They charged me as quoted (a couple thousand dollars less than I had paid in the past) and they are upfront about charging a flat hourly rate for anything unexpected the run into. Since then, I've used them for the occasional cleaning and different maintenance issues. They come when they say they will, they do a great job, and there are no unexpected charges. David, the owner, is in his 60s and has been in the pool business since he was 13. He doesn't do the physical work himself, but he does have an excellent team. The only negative - which isn't a big deal to me - is that he isn't great at returning calls. I just call him every day until I get him. He's a delight to talk to and a straight shooter.

He told me I needed a pool timer and pump. He said he had the timer and would install one. He cut my timer out and put it in the ground. Then he pulled the wiring out also. He told me my pool was green both times. First time it was crystal clear. Second time there was some algae growing since he hadn't checked the pool in two months. When he left he billed me another $185. That's $360 for three visits. I'm a recent widow and he basically stole $360 from me.

I found The Pool Repair Guy on line last night and had an email response back before 7 am. Bobby was able to give me a price quote for full replacement but in case they could fix it would let me know later that day. A few hours, he sent a few pics and confirmed I needed a full replacement. They replaced it right then and sent me pics of the new filter. Since I had another property around the corner, asked if they could just take a quick look to see if I may have any issues in the near future with the pool filter. I had been asking him to come out to check the leaking salt water chlorinator that he installed in 2022 since August of 2024. He doesn't have any help anymore he said, so he wasn't able to come out until just a few weeks ago! Now the product, which cannot be fixed is out of warranty. He told me he would try to find something that would work, but has not contacted me back again. This is a $1000 part that I don't have the money to replace, so I'm stuck. I'm in Tampa and he's in Plant City. I wish he would have just told me he can't do Tampa visits anymore. I don't think he is ill intentioned, but if he can't get the job done, that needs to be communicated much more timely.

He did a wonderful job, totally cleaned up the disaster I had from our deck being power washed, cleaned my filter twice, because the problem was so bad, and started regular weekly cleaning on Monday.
