A Walk In The Park

A Walk In The Park

Can't say enough good things. I lost my older dog about 2…read moremonths ago and Ben ( who had never been alone ) was having a really hard time. Some of my work days were long and I wasn't able to bring him with me like I normally do. After calling and talking to many dog walking companies, I reached out to A walk in the Park.( who came highly recommend by Kentlands Vet-love them too!) They were amazing! She answered my email right away! And made an interview appt to come and meet Ben with one of their amazing walkers. Ben is shy and nervous. He needs to be introduced to people walking into the house. I was nervous about the meet and greet, and that reflected in Ben as well. Although I was positive as long as the walker was confident, Ben would be fine. About 2 months later and Ben is SO excited to see her walk through the door! He gets this about once a week, just to keep him comfortable with them. And this is also helping his through his grieving process from losing his best friend. I felt 100% comfortable after meeting them about giving them access to my house and them being there when I'm not. Also they give emailed report cards (with pictures-which I love!) Saying how his day went. There is nothing better than the peace of mind knowing he was been walked with someone that loves spending time with him when I am at work all day. Thanks for being amazing guys!

I never have to (or had to) worry about whether our pets were being cared for just like we do when we are home. Text and email updates are sent promptly so I know just how things are going when I am away. I will always use A Walk in the Park and if you are looking for excellent pet care, you should too! Dances with Dogs

Brittany helped us do an incredible 180 with our two adopted dogs, which has, without exaggeration,…read moreimproved the overall quality of our life. Five weeks ago, we couldn't let visitors into our home through the front door, walk past other dogs, or be in-the-midst of little ones without major stress for both dogs and humans alike. Fast forward to now, and our dog-reactive pup can pass other dogs on walks with minimal (and occasionally, no) reaction; our kid-fearful pup can hang out near the chaos of little ones playing at the park without stressing out; and we can do introductions with guests visiting our home that don't make us dread having visitors. Prior to Brittany's help, I hadn't walked one of the two in more than a year because the experience was always so stressful. Now, I'm proud every time he turns to me for cues and reassurance as we go on more confident walks together. Our training experience with Brittany really strengthened our trust of, and bond with, both dogs. Like I said, life-changing. Here's what we loved most about working with her: 1. She genuinely cares about our dogs and treated them like she'd treat her own fur-child. It put all of us at ease. 2. She does 100% positive reinforcement behavior training, so we knew (and believed in) her methodology. 3. She customized the training plan for our dogs. We got to pick our top priorities, and she chose the specific activities that would help us and our fur-children accomplish those goals. I could go on and on... we're just so thankful we found her. Thank you so much, Brittany!

(I recently moved out of the area and was quite sad to leave them!) Both Jackie and Nancy were a dream to work for, largely because they are very effective at keeping their business functioning optimally, in every way. Every interaction I have with them is pleasant, smooth, and successful - whether it is to work on scheduling, or to handle a challenge with a dog. With their positive attitude every challenge was always easily resolved. DogOn Fitness is a company that consists of animal lovers. Every handler and trainer I've worked with there is very passionate about animals, and I've always seen that the animals are treated with the utmost care, respect, and concern. Sometimes we deal with a dog's difficult behavioral issues, and when the solution is not immediately apparent, we will have an ongoing discussion amongst every person responsible for that dog's care, where we share our stories and strategies and bounce ideas off of each other until we find something that works. For example, I worked with a large dog who would just decide to sit down and not cooperate during walks. Of course the dog would eventually have to make her way home, and us handlers have a schedule to keep, so this poses quite a problem. Ideally we did not want to use any force, like pulling on her leash to get her up. A few of us worked together and found a wonderful solution - playing with a tennis ball will get her going again! I was so relieved to have such caring support during a challenge. In such circumstances I fear that many people may not bother and would just do something like pulling on the leash until she gets up - instead of working to find a way that causes no distress to the dog. They have open and active communication that makes it very easy to successfully solve problems, so I really didn't see problems slip! And thus, my entire experience there was quite wonderful and all and all I can't speak highly enough of Nancy, Jackie, and all of DogOn Fitness!
