Ann Arbor Wine and Spirits looks like any other convenience store in a strip mall, but they have a…read morehuge selection of liquor. The entire wall behind the checkout counter is floor-to-ceiling packed with a wide selection of spirits. The selection of wine is pretty good, too, and they sell a variety of beer. You can buy the standard cases and six-packs of beer, but they also sell beer by the bottle. The store also sells a variety of other obvious items for a convenience store like candy and soda pop. There's a small selection of food, ranging from a refrigerator case with salads to a selection of donuts and other pastries from the Dexter Bakery, though the donuts were pretty picked over when I visited on a weekend afternoon.

This place sells the most overpriced wine in Ann Arbor! For example, Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc is…read morepriced at $24.90 when the same wine at Kroger's sells for $13.49 for the 2015 vintage and $14.39 for the 2016 vintage. Not even Whole Foods or Plum approaches those prices. Stay away. Even when you tell them they are overpriced they won't match what other retailers are charging. Their current cash register receipts list their name as Ann Arbor Liquor Emporium. Don't be fooled.
