They have a lot of series of chapter books, as well as popular story books. They also have a decent number of games/resources for math/literacy/social studies/science. And if you're looking for something specific, you can jot it down on the form upfront with your number and she'll contact you when she gets it in! It's a bit of a drive for me since I'm in schaumburg but I'm happy to make it. If it were any closer, I'd be spending all of my money there :)

I'm a board gamer and I used to go to the store because they used to have a decent selection. Now everything here is basically leftover stock from when it used to be a good game store. You also didn't have a problem if you needed to use the public bathroom inside the store back when I visited originally. Apparently, now they don't let anyone, other than employees, use the bathroom in the store which I find completely ridiculous and I'm sure is against some sort of commercial code. Even when I said that I was in a tough spot and I really needed to utilize it they still wouldn't allow anyone to use it. This place is a joke and shouldn't even be in business if they're gonna treat people that way. Definitely go somewhere else if you're looking for anything board game related. If Pokémon is your bag, I have no idea, but I still wouldn't spend any money here.

Be aware, they no longer are right by rainbow grocery, I think they are near that pet resort across the bay now. Well past the bay. You gotta take I-80 past the bridge but keep going past Emeryville and Vallejo. It's pretty much like right after that, but gotta go through Davis past Tahoe. Drive for like maybe another 2000 miles until you get to Iowa, but if you hit the city you went too far. But it's by the pet hotel. I think it's a nice location, they had to get out of the bay to get a bigger spot but they still ship to Cali. Vintage Mercantile is a small little gift shop right on Main Street in downtown Antioch, Illinois…read more They have done a fantastic job remodeling and repairing the inside space to look a bit rustic, decorated with items from the past. With the large open windows up front, the store has plenty of natural lighting, which gives it a cozy feeling. They sell a selection of soaps, spices, cups, bags, jewelry, towels, and a good variety of little knickknacks. They have these books that are made up to look like old leather bound tomes with cloth like paper that I thought was pretty neat. The staff were very friendly and made sure we were taken care of but didn't hound us while we shopped. My only comment is some items were a tad bit pricey, but that's pretty standard for the unique products that they sell. It definitely did not feel touristy, as some gift shops do, so that was very nice. Overall, if you're looking for something unique, rustic, or something with an Antioch Illinois flair, then Vintage Mercantile is a great place to stop in if you're in the area. I would definitely recommend it!

I've been meaning to visit Evolve for Inner Peace for a while, and I finally had the chance when my…read moregrandnephews came to visit. They're curious, bright kids who love to learn, so I thought it would be fun to bring them to pick out crystals and ask about a mysterious rock that showed up in our yard--possibly a meteorite! When I looked at the website that morning and saw they had a music room, I was thrilled--I'm just beginning my own sound healing journey and have started collecting instruments like crystal singing bowls and Koshi chimes. What happened during our visit was something I couldn't have planned, and I'm still in awe of it. We were welcomed so warmly, and while we were browsing, my younger nephew found the music room and was greeted by the kindest soul--Chloe. She truly made our visit magical. Her kindness, passion, and care created a memory for us I will always treasure. The boys were fascinated by the instruments, and we all learned so much. I feel like the universe gifted us this moment--and it gave me a way to introduce my new passion to my family in such a natural and joyful way. We each left with meaningful stones, a deeper appreciation for the healing power of music, and a sense of connection that I hope continues to grow. Everyone we met was kind and helpful--but truly, the brightest gem in the whole shop was Chloe. Her energy, presence, and generosity of spirit turned our visit into something magical. They were very honest with me about the risks of trying to fix one of the rings, which is just a cheap souvenir with more sentimental value than actual dollar value,l, but said they'd try if I wanted them to.
