perfect condition. As for the actual mouthpiece, it is absolutely wonderful. My sound is more mature, the horn slots better, and everything just works. I am very impressed by the knowledge Joe has and how easy it was to work with him.

They helped set up my daughters guitar with light gauge strings and lowered them so she had an easier time pressing them as she is 5. Also as my daughter is so small Zack recommended she should try a Ukulele and it has opened her up as it is easier for her to play. We love going in for lessons. With that in mind don't expect to go here and find a Les Paul hanging on the wall brand new or your favorite marshal amp brand new. They made it very clear they could order anything you wanted. Again, this is a local small music place and I like supporting local places. They also told me they can do guitar and amp work I think they have someone who they send it out to on their behalf. I gave them five stars for being exactly what it is a nice clean place, small locally owned where I can go pick up some simple things for some music and if I need something big I'll ask him them to order and see what the price will be.

Like he was genuinely just wonderful and it didn't feel like a transaction was taking place at all. You can really tell he is passionate about instruments, and extremely knowledgeable (not in a annoying way) on the products.. specifically, guitars. The store is pretty big and they carry pretty much everything with a wide range of choices and brands. Speakers, amps , keyboards, tons of string instruments, drum sets, bongos, Taylor, Gibson, the list is vast...huge selection but not too much to overwhelm you. It's also all arranged in a way, you can see it all and know where to go. Like they put some thought into it.. The staff were all very helpful and nice. Today was special, my daughter has been saving her $$ for a while now and decided to buy herself a Taylor guitar. Josh made this a breeze and once he led her into the acoustic room, she just followed her heart. I can't say enough good things about this experience. My sweet 14 year old couldn't of left here with any bigger of a smile. Josh changed out her strings, shined her Taylor up, hooked us up with a re-chargeable tuner, a strap and a case.. and he made my daughters day even better when he gave her a discount ! He also knew a lot of interesting things about the Taylor brand and was giving us some super cool info/history on Taylor guitars, and their founder.. how he is working to conserve different trees, wood, etc. for the material to continue to supply their company to continue to run smoothly for years and years to come. I planned on purchasing another 3k worth of equipment from them when I came to pick it up. When I asked the guy on the phone he responded "absolutely not we will turn it away or throw it away" with an attitude. Lost a life time big spending customer because you just wont accept a package. GC gets tons of packages everyday doesn't even make sense to be an issue. Another guitar store gladly did it and said "I'll do anything to help my customers" so he's getting my money and a lifetime of loyalty instead. Terrible business practice.

Chuck helped me out with buying a guitar. I tried out quite a few and spent at least an hour in the shop. I ended up taking home a beautiful used Michael Kelly, Valor Special guitar. Since I now live out of state, Chuck packed it up and mailed it to me.
