True is amazing and made us so comfortable in her home. She generously offered me a cup of coffee before we started the class. Her home was also in a cute little neighborhood where parking on the street was easy to find. I grew up watching Bob Ross as a child and am absolutely in love with everything about him. It was really nice to be able to learn his style of painting and to be able to use the different tools for the different affects on the canvas. The overall experience was very therapeutic and I was so happy that my painting turned out so beautiful and amazing. I even brought my Bob Ross wig for the final pic of all of us together. I would definitely do something like this again and highly recommend True as an instructor if you would like to learn oil painting (Bob Ross style).

As someone who enjoys understanding how things work, I especially appreciated that he went beyond the basics and spent some time explaining the chemistry and physics behind glass blowing. That extra depth made the experience even more enjoyable for me. I highly recommend this class to anyone interested in trying glass blowing, whether you're just looking for a fun experience or want to learn more about the craft.

The Oregon Society of Artists name is still on the building, same folks, for a hundred years! Note the artists on the wall tiles outside, and don't miss the lovely front butterfly garden with benches and a cool metal sculpture in the center of a patch of giant daisies. Gorgeous and peaceful! I literally hopped on google and did a search. Acting for Kids & Teens popped up. Enrolling her was one of the best decisions I've made. She absolutely loves the class and looks forward to going every single Saturday. It has given her a creative outlet, a supportive community, and something exciting to focus on. Her teacher, Steph, is fantastic and truly connects with the students in a positive and encouraging way. Hallie was also absolutely wonderful during the enrollment process--kind, helpful, and very responsive. I'm so grateful to have found a place where my daughter can build confidence, express herself, and spend time with other teens who are passionate about acting and creativity. I highly recommend Acting for Kids & Teens to any parent looking for a positive and inspiring environment for their child.

Do NOT do the party package…read more The staff was sweet, the kids had fun, and the pottery selection was honestly pretty slim -- but none of that is why I'm leaving this review. We booked the party package for my daughter's birthday. Eight kids painting. Several adults there to supervise, because that's how children's birthday parties work. Right as we were finishing setup -- gifts on the table, kids getting settled -- the manager came out to inform us we'd be charged extra for the adults. Adults who were not painting. Adults who were there to keep nine-year-olds from losing their minds. She framed it as "being flexible." I didn't find it flexible. I found it to be a surprise charge sprung at the worst possible moment, dressed up as a favor. When I pushed back, she told me "it's on our website." It is -- and it says painters. I was too busy managing a birthday party to pull up the page on the spot, but I checked afterward. She was wrong. The policy covers up to 12 painters. We had 8. The adults weren't painting, weren't taking up painting stations, and weren't costing the studio anything -- they were buying snacks and drinks and helping keep nine-year-olds in their seats so the staff didn't have to. We were good business. The kids had a great time. The manager made sure I didn't.
