Food is usually good but today I got the bone-in wings. They were cold, tough and overcooked. Won't order them again!

10/21/25 I stopped…read moreby Penn Station for lunch and ordered the grilled Italian and a small fries. The food was great and the service was just as good. The restaurant has plenty of seating and very casual. I really love that you can actually see them making the fries fresh right in front of you, seems it is nothing frozen here, which is always a big plus. The sandwich was hot, flavorful, and perfectly toasted. Everything tasted super fresh and satisfying. Definitely a solid spot for a quick and delicious lunch!

Absolutely horrible customer service. I contacted this restaurant 48 hours in advance to arrange a…read moredelivery order for our university volleyball team. Nicholas assured me that everything would be taken care of and that they could accommodate our team. However, when I sent my email with the order details 28 hours before the scheduled delivery, the general manager, Allie, informed me that there was absolutely nothing they could do. She stated that they needed the email by 10 a.m. and that they could accommodate orders made at least 24 hours in advance. My email was sent at 1 p.m. for a delivery scheduled at 5 p.m. the following day, giving them 28 hours' notice. What frustrated me most was not only the conflicting information provided by the staff but also the complete lack of willingness to find a solution. Nicholas had already assured me that our order could be accommodated, yet Allie offered no alternatives or assistance. As a result, I was left scrambling to find another restaurant to feed our 20-person university volleyball travel party. I understand that businesses have policies and procedures, but those policies should be communicated clearly and consistently by all employees. If there are specific deadlines for catering orders, customers should be informed of them upfront rather than being assured that an order can be accommodated and then turned away. The lack of professionalism, communication, and willingness to help was extremely disappointing. I rarely feel the need to leave a negative review, but this experience was frustrating enough that I felt it was necessary. I strongly encourage management to ensure that all employees understand the catering policies before making commitments to customers. I would not recommend this restaurant for catering, especially for teams or larger groups that need reliable service!!

Looking for some BBQ, my wife and I headed downtown to try Smitty's Southern Style BBQ. Smitty's is…read morea family-owned and operated barbecue restaurant in Richmond, Kentucky, offering homestyle smoked meats and classic Southern sides. We wanted to sample several things, and Ribs were high on that list. The ribs were meaty, and the seasoning was spot on, with enough sauce to show up without smothering them. They were fall-off-the-bone tender and juicy, but just enough left to give you a good bite and chew. We also sampled the Breaded Wings with spicy BBQ sauce. The wings are coated in sauce, as they should be, and very large. The breading was super crispy, adding texture, crunch, and chew in every bite. The wings were juicy and tender, with seasoning that really made them pop. The spicy sauce added great sweetness up front, with a good heat burn on the finish. The best part is that the breading held up to the sauce and wasn't soggy or mushy, adding great texture to each bite. We split three different sides and cornbread. The mac and cheese had perfectly cooked, al dente noodles with a good chew. The cheese sauce coated the noodles perfectly while staying ooey-gooey. It was well seasoned, with a great black pepper kick. The green beans were tender and well-seasoned, with a nice pork flavor. The greens were exceptionally tender but still offered some chew. The seasoning was wonderful: light and salty, with a little spice on the back end, and the pot liquor was so good you will want to drink it at the end. I could eat these on their own as a meal. The cornbread is cake-like with a nice sweetness and good texture. Basically, it works as a dessert. They make their own sauce in-house, and it comes in sweet or spicy versions. They are both thick, tomato-based sauces that coat and stick to whatever you put them on. It is one of my favorite BBQ sauces to buy. You can buy it in-house or at Sav-A-Lot in Richmond. Smitty's offers a good-sized menu of meats, including catfish served with white bread, burgers, and a good variety of sides. The Fat Man says that Smitty's Southern Style BBQ is Fat Man Approved with 3 chins.

It's a little "hole in the wall" super basic but that's often a GOOD sign. It was. Staff very friendly, food DELICIOUS, it took a little wait for the food due to the freshly breaded and fried catfish. We had ribs, catfish and pulled pork. Coleslaw, and beans. Fantastic place to get delicious reasonably priced BBQ and catfish. Worth a quick exit from the hwy.
