The meal consists of baked beans, Cole slaw, a deviled egg for each and dinner rolls. We were seated immediately by a very friendly hostess and then greeted by our waitress. She is clearly someone's Grandma! She was extremely cordial and attentive....just like your Grandma would be if you sat down at her dinner table! The food was delicious and maybe the best ribs I've ever had! The meat was perfectly smoked, with a great Smokey flavor and a rich bark on the outside. I'm talking about sucking on the bones to get that last bit of BBQ taste. My biggest disappointment was we finished everything...no leftovers! If you're ever in Memphis, this is a place to check out and bring your appetite! You can thank me later!

The meats are so delicious, and the sides are incredible. Everyone enjoyed their food so much! The service was so great, and our girl recommended the chicken to me. It's quite possibly the best I've ever had. (And I've had a lot of chicken!) ... my only regret is we did not get dessert. They looked phenomenal. The banana pudding, pies, trust me I was eying everyone's! Ha! I guess we will have to go back now. It's 5 stars from this Houston girl!

Apparently Elvis and Leonard Heuberger were good friends and Elvis was a regular at Leonard's back in the day. There are lots of articles and photos on the walls of this restaurant which opened originally in 1922. For lunch, we each had the famous Mr. Leonard sandwich which has pork shoulder topped with BBQ sauce and slaw. I had the small plate which came with sides of beans and we chose onion rings for the second side. Both the food and service was great. Tasty sandwiches and with the slaw on top, it makes a wonderful meal. I enjoyed the sides as well. I bought a T Shirt before leaving since I liked this place so much. I would love to have seen this place in the old days when they had car hops serving the customers outside. Give this place a try!

Both of our bbq bologna sandwiches were cool/lukewarm. -Came through drive thru about a month ago and ordered a pork sandwich. Was told "we have no pork". This was early afternoon. Changed my order to bbq bologna with a coke. Was then told "we are also out of soft drinks", at which point I just left. -Dined in a few days ago and ordered a big leonard combo. The pork did not taste good. It tasted like it had been microwaved. The beans were lukewarm and tasted gross. I notified the server who notified the manager who never came out to address the issues. I paid my bill and left.

At the time I didn't know it was a chain , but I found out later. Sometimes that's not a bad thing though. I found the restaurant was decorated nicely and clean. My waitress was very nice and informative since I told her it was my first time here. I got a Half Rack of Ribs with Wet Sauce on one side and Dry Rub on the other side. Bbq Baked Beans , Cheese Grits , Rolls , and Sweet Tea. The Ribs were tender and good. They have 2 Bbq Sauces on the table and I asked the waitress if they have any others and she said yes , a Honey and a Smoky Spicy one. I asked for the Smoky Spicy to try. I liked the Dry Rub side better and with the Smoky Spicy Bbq Sauce on the Dry Rub was the Winner. The Wet Side was Original Bbq Sauce and it was kind of plain to me. They also had this on the table with a Hot Bbq Sauce that was more or less like Texas Pete / Louisiana Hot Sauce. The Bbq Baked Beans were really good. The waitress said they are the best in town and I would probably agree even though I haven't been to any other bbq place in the Memphis area. The Cheese Grits were okay. They used like a White Cheese I think. I love Grits , but they could've did a little better on these. The Rolls were like yeast rolls like Texas Roadhouse , but better , melt in your mouth and you don't even need to put any butter on them. Sweet Tea was just right , not too sweet or not enough sugar. They had a display of their desserts , which looked good , but I was too full to have any. There is also a Bar if you want to have a drink and some appetizers. A wall with lots of pictures of Celebrities who have dined at Corky's is on display. Elvis and Little Richard are sitting at a table above the dining area watching to see how you like the Bbq. They sell shirts and sauces if you want to take some home. The menu is pretty large , so lots of choices for you to try. There is also an upstairs area for dining. If I lived here or was visiting for a while I would come back and try more. I usually prefer a more Mom and Pop place , but this was very good , much better than the Bbq I've had in Oklahoma.

For some reason, I had been craving (Disclaimer: NOT pregnant) BBQ ribs for a couple of weeks…read more Another disclaimer: I find myself, as I'm getting seasoned, not wanting to eat as much meat as I used to. For some, this is a bad thing, and for some it's a good thing; it just depends on what floats your boat. Nevertheless, lest I digress. After some research, I found this place while traveling in Memphis, TN, called Corky's Ribs and BBQ. So, I invited two colleagues with me and went. Let me say that, truly, it was worth the wait for me. I ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs with coleslaw, baked beans, and a side of Twice-Baked Potato Salad. The waitress asked me how I wanted them: dry-rubbed, wet, or muddy. I was looking at her like she had three heads, and she explained what each meant. So, I went on the wild side (no judgment) and asked for muddy. My colleagues all ordered the same, and one ordered some Pork Burnt Ends , which were to die for. Ladies and gentlemen, or should I say, "folks," you're talking about some good eating in that place. As much as I wanted to eat all of it in this sitting, it would have been a sin and shame to eat all that food in one sitting. So, I did that ladylike thing and ate half, boxed up the rest to eat for dinner the next day, and called it a day. But wait, she brought out the rolls, which were still in the oven cooking as we were eating. Corkey, you know you are so wrong (in a good way), bringing out delicious rolls like that; are you kidding me? If you are in Memphis, TN, or passing through, check them out. The hospitality and atmosphere were wonderful. BTW, I heard our waitress reading off the dessert menu to a couple next to us, and I asked for my check quickly so I would not be tempted to order some or take it to go.

The Mac and cheese was delicious and the brisket was good. I didn't have high expectations for the brisket (it's not Texas) but I was pleasantly surprised. The service was good for a drive through and I'll have to go back to test the ambiance

They are a few tables outside in front of the restaurant to eat. There is also a small dining area with a television. The dinner room is on the older side and could have used a good cleaning. Apparently, if you plan on dining in, you grab a table and you will be served, but that was not very clear so I placed my order at the counter. The staff there was ok. They did their job. The restaurant has an efficient menu that includes ribs, chicken, sausage, pulled pork and brisket. And of course they have your favorite sides including salads, mac & cheese, backed beans, string beans, deviled eggs, potato salad, and french fries, sweet potato fries and cole slaw. There are even a few desserts to choose from. This place offers catering if you are looking. I ordered the pulled pork dinner with potato salad and baked beans. It took about 10 minutes for me to get my food. It was ok or average. I was not a major fan of any of it. The potato salad was pretty bland. The brisket seemed a bit under cooked and was seasoned after the fact. It was covered with some seasoning salt after it was cooked. When that is done, it has been my experience that it is to hide something. Anyway, the service/staff was ok, the food was ok, and the ambiance was ok. So, the restaurant rates am "ok" (3 star rating) in my opinion.
