I have never used Virginia mason and now that I have, I will tell everyone to go there !! Before my surgery they implanted a pump that would act as a nerve block to my shoulder and arm after surgery to reduce the amount of pain I'd experience and reduce the medicine I would need to take. You don't feel the line being inserted cause your sedated. It was so relaxing and stress free. After surgery I was explained everything. My mom was my ride and she had everything with her. I'm at day 5 after surgery and the pain is no where near where it would have been without the pump. I mean it is sore. But don't need alot of pills. I'm relaxing for sure. I recommend dr Kieras to everyone ! Found out he did my friends surgery as well ! How awesome.

I have received an MRI and without any showing of the image that was scanned, he just told my father and I that I needed surgery. "You might have torn your meniscus." My father listened to him and I had no say in this at all because my father just wanted my knee to "be fixed" or "be better" The initial reason why we showed up in the first place was because every time I bend my knee up and down, there was something that was cracking/popping...Without any pain. We just wanted to make sure that my knee was ok... and these sounds weren't a sign to internal damage. After the surgery, the doctor didn't even mention or report back to us what he found or what the reasons were for those popping/cracking. We had to ask, I asked him "was my meniscus torn?" He said "no, there were just some damaged tissues and we just scraped it out." I wish I could've gone to another doctor to get a second opinion that clearly goes over the MRI findings and isn't just to get money. NOW that I am older, I will always get a SECOND OPINION because DOCTORS ARE CORRUPT AND SKETCHY. I would STAY AWAY FROM RECEIVING ANY MEDICAL ADVIDE OR ANY PROCEDURES FROM DOCTOR GARY HUNTER! My knee is STILLL THE SAME NO CHANGE AT ALL.., STILL HAVE SYMPTOMS .., I just suffered through senior year on crutches and my knee will never be the same after surgery. He came to my hospital room that evening and said "You will never need surgery. You just cannot move it until you see me in 6/7 days. Gravity will heal your arm." He left never to return. I carried my fractured right arm around with my left arm for over three weeks with major pain and swelling. My daughter and I followed their instructions daily as it got unbearable. We finally got another orthopedic surgeon in Seattle who was shocked and said emergency surgery should have been done three weeks early. Gravity was never going to heal my arm. No one should ever have to endure such inhumane treatment. Being a senior citizen doesn't mean you don't matter or don't deserve the best health care possible.

I have been pushed around and shoved off to different departments for months. No one knows how to handle anything. The doctor blames the other departments, they blame each other. Don't expect referrals to go through or authorizations to be communicated. Just a ridiculous excuse for a specialty clinic. Also, the dr only works part time so it takes months to be seen. The worst part is that no one in that office has any empathy. Not one person actually apologized for the issues that they created, they just simply gave excuses. A simple, meaningful apology goes a long way.

We discussed options, and have come up with a path to feeling better. He did what my last doctor wouldn't do, and that is to find the source of the problem. He has weighed my options to getting better, and he really shows that he cares. Let's just say, my previous doctor refused to do xrays, and an MRI was out of the question. I was told it was a sprain or strain, and I would be back and running in no time. The doctor referred me to physical therapy, which was beyond painful. After a month, I didn't improve at all. I decided to get a second opinion, and went to Dr. Dawson. Dr. Dawson suggested an Xray. After he reviewed the xray, he saw concerns to get an MRI done.
