That was 3 years ago, and he is still there :) Animal House is special on sooooooo many levels, a real gem of a find here in Sarasota for all these fur-babies. Gina & Mahesh are such lovely & warm-natured people, you immediately get the sense that although this is their business, they are also true animal lovers! Their warmth & affection with all the dogs really shows! The moment I open my door to let Hudson out in the mornings, he runs inside with a smile on his face and his tail wagging (and his pink chicken! Ohhhhhh that pink chicken, LOL!!). The facility is always clean, well kept, and run very efficiently of course, but ultimately (for me at least), it was their warm & inviting feeling I got when first meeting Gina & Mahesh that made me decide on Animal House for Hudson all those years ago. They are a "family", and you & your sweet fur-baby become part of their family in every way. Gina & Mahesh go above & beyond for their four-legged "customers". There have been times when one of them will actually text or call me whenever Hudson isn't there, just to check on him & make sure all is well. This really shows you how much they genuinely care. If you are looking for a daily doggy daycare situation, or even the occasional boarding for overnight stays, don't hesitate w/ Animal House. They are very unorganized how…read morethey run their operation, to start they don't send any confirmation for your reservation and when I asked who would you like me to send the vaccinations to, they said you can email them, when I asked for their email address they said i can find it on their website, so instead of giving it to me i went and looked it up on their website and found the email address so i sent the vaccines to them in the email i asked them to respond that they received them, I got no response. When I brought the dog in (I was hoping that I still had a reservation since they didn't confirm anything) I brought a hard copy of vaccines to make sure they had them, I asked the owner Jeff if he received them, he acted like he had no idea what i was talking about, I then proceded to ask if they could bathe my dog before pickup at 11:00 am he said no problem. So when my wife went to pick him up he was soaking wet not just from the bath but they put him back into kennel run while it was still raining. My dog is a wheaten Terrier and the worse thing you can do to a wheaten is leave him wet because they can matte very easily. so when my wife called me upset because he was so wet I called the Kennel and asked to speak to the owner and the girl at the kennel that answered said he wasnt available. she then said "your wife was not very happy so i figured you would call" so I asked why would you not blow dry my dog? instead of apologizing for the misunderstanding she blamed us for not paying extra for blow drying services. I tried to explain to her that was never offered to me and if it was i would have paid the extra fee. She said i basically should know what services were available (fyi it says nothing about blow dryin or any other details on their website and this is the first kennel that has not dried my dog after bathing him) so after telling me its my fault I became even more frustrated with the situation and my voice began to raise higher and i said this is fricking ridiculous and she hung up on me so I called back thinking maybe we were disconnected somehow. she verified she hung up on me so i yelled this is totally unprofessioonal and she hung on me again. At this point i was just going to move on and never use them again. but a few hours later the owner Jeff called me, I answered it thinking we could talk and work this out. he proceded to start yelling at me and accuse me of using profanities at his employee , when i tried to tell him i escalated my voice but never used profanities he would not let me speak and kept telling me i did use profanities he then told me I can never use his kennel again (oh my what will i ever do) and hung up on me. to be honest I did then call him back and tell he can go f himself and hung up on him.in conclusion all they had to do was apologize for the miscommunication and move on, if they treat me this way who knows how they treated my dog while he stayed at their facility. and any reputable kennel would know you dont send a dog like a wheaten home soaking wet

However, she is only there during weekdays. On the weekends, the place turns into a nightmare. Cons - the owner, Jason, should not be allowed to interact with animals. He constantly complains that my dog and other dogs would bark and that would psychologically irritate him. He even admits to spraying my dog with water to punish him. Ive had several other acquaintances try out this place and get bad feelings from him. Why would someone who hates dogs barking run a dog boarding resort? My dog rarely barks and only does if there is an intruder or there is something wrong. He never barks with Karen. I finally had enough when Jason told me that he would only allow my dog to come back if I SEDATE AND DRUG MY DOG during the whole boarding time. After hearing that, I decided this is not the proper safe place to board my dog or any other animal. Best beware of this place. You may not like what Jason does to your dogs when you are away.
